A suspect has been charged in connection to the shooting death of a 20-year-old Wichita woman whose baby survived.

Court records show 19-year-old Matthew Criscenzo is charged with intentional and premeditated first-degree murder and aggravated battery. He made his first court appearance Thursday afternoon.

Police responded at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday to a shooting in the 700 block of South Laura, just southeast of Kellogg and Washington. They arrived to find Naomi Oglesby had been shot. She was taken to an area hospital, where she later died.

octors were able to deliver Naomi’s baby, who was being cared for in the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Criscenzo was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail later that morning. He’s being held on $250,000 bond.

Police said Criscenzo and Naomi knew each other. Additional case details have not been provided.

A GoFundMe for funeral costs and care for Naomi’s child has raised just over $5,300.
