Robert Woodard was sentenced to death by the State of Texas for a double murder during a robbery. According to court documents Robert Woodard would murder the two owners of a store during a robbery. Apparently when the couple could not get the cash register open fast enough Robert Woodard would shoot and kill the couple. Robert Woodard would be arrested, convicted and sentenced to death

I was on the jury. The husband was dead. The wife was trying to get money for Woodard. They (including witness standing there) heard a siren. Woodard ran for the door which would not open because the husband had hit the door lock switch when he was shot. The wife unlocked the door. Woodard tested it and then ran back and shot the wife in the head from a few inches.
Had he not basically executed the wife, he would not have gotten the death penalty. (I was the last holdout and I still sometimes wonder.
