Investigators announced Saturday afternoon the arrest of a 23-year-old El Salvadoran man for the murder of Rachel Morin in Maryland last August.

Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez was arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, late Friday night after a 10-month investigation that included use of investigative genetic genealogy, local and federal investigators said at a press conference announcing the arrest.

Patricia Morin, Rachel’s mother, spoke briefly at the news conference, thanking law enforcement for working tirelessly to find her daughter’s killer.

The 37-year-old mother of five was found dead in in a drainage ditch along Bel Air’s Ma and Pa hiking trail on August 6, a day after her boyfriend reported her missing, as CrimeOnline reported. Shortly afterward, DNA evidence linked the murder to a home invasion and assault in Los Angeles in March 2023. The suspect was seen on video leaving the residence where the crime took place, but investigators didn’t know his name.

Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler said the breakthrough in the case came three weeks earlier when DNA evidence uncovered the suspect’s identity.

“Now we knew who he was, but we still didn’t know where he was,” the sheriff said.

That changed quickly over the past two weeks, Gahler said, as investigators tracked him to Oklahoma and obtained an arrest warrant Friday afternoon.

Gahler said that Martinez Hernandez crossed into the United States illegally in February 2023, a month after he allegedly killed a woman in his home country. While US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer on him, Gahler said that he will face charges in Maryland and California before he is deported.

The sheriff did not provide details about the arrest, but he said that the suspect faces a trespassing charge in Tulsa related to the arrest process.

Harford County State’s Attorney Alison Healey said her office has already initiated the extradition process to bring the suspect back to Maryland, adding that she would “personally be leading the prosecution of this case.”

Bill DelBogno, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Baltimore field office, said his team provided investigative genetic genealogy to identify family members of the suspect, and the agency’s legal attaches in El Salvador coordinated with Salvadoran authorities on the identification.

Gahler said that the suspect is believed to have some connection with Salvadoran gangs who helped him travel around the country, but he faces no charges related to gang activity either in the United States or El Salvador. He added that investigators have seen “nothing to indicate anyone other than him was involved” in Morin’s murder.

Maryland investigators have gone to Oklahoma to work on the case from there, he said. When he’s brought back to Maryland, Victor Martinez-Hernandez will face charges of first degree murder and first degree rape.

Antonio Shareek Williams Murders 3 Little Girls

Antonio Shareek Williams

Antonio Shareek Williams has been found guilty of killing three little girls in Maryland. According to court documents Antonio Shareek Williams was annoyed with his little sister Nadira Withers and cousins Ajayah DeCree, 6, and Ariana DeCree, 9 so he proceeded to stab the three kids to death. Antonio Shareek Williams would be arrested and would confess to the triple murder. Now hopefully Antonio Shareek Williams will spend the rest of his miserable life in prison with no chance of parole when he is sentenced later this year.

Antonio Shareek Williams More News

A Maryland man is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole after a jury found him guilty in the 2017 deaths of his 6-year-old sister and two young cousins.

The Office of State Attorney Aisha Braveboy said jurors deliberated for about two hours in a Prince George’s County court on Thursday before convicting Antonio Shareek Williams of murder and three first-degree child abuse charges.

Braveboy’s office said Williams’ sentencing is set for May 19.

Williams, 30, was accused in the fatal stabbings of his sister Nadira Withers and cousins Ajayah DeCree, 6, and Ariana DeCree, 9. Investigators said he had confessed to the crimes shortly after he was arrested.

I’m just happy these three innocent lives got the justice they deserve,” Kenneth Withers, the father of Nadira Withers, said after the verdict, according to the Associated Press.

All three girls were solely in Williams’ care the night they died as his mother was working an overnight nursing shift, according to arrest reports. The DeCree sisters were visiting from New Jersey and were the daughters of the mother’s cousin.

Prosecutors argued that Williams was annoyed at the girls for making noise and running up and down the stairs at the home. At trial, they argued that he grabbed a knife from the kitchen, went to the bedroom the girls were in, stabbed all three multiple times and then put the knife away.

His mother found the girls’ bodies the next morning when she returned home from work. They were pronounced dead at the house.

Local news outlets reported Williams’ 2-year-old sibling was also in the home at the time, but was not harmed.

Prosecutors said Williams cleaned up the scene and the knife, but there was enough DNA evidence to link him to the crimes.

He was arrested hours after the bodies were discovered.

“They should be enjoying their lives, pursuing their dreams, yet they were killed by a family member,” Braveboy said of the little girls.

Jonathan Church, a prosecutor who helped take the case to trial, said it took a long time to process because of turnover within Braveboy’s office, a change in defense attorneys and pandemic-related delays, the AP reported.

Devin Wilson Murders 8 Yr Old Brother

Devin Wilson

Devin Wilson is an eighteen year old alleged teen killer who would murder his eight year old brother in Baltimore Maryland. According to police reports Devin Wilson would shoot and kill his eight year old brother Dylan King. Apparently Devin Wilson was babysitting Dylan King along with three other siblings when the murder occurred. Devin Wilson would call his mother and told her to come home as Dylan King had been shot. When emergency personnel showed up Devin Wilson would point the shotgun to his head before surrendering the weapon to officers. Devin Wilson attempted to say that Dylan King had shot himself however the shot pattern told a different story and Devin Wilson was arrested for murder.

An 18-year-old Baltimore man was charged with murder in the death of his 8-year-old brother.

According to police charging documents obtained by 11 News, Dylan King was shot in his back, head and shoulders inside a house in the 2100 block of Presbury Street on Dec. 30, 2022.

Police said they found Dylan’s older brother, Devin Wilson, in another room in the house wearing clothes that were stained with a large amount of suspected blood. Police said Wilson was holding a shotgun to his forehead and that officers were able to talk Wilson into putting the gun down.

Police said Dylan was taken to a hospital, where he died. The medical examiner’s office ruled Dylan’s death a homicide by a single shotgun wound.

After multiple interviews, police said they learned that Wilson was on his own, watching his four younger siblings, ranging in age from 2 to 8. Police said Wilson called his mother to tell her to come home and that Dylan had been shot.

When the stepfather arrived home, he said Wilson told him Dylan accidentally shot himself, according to the charging document. But police said they were able to disprove that claim by the shot pattern in the room.

Police said Wilson bought the shotgun from an unknown person and that its purchase was not considered illegal because Wilson is 18 and has no known criminal background, and the firearm — a Silver Eagle pump action shotgun — is not considered to be a regulated firearm.

The charging document also reveals Wilson was able to buy a shotgun from someone after selling a puppy.

Wilson was arrested Tuesday on an arrest warrant that was issued on Jan. 10, charging him with first- and second-degree murder. He’s due in court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 15.

“Yousuf was a kind and gentle soul, a loving person who brought our family and his many friends great joy in his 24 years of life,” Rasmussen’s family said in a statement this week. “We will carry him with us forever.”

Following Negroponte’s conviction on Tuesday — in which the jury determined she acted with a “depraved heart” on the night of the stabbing — the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office announced that she is scheduled for sentencing on March 1, where she faces up to 40 years in prison.

The Negroponte family told The Washington Post that they are discussing a possible appeal with their attorneys.

egroponte is one of five children that John and Diana Negroponte adopted from Honduras.

John, now 83, enjoyed a lengthy career in politics dating back to the Reagan administration, over time serving as the U.S. ambassador to Honduras, Mexico, the Philippines, Iraq and the United Nations.

Under President George W. Bush, he served as the nation’s first director of national intelligence and eventually became the deputy secretary of state.

“Neither the prosecutors nor perhaps the jury took into sufficient consideration the complexities and mitigating circumstances of the case — Sophia’s past trauma and other factors that led to a very troubled existence. She’s had severe alcohol use disorder,” John told The Washington Post after the jury announced its verdict.

“We love and care for this young lady very, very much,” he added. “We don’t want to see her life wasted in prison.”

John, who sat in the second row of the courtroom every day of the trial, according to the Post, said his daughter has been living with him and Diana and has been sober nearly three years now, suggesting that she stopped drinking shortly after Rasmussen’s death.
