The man charged with aggravated murder in the fatal shooting of four people in Ohio was arrested Saturday night in Lawrence, Kansas, the FBI’s Cincinnati field office announced.

Stephen Marlow, 39, was arrested by the Lawrence Police Department just before 10 p.m., according to John Porter, the police chief in Butler Township, Ohio, where the shooting deaths occurred.

Marlow is now in Lawrence Police Department custody, and arrangements for extradition are being made, Porter said.

The FBI had issued a wanted poster for 39-year-old Stephen Marlow, whom they said should be considered “armed and dangerous.” He has ties to Indianapolis, Chicago and Lexington, Kentucky, and “could be in one of these cities,” FBI Cincinnati had said on Twitter.

Marlow was wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of four people in Butler Township, a small town north of Dayton on Friday, police said.

Police responding to reports of gunfire shortly before noon found the four victims suffering from gunshot wounds at “multiple crime scenes” in a residential area, the Butler Township Police Department said.

The four victims were pronounced dead at the scenes. They were identified Saturday by police as Clyde Knox, 82, Eva Knox, 78, Sarah Anderson, 41, and Kayla Anderson, 15.

Marlow was charged with four counts of aggravated murder on Friday and a state warrant was issued for his arrest, according to the FBI. A federal arrest warrant was also issued on Saturday after he was charged with “unlawful flight to avoid prosecution,” the FBI said.

“At this time, we believe that he has left Ohio. Law enforcement agencies in multiple states have been made aware of this and are on high alert,” the Butler Township Police Department said.

Butler Township Police Chief John Porter addressed Marlow during a press conference Saturday, asking the suspect to turn himself in. “I want you to know that we want to help you. You have the ability to resolve the situation peacefully if you turn yourself into law enforcement as soon as possible,” he said.

Marlow is the primary suspect, police said.

Porter said they don’t believe there is a continued threat to the neighborhood but “we will continue to have crews in the area in case Marlow would return,” he told reporters on Friday. The Dayton Police Department Bomb Squad was also contacted “out of an abundance of caution,” he said.

Neighbors were asked to review any video camera footage from that day.

Porter said police were working to determine “if there were any motive to this horrible tragedy” and did not have any further information on the investigation.

“This is the first violent crime in this neighborhood in recent memory,” Porter said.

Marlow was believed to have fled the area in a white 2007 Ford Edge SUV with the Ohio license plate JES9806, police said.

He was described by police as approximately 5’11”, 160 pounds with short brown hair and was last seen wearing shorts and a yellow T-shirt.

What the coroner found later looked more like the aftermath of a car crash, Judge Karen Thomas said at Schuchart’s Sept. 2019 arraignment.

Schuchart initially pleaded not guilty in 2019 when she was arrested, but changed her plea to guilty in February to a single count of murder, according to documents filed in Campbell County Circuit Court.

The documents said Schuchart was home alone with her children in August 2019 when she called 911 to report Buttery was injured. Emergency responders arrived to find the boy in critical condition and he later died at a hospital.

Sean had a head wound at the time of his Aug. 6, 2019 death at Children’s Hospital, Thomas said. He also had fractures on both sides of his pelvis and throughout the rest of his skeleton. His bladder was detached and bleeding into his torso.

The paramedics who attempted to save him “observed lacerations that had scabbed over as well as bruises of varying colors across the boy’s body,” Thomas told the court.

An autopsy determined the death was caused by “homicidal violence,” documents state.

Stacey Schuchart More News

A Dayton, Kentucky, woman is awaiting sentencing following her guilty plea to a charge related to the brutal beating of her 1-year-old son that led to the child’s death, court records show.

Stacey Schuchart, 32, pleaded guilty last week to a single count of murder, according to documents filed in Campbell County Circuit Court. She previously pleaded not guilty in November 2019.

Documents say Schuchart was home alone with her 1-year-old son, Sean Buttery Jr., and her 3-year-old daughter on the afternoon of Aug. 16, 2019, when she called 911 and reported Sean had hit his head on the microwave and wasn’t breathing.

Emergency responders arrived at the house and discovered Sean in critical condition, “with a collection of injuries beyond bumping his head on the microwave,” the documents read

Sean was rushed to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center where attempts to save his life were unsuccessful and he succumbed to his injuries.

The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy and found the cause of death was “homicidal violence,” documents state.  The investigation found that any supposed contact between Sean’s head and the microwave didn’t contribute to his death

Instead, investigators found bruises covering Sean’s head, as well as injuries to the brain and eyes that were the result of multiple blunt impacts, documents say, adding the injuries were more akin to those found in “a serious automobile accident” rather than an at-home incident.

Investigators also found severe injuries to the child’s pelvis, consistent with him being stomped on or struck by a heavy object while on the floor, documents say. The coroner’s office ultimately determined Sean was “beaten to death.”

Documents say the injuries happened while Schuchart was alone with her two children and that she was the only one present at the time who was capable of causing Sean’s injuries.

Sean’s father, who left early for work on the day of Sean’s death and didn’t leave his workplace until after learning of his son’s injuries, indicated that Sean was uninjured the night before, according to the documents.

The children were not legally allowed to be in Schuchart’s care at the time of the incident, documents state, adding they had been removed from her home and placed in the temporary custody of her sister by court order.

Documents say the children had been living with Stacey Schuchart illegally for almost a month.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for noon on March 29, court records show. The Campbell County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office is recommending a sentence of 35 years in prison with parole eligibility after 20 years.

According to the documents, that sentence will run consecutive to any backup time Stacey Schuchart may have from previous convictions in Kenton and Campbell counties

Shannon Gilday Wanted In Jordan Morgan Murder

Shannon Gilday jordan morgan

Shannon Gilday is wanted for the murder of Jordan Morgan in Kentucky. Jordan Morgan was fatally shot at her family home in Richmond. According to police reports Shannon Gilday forced his way into the home armed with a rifle and would fatally shoot Jordan Morgan as she lied in her bed. After shooting Jordan Morgan Shannon Gilday was involved in an exchange of gunfire with her father Wesley Morgan who was injured however the injuries are not considered to be life threatening. Shannon Gilday would then flee the Morgan residence and Kentucky police have been searching for him since. Police do warn that they believe Shannon Gilday is armed and dangerous. Wesley Morgan is a former Kentucky lawmaker.

Shannon Gilday More News

Kentucky State Police have named a suspect in the killing of lawyer Jordan Morgan, who was shot Tuesday morning while at her parents’ Richmond home.

Shannon Vincent Gilday, 23, of Taylor Mill, has an active warrant for murder, burglary, criminal mischief, assault and two counts of attempted murder, state police said in a statement Thursday.

The investigation indicates Gilday forced his way into the home about 4 a.m., armed with a rifle, and almost immediately shot the 32-year-old Morgan while she was in bed, said Sgt. Robert Purdy, a spokesman for the state police.

While “there are still a lot of things we’re looking at” investigators currently “don’t believe there is any connection between the two previously,” Purdy said.

A  tip on Tuesday night from someone outside the area helped lead police to identify Gilday, he said.

Surveillance footage from the house in the 1200 block of Willis Branch Road showed a person investigators believe was Gilday before the incident, in a dark camo or tactical-style jacket and pants, a hooded sweatshirt, gloves and a facemask, walking around the house moments before the shooting, state police said.

After shooting Jordan Morgan, Gilday then allegedly confronted her father Wesley Morgan — a former Kentucky lawmaker — and gunshots were exchanged between the two. Wesley Morgan sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and Gilday left the scene in a white passenger car, Purdy said.

As for motive, he said it’s still under investigation. While police “may have ideas,” he said, they need to find Gilday. Purdy said they have no information about any connections Gilday had to Madison County.

“It doesn’t appear it was necessarily just a burglary,” he said. “There was a criminal action and a violent intent, we believe.”

But Purdy also said police didn’t necessarily believe Jordan Morgan was specifically targeted, adding, “we’re still trying to figure out exactly what happened.”

He would not say what kind of rifle the man carried, but said he may have been wounded in the exchange of fire before he fled.

“We need the public’s assistance in locating him,” Purdy said.

The Madison County Coroner’s Office has said Jordan Morgan was shot “more than once.”

Gilday is believed to be driving a White 2016 Toyota Corolla with minor damage to the front grill and a license plate of 379-VMJ. He is about 6-foot tall and 167 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Gilday does not have a criminal history, according to an online search of Kentucky records. He is considered armed and dangerous and police urge the public not to approach the vehicle or attempt to contact him.

Jordan Morgan was a lawyer who had also worked as a deputy press secretary for former Gov. Matt Bevin’s administration.

She earned degrees from Eastern Kentucky and Northern Kentucky universities. She earned her law degree at NKU.

Shannon Gilday Arrested

The search for Jordan Morgan’s murder suspect, Shannon Gilday, ended just after 4:30 a.m. Monday when he was found walking along Barnes Mill Road by Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Gilday is charged with murder, burglary in the first degree, criminal mischief, assault, and two counts of attempted murder.

Morgan was killed early Tuesday morning in a home invasion on Willis Branch Road in Madison County. She is the daughter of former state representative C. Wesley Morgan.

Police believe 23-year-old Shannon Vince Gilday, of Taylor Mill, forced his way into the home at approximately 4:00 am, armed with a rifle.

Once inside, police believe he shot and killed Morgan while she was in bed. Based on their initial investigation, police believe there was not a connection between Morgan and Shannon Gilday prior to the incident. Sgt. Robert Purdy said they currently believe she was not the target

After the initial shooting, police say Shannon Gilday confronted the homeowner when both fired gunshots at each other. The homeowner sustained non-life-threatening injuries and the armed suspect left the scene in a white passenger car.

Investigators are still working to determine a motive.

Katie Gilday, the mother of the suspect released a statement:

“First I want to state that I am greatly saddened for the Morgan family, friends and loved ones for the pain and suffering it is believed by the police that my son has caused them and especially for the loss of their daughter Jordan. It is a terrible tragedy.
My son Shannon Gilday, who I love so dearly, has not been of sound mind the last couple of weeks, distraught with the certainty a nuclear war is imminent. He spoke of building a bunker and the CIA following him. I tried to get him psychiatric help but to no avail.
I plead to Shannon to turn himself in so that he can get the help he so desperately needs.
Meanwhile, I thank my family and friends for their love and support and ask for our privacy as we navigate through this unthinkable tragedy.”

Police say they learned about Gilday following a “credible tip” Tuesday evening from someone who doesn’t live in the area.

“A lot of times, we say ‘if you see something or you think you know something, call us.’ And that clue and that credible tip is what led to the developments in this investigation.”
