Aldrick Scott, the man charged with kidnapping Omahan Cari Allen, now has been charged with murder in connection with her slaying

The Douglas County Attorney’s Office announced Friday that Scott, 47, has been charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony and tampering with evidence. Those charges are in addition to previous ones of kidnapping and accessory to a felony, which were filed earlier this month before Allen’s body was found in a shallow grave near Topeka, Kansas.

In Scott’s first court appearance on the kidnapping charge, prosecutors said Allen and Scott had dated before she broke up with him about two weeks prior to her disappearance and slaying.

On Nov. 19, the night of Allen’s disappearance, prosecutors say that she went to the Good Life Bar near 180th and Pacific Streets before heading home. Prosecutors said data from Scott’s cellphone places him in Omaha that night despite his initial claims to police that he was in Kansas.

Surveillance video from the bar shows Scott’s Chevy Equinox in the parking lot. Cellphone tower data mapped his route: He left the bar at 10:30 p.m. and then headed northeast in the direction of Allen’s home.

Allen last was seen alive about 11 p.m. Nov. 19. Her son told the Sheriff’s Office that she had stopped texting him around 11:30 p.m. that night. She was reported missing the next afternoon.

In a subsequent search of Allen’s home, authorities found what appeared to be bullet holes in the bedroom doors and walls that had been patched with a brown substance. Officials also searched Scott’s car and found a handgun, nitrile gloves, a crowbar and a sledgehammer.

An arrest warrant charging Scott with kidnapping and accessory to a felony was issued Nov. 25, days after a third party allegedly called 911 in Topeka to report that Scott had killed his girlfriend. A search warrant was executed on Scott’s Topeka home Nov. 21

Scott was apprehended in Belize on Dec. 7. Allen’s body was found Dec. 21. Her cause of death has not been released.

Scott is due in court next month.

Allen leaves behind a teenage son and many friends. A GoFundMe account, which has raised nearly $6,000, was set up shortly after her disappearance to support her family.

Carlos Alberto Trejo More News

Colorado man was arrested and charged after he allegedly killed his cousin with a bow and arrow before then attempting to break into a police station, according to officials.

Carlos Alberto Trejo, 36, was taken into custody at around 1:23 a.m. on December 18 after police caught him trying to enter the secure back parking lot of the station and breaking a glass window. Once confronted by Colorado Springs Police, he admitted he “just woke up” and shot his cousin, 37-year-old Martin Rodarte, with a compound bow and arrow.

Carlos Alberto Trejo allegedly climbed the back gate of the station marked, “Authorized Personnel Only” before attempting to enter the locked back door. After he failed to gain access to the building, he allegedly pulled the fire alarm and then used an ice scraper to smash the window near the back door.

When police questioned Carlos Alberto Trejo about what he was doing, he confessed to killing Rodarte and said he was trying to turn himself in.

“I just woke up and shot my friend in the chest,” he said, according to a sworn probable cause affidavit. “I shot him with an arrow.”

But the officer did not believe Trejo’s confession initially because the same officer had dealt with him just two days earlier, when he admitted to using cocaine and acid.

Carlos Alberto Trejo allegedly called the police on December 16 and said “there was a situation in the apartment which he had to get away from” but refused to provide further information, according to the affidavit, which added that he was “very uncooperative” when officers tried to call back.

Hours later, police were called to a welfare check on Trejo at Guthrie’s Bar and Grill, which is located a few blocks from his residence. Police were told there was a customer who was “on acid, hallucinating, and making other customers uncomfortable.”

When police arrived, Trejo told them he was on acid, and he was then transported to a hospital for a medical evaluation “for a possible acid overdose.”

But despite the officer not believing Trejo’s story about killing Rodarte, police responded to his apartment and found his door unlocked. They walked inside and located the body of an adult male on the bedroom floor next to a compound archery bow.

Investigators talked to Trejo’s girlfriend, who allegedly informed them she had moved out of the apartment a few weeks ago after “a disturbance” between her and Trejo. She said Rodarte moved in around the same time.

Trejo was charged with one count of second-degree murder in connection with Rodarte’s death. He is currently being held at the El Paso County Jail on a $500,000 bond and is due to appear in court for his preliminary hearing on January 25.

Darius Sessoms More News

Darius Sessoms, 28, of North Carolina, received a life sentence without the possibility of parole Thursday for the 2020 murder of a 5-year-old boy, escaping possible capital punishment as part of a plea deal, according to WRAL.

A witness said Sessoms shot 5-year-old Cannon Hinnant as the boy rode his bike outside his father’s Wilson, North Carolina, house, the outlet reported.

Hinnant’s mother, Bonny Parker, said his 7 and 8-year-old sisters witnessed the shooting.

Sessoms, who was a next-door neighbor to Hinnant’s father, took an Alford plea, which allows a defendant to maintain their innocence but admit sufficient prosecutorial evidence to convict them, according to WRAL.

He was already a felon with multiple prison sentences on his record when he murdered Hinnant, CBS reported.

Sessoms parents’ said he seemed to be hallucinating on the day of the shooting and may have been on drugs, according to The Wilson Times.

“[It] brings us a little bit of peace,” Parker told WRAL Thursday, after previously advocating for a death sentence. “Knowing that we are walking out of here today and we don’t have to come back. We don’t have to see him. My girls do not have to testify in court. That was the whole reason why he took this plea. It was best for him to take this plea so it would not have to get our girls up there.”

Sessoms’ girlfriend when the killing took place, Aolani Pettit, received a four to 14-month suspended sentence and 18 months of supervised probation after pleading guilty to obstruction of justice in the case, the outlet reported

Lindsay Lohan’s stepmom and her father Michael Lohan’s estranged wife, Kate Major, has been arrested and charged with her third DUI.

Major, 40, was charged in Shenandoah, Texas, last month after police spotted her in the parking lot of a shopping center at 2AM as she sat in her idling car and ‘reeked of booze’ according to TMZ.

The former showbiz reporter – who filed for legal separation from Lindsay’s father, 62, in 2015 – reportedly told law enforcement she was driving around and trying to find a friend that she’d argued with.

Major reportedly underwent field sobriety testing, which she failed, prompting the officer to arrest her for felony DWI.

She was charged with a felony due to having two prior convictions for driving while intoxicated.

Major was previously arrested in 2020 in New York, and earlier in 2014 in Florida

In 2020 Michael was arrested and charged for allegedly choking Kate and harassing her, though the choking charge was later dropped.

‘I did not touch her, I wasn’t near her, this is just a lie,’ Michael told DailyMail.com just after he was released from custody on Tuesday February 11 in Southampton, New York.

Michael claimed that the assault and choking accusations were fabricated by his wife, in retaliation for the fact that he called the police on her, leading to her arrest for driving under the influence on February 9th.

‘This is all in retaliation to me getting her arrested for DWI. That’s all it is,’ he claimed.

In lieu of jail time or probation he entered a ‘limited protective order’ with respect to Kate – meaning he can be in contact with her, but ‘must not threaten, harass or abuse her’ in any way.

Major legally separated from Michael in 2015, after claiming he tried to sabotage her time in rehab.

At the time she alleged that Michael smuggled a cellphone to her, hidden inside a teddy bear – breaking strict rules on patients not having phones

hat same year she was arrested for ‘drunkenly attacking’ Michael at their Florida home.

The two have been married since 2014, and share two sons – Landon, nine, and Logan, seven – together.

In 2015, the couple lost custody of their children and were only allowed supervised visits and were also ordered to take anger management classes.

Lohan was previously married to Lindsay’s mom Dina from 1985 until 2007.

The two share four children together: daughters Lindsay, 36, and Aliana, 29, and sons Michael, 35, and Cody, 26.
