Police in Georgia are searching for Adrian Jelks who is a Walmart employee who would open fire killing a teenager and injuring a child

According to police reports Adrian Jelks was working at a Fayetteville Walmart in Georgia when he would open fire killing 19-year-old Antavius Holton and injuring a nine year old girl. Police believe that Jelks was firing at the man when he struck the child who thankfully is expected to survive her injuries

The police in Fayetteville Georgia were on the scene within a minute however Adrian Jelks had already left the store and took off in a vehicle which was later found abandoned

Police would arrest 19-year-old Sandra Romero-Nunez and she has been charged with party to a crime for the offenses of murder and aggravated assault however they have not said how she is tied to the shooting

Of course the main question is why was a Walmart employee walking around the store armed

Authorities are searching for a 19-year-old who officials say shot two people inside a Walmart.

Fayetteville police said at 10 p.m. Friday, officers received reports of shots fired at a Walmart on Pavillion Parkway.

When officers arrived, they located 19-year-old Antavius Holton of Riverdale and a nine-year-old girl who had both been shot. Both were taken to the hospital.

Police confirmed that Holton died at the hospital. The child is still stable.

Police identified the shooter as 19-year-old Adrian Jelks, a Walmart employee.

According to the investigation, officers believe that it was an isolated incident and that Jelks planned to shoot the man. Officers identified the child as an innocent bystander who was struck by a stray bullet.

“I am appalled that an innocent child is in the hospital with a gunshot wound, but I’m glad she is in stable condition,” officers told Channel 2 Action News at the scene.

Immediately after the shooting, Jelks drove away from the store in a vehicle but soon abandoned it. He is still at large.

Police added that Jelks is considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities arrested 19-year-old Sandra Romero-Nunez and charged her with party to a crime for the offenses of murder and aggravated assault. Officers have not specified her involvement in the shooting.

Anyone with information regarding Jelks’ whereabouts is asked to call 911.

“We’re heartbroken by what happened in our Fayetteville store Friday night and extend our sympathies to the loved ones of those involved. We are working with law enforcement to assist them in any way we can as they investigate.”

Adrian Jelks Arrested

A Fayetteville Walmart employee who officers said shot and killed a 19-year-old and injured a 9-year-old turned himself in.

Officers said Adrian Jelks, 19, turned himself in shortly after 2 a.m. in connection to the killing of Antavius Holton at the Walmart on Pavilion Parkway on Friday.

“We appreciate the community’s patience as our department worked diligently to locate Jelks. Although Jelks has been arrested, further details cannot be released, as the integrity of the investigation is of the utmost importance,” police wrote in a statement.

According to the investigation, officers believe that it was an isolated incident and that Jelks planned to shoot Holton. A 9-year-old girl was also shot, but she has since been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Jelks was identified by officers as a Walmart employee. After the shooting, officers said Jelks drove away from the store in a car before abandoning it.

Another 19-year-old Sandra Romero-Nunez, was arrested and charged with party to a crime for the offenses of murder and aggravated assault. Officers have not specified her involvement in the shooting.

Officers are continuing to investigate this shooting.
