Following an autopsy it was determined the newborn had died from blunt force trauma

A Cecil County woman was arrested and charged in connection with the death of her five-week-old infant, according to Maryland State Police.
Destiny Chiveral, 24, of Charlestown, was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder, first-degree child abuse resulting in death and other charges.
An autopsy conducted on the infant’s body revealed signs of trauma, according to a news release.
Police said on Dec. 4, law enforcement and EMS responded to Leedle Circle in Rising Sun, where they pronounced the five-week-old baby dead.
MSP’s Homicide Unit investigated the death, obtained search warrants at residences and Chiveral’s phone, and found evidence that led to probable cause for charges against her.
Chiveral is being held without bond at the Cecil County Detention Center, according to the release.

A five-week-old girl was pronounced dead on Dec. 4 at a home on Leedle Circle in Rising Sun, Maryland, in Cecil County. She was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office, where it was determined she died of trauma.
State police investigators obtained and executed search warrants for Chiveral’s phone and two residences.
Troopers said evidence was found that led to probable cause supporting murder and child abuse charges.
