When investigators found 15 thawing body parts of a young woman in black garbage bags in a steep ditch in northern Italy last Sunday, they were unclear exactly where to start the identification process. It was clear she had been dead for months, but no immediate missing-persons search turned up any likely identities.

Though her body parts had been frozen—and reasonably well preserved—her face had been burned, making it impossible to identify her easily, police say. But seven of her 11 distinct tattoos were intact, so police started trying to match the tattoos to any known photos, posting some on a missing persons alert.

Within a few hours, she was identified as Italian-Dutch national Carol Maltesi, an adult actress who worked under the name Charlotte Angie. She started her career on OnlyFans during the pandemic and was picked up by several international pornography production houses, and had done several shoots abroad.

Among the tattoos still visible were the words “step by step” on her right ankle, “wanderlust” on her right collarbone and “elegance is the…” down her back. She also had an inverted “V” on one inner thigh and two inverted “V’s” on the other, which were recognizable in many of her porn films. It was soon clear that she had not posted on any of her social media since January, though no one had reported her missing. Her friends say they assumed she was off at some exotic location on a shoot.

Last week, police released her name to find out if anyone had information about her grisly demise.

Early Tuesday, police swooped in on the home of a 43-year-old banker named Davide Fontana in the northern Italian town of Brescia, charging with first aggravated degree homicide, dismemberment and concealing a corpse. Prosecutor Lorena Ghibaudo told reporters that the man came forward when her name was announced to say that he knew her but denied having anything to do with her disappearance.

Police said they soon found inconsistencies with Davide Fontana story and started tracking his movements over the last several months. A search of his home found an ample freezer, the same style garbage bags and DNA evidence linking him to the murder, police say.

Archival video surveillance allegedly showed the two of them in her car in January. The vehicle had not been seen after that until March when it was clocked going through a toll booth in Borno in northern Italy, near where the bags with her body were found. “This man, friend and neighbor of the victim presented himself to the Carabinieri to provide information about the missing woman, offering circumstances that immediately proved to be contradicted by the investigators,” Ghibaudo said.

When confronted with the evidence, prosecutors claim Davide Fontana confessed to killing her. Among the creepy details of his alleged confession were how he used her phone for the last three months to tell her mother that she had “left porn” and to send kinky messages to her boyfriend, who lives in Holland. After police published photos of her tattoos, several friends and fans wrote her to see if she was ok. “Yes, they look like mine,” Fontana allegedly wrote, pretending to be Maltesi. “But luckily I’m ok.” Fontana’s impersonation allegedly aroused no suspicion and he told police that no one called the phone number since January.

The man allegedly told police that he had “accidentally” killed her during a consensual tryst, and then, not knowing what to do, cut her up and put her in garbage bags in first her freezer and then later his. Many parts of the body are burned, including her face, and other body parts are missing, leading police to investigate whether he discarded, ate or destroyed them in a ritual.

Bryant Marshall has just been sentenced to 65 years in prison for the murder of Marlene Brown in Danville Illinois. A man who used to live in Danville was sentenced to 65 years in prison this week for murdering his girlfriend in Dec. of 2018.

Bryant Marshall pleaded guilty earlier this year to murdering 29-year-old Marlene Brown. Court testimony established that Marshall began to suspect Brown of seeing other men, which culminated in an argument between the two on Dec. 15, 2018 at Brown’s home in Danville. Marshall threated Brown’s life during the argument and afterward, he hid himself inside her SUV with a gun.

When Brown went out to her car and opened the back hatch, Marshall was said to have jumped out of the car and shot her several times in the head. He was arrested later that night and fully confessed to the crime. Brown died from her injuries ten days later on Christmas morning.

During Marshall’s sentencing hearing, Katherline Smith, Brown’s sister, tearfully addressed the court and described the devastation her sister’s death had brought upon her family. Smith further expressed the adverse mental and emotional impact that the murder had upon Brown’s six children.

“They now have trust issues, they have permanent psychological scars, the perception of their world has changed, they fear the world now, and
their hearts are forever broken, as nothing or no one can replace that nurturing love they had from their mother,” Smith noted.

In rendering his judgement, Judge Derek Girton addressed Bryant Marshall specifically, saying his crime was “beyond senseless” and that Marshall himself was “beyond selfish.” The court noted that such a sentence was necessary to deter others from committing similar acts in the future.

Marshall must serve 100% of his sentence, followed by three years of supervised release after. He will also be required to register as a murderer for 10 years in accordance with the Illinois Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registration Act

The sentence must be served at one hundred percent (100%), and his sentence will be followed by three (3) years of Mandatory Supervised Release (i.e., Parole). Marshall pleaded guilty to the charge earlier this year, and at today’s sentencing hearing, Judge Girton heard details surrounding the crime. Marshall and Ms. Brown had a dating relationship, but Marshall unjustifiably began to suspect Ms. Brown of seeing other men. This misapprehension led to the two arguing at her residence on the 300 block of North Washington Street, Danville, Illinois, on December 15, 2018.

During the course of arguing with Ms. Brown, Marshall threatened her life. After the argument, rather than return to his own apartment, Marshall concealed himself in the back of Ms. Brown’s sport utility vehicle that was parked on the roadway just outside her home. He lay in wait,armed with a handgun. When the back hatch was opened, Marshall jumped from the vehicle and, in the middle of the street, fired multiple rounds into the head of his victim. Marshall was apprehended late that night, and he provided a full confession to law enforcement. Ten days later, on Christmas morning, then only twenty-nine (29) year old Marlene Brown succumbed to the injuries inflicted.

During the sentencing hearing, Ms. Brown’s eldest sister, Katherline Smith, addressed the Court, and she tearfully described the overwhelming devastation that Marshall’s crime has wrought upon her family. Most notably, Ms. Smith expressed the adverse physical, mental, and emotional impact the murder has had upon the victim’s six (6) children. She noted, “They now have trust issues, they have permanent psychological scars, the perception of their world has changed, they fear the world now, and their hearts are forever broken, as nothing or no one can replace that nurturing love they had from their mother.”

Judge Girton, in rendering his judgment, addressed Marshall specifically. His Honor poignantly noted that Marshall’s crime was “beyond senseless,” and that Marshall himself was “beyond selfish.” The Court further noted that the significant sentence was necessary to deter others from committing similar acts in violence. Such acts, as the Judge noted, unfortunately continue to escalate not just across this Country, but specifically here in Vermilion County

An upstate New York jury has been told that a man doused his ex-girlfriend in gasoline and lit her on fire after she put some of his items out on the curb.

Frank J. Bredt Jr., 33, is currently on trial for the 2018 murder of 27-year-old Elisabeth Bell.

On Tuesday, Bell’s brother Altemoos testified that he was present when his sibling was fatally set ablaze inside her Buffalo home, The Buffalo News reports. He said he heard Bell’s then-7-year-old child scream before Bredt ran down the stairs “fully engulfed in fire.”

Prosecutors say that Bredt caught fire after he doused Bell in gasoline and set her on fire in her bedroom. She died as a result while both Bredt and her daughter Isabella suffered non-fatal burns, The Buffalo News reported at the time.

The fatal fire occurred as the couple was in the midst of breaking up, prosecutors say. Just hours before the alleged attack, Bell put Bredt’s belongings out on the curb, assistant district attorney Rebecca Schnirel said; Bell also posted about tossing such items, including power tools, on Facebook, The Buffalo News reports.

“That is what set him off,” Schnirel told the court.

She characterized the couple’s relationship as toxic. Bredt stopped sleeping at the home about two weeks before the incident after living with Bell for years.

Bredt now faces two counts of second-degree murder for the death of Bell, an animal lover who spent her free time volunteering at an animal shelter. His defense maintains that he didn’t set the fire and that there is no evidence that he did. They claim that investigators decided he was guilty without proof.

“They started with their picture. Their picture was Frank Bredt, the arsonist,” his lawyer Brian Parker (who is representing him along with co-attorney Daniel DuBois) said in court. “And what didn’t fit, they brushed it aside. If it didn’t match their theory, they ignored it.”

The attorney also noted that his client, who appeared in court this week in a wheelchair, suffered burns to about half his body.

Kendra Beck, 20, and Takoda Miller, 23, were arrested March 22 and booked into the Pearl River County Jail after being indicted for the death of the child, which occurred in early October 2021, according to WLOX.

According to the indictment, the couple intentionally, knowingly or recklessly starved 5-month-old Kairi Beck of the nourishments needed to sustain life or growth.

The couple were also charged with felony child neglect after authorities say a second child who was 19 months old at the time was found to be neglected and abused.

The indictment alleges that Beck and Miller deprived the toddler of food, clothing, shelter, healthcare or supervision, resulting in substantial harm to the child’s physical, mental or emotional health. In addition, court documents say the abuse caused the child to become infested with lice, covered in feces and have severe diaper rash.

Abigail White, 23, allegedly murdered her partner Bradley Lewis, 22, at their home in Kingswood, Bristol, last week.

Paramedics were called to the semi-detached property in South Gloucestershire at around 8.20pm on March 25.

Another said: “Your family will miss you so much and those beautiful children of yours are going to miss you so much my brother.

“You have grown to be the man everyone wanted you to be, so respected and loved.”

Hanham Athletic Football Club (HAFC) also released a statement to Bradley, who played as a reserve.

They said: “HAFC are deeply saddened to advise that one of our reserve team players, Brad Lewis, passed away.

“We remembered Brad with a minutes’ silence before our fixture yesterday.

“Our deepest condolences to all of Brad’s family and friends.”

Police were scrambled to the home on Friday night following an “incident”.

The victim’s family are being supported by specially-trained officers as the investigation continues.

White-suited forensics officers were going into Bradley’s home over the weekend.

Detective Inspector Lavender said: “There continues to be a police presence at the scene of this incident and reassurance patrols are ongoing, so we’d encourage residents to please speak to officers with the local Neighbourhood Policing team if they have any questions or concerns.”
