According to an affidavit obtained by Channel 2 Action News, rapper Playboi Carti was arrested on felony charges after police said he choked his pregnant girlfriend in December 2022.

Police said the victim told them she arrived at 3750 Tuxedo Road NW in Atlanta to talk Playboi Carti, whose real name is Jordan Carter, about their baby and a paternity test because she was 14 weeks pregnant.

She said the conversation turned physical when Carter attacked her by grabbing her by the throat and pushing her into the bushes outside the home. The victim said she could barely breathe and thought she was going to die.

She also told police there were two other men at the home who stood by and did not attempt to break up the fight.

Another female witness jumped into the fight and tried to break them up but Carter was still holding the victim by the neck, the document said.

The victim was eventually about to get free and got into her car, where she said Carter entered and attacked her again.

She claims Carter tried to pull her out of the car and put his hand over her mouth as she was calling the police for help.

In the affidavit, police stated the victim had visible injuries to her neck, chest, and back area.

Carter, who is originally from the Atlanta area, was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault and hindering a person from making an emergency telephone call.

Carter was released on a $100,000 bond.

Channel 2 Action News reached out to Carter’s attorney Brian Steel who provided a statement, saying:

“Mr. Carter was falsely accused. Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney’s office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.”

Pablo Lyle, the Mexican telenovela star who fatally punched a man during a 2019 road-rage confrontation, was sentenced to five years in state prison on Friday.

Lyle, 36, was facing up to 15 years in prison after he was convicted of manslaughter in October. He was caught on camera throwing his fist at Juan Ricardo Hernandez, 63, at a Miami intersection in March 2019. Hernandez fell, cracked his head on the roadway and died at the hospital four days later.

The state, at the Hernandez family’s request, asked for Lyle to receive 15 years in prison — the maximum sentence permitted for the charge. Defense attorneys urged the court to sentence Lyle to a year and a day, the recommendation in a probation officer’s report.

“This is one of the most difficult determinations I’ve had to make,” Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez said. “Nobody here is going to be satisfied. Nobody here is going to forget the pain this has caused.

In addition to the five-year sentence, Lyle received eight years of probation and 500 hours of community service. Prosecutors told the Miami Herald Lyle will not get time served for the years he was under house arrest. Lyle’s attorneys said they plan to appeal the sentence.

Lyle, with his wrists shackled, scanned the courtroom from his seat. He looked calm, but his eyes told a different story. They went from slightly red to brimming with tears as the verdict was announced. It wasn’t the first time that he wept during the hearing.

Before the sentencing, family members of both Lyle and Hernandez took the stand. Tears trickled down Lyle’s face as his loved ones — and those of the man he fatally struck — spoke about how the 2019 incident changed their lives.

Lyle’s family, each referencing his character and remorse, begged Tinkler Mendez to spare him from years behind bars.

“Unfortunately, our families have been joined by this incident,” sister Silvia Lyle said in Spanish. “Peace we will never find with more pain and vengeance.”

But the Hernandez family remained firm. They wanted Tinkler Mendez to hand down the maximum sentence.

I know it wasn’t [Lyle’s] intention to kill him, but anything can happen in a second,” Hernandez’s fiancée Mercedes Arce said in Spanish. “Every action has a consequence.”

Lyle’s defense attorney said the actor repeatedly asked to apologize to the Hernandezes. Today, he had the opportunity to do so for the first time.

“I wanted you to hear it straight from my mouth,” he told the Hernandez family in Spanish. “With all my heart, I’m very sorry.”

He then turned toward the judge again.

“Mr. Hernandez lost his life because of something I did,” Lyle said. “It haunts me when I go to bed and it’s still there when I wake up.”

On March 31, 2019, Lyle and his family were heading to the airport after a 10-day vacation. They were in an SUV driven by his brother-in-law, Lucas Delfino, who got off on the wrong exit and cut off Hernandez as he tried to get into a left lane to make a U-turn.

Hernandez honked his horn, and when the cars stopped at a red light, he got out and approached the SUV at the intersection of Northwest 27th Avenue and 14th Street.

Delfino, too, hopped out of his vehicle and the two argued before it began rolling into the intersection because it wasn’t in park. He then ran back to the SUV, while Lyle had gotten out to try and stop the car.

That’s when Lyle charged at Hernandez — who had walked back to his car — and delivered the fatal punch. An eyewitness told jurors that Hernandez raised his hands and pleaded for Lyle not to hit him.

After delivering the blow, Lyle and his family drove off. He was later detained at Miami International Airport.

Lyle’s defense attorneys cast Hernandez as an unhinged attacker who banged on the door and cursed, terrifying Lyle’s wife and two children. They tested Florida’s controversial “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law, arguing that Hernandez was a threat and could’ve been going to get a weapon in his car. One was never found.

The trial, which was widely followed across Florida and Latin America, also had ethnic undertones, with Lyle referred to as the “Mexican actor” and Hernandez the “Cuban.” It even mimicked a Spanish-language drama plot: a wealthy, handsome son of privilege faces justice after killing a poor working man.

Young Thug Jeffery Lamar Williams RICO Trial Begins

Jeffery Lamar Williams Young Thug

Young Thug whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams RICO trial begins today and if the rapper is convicted will spend decades behind bars. Prosecutors are describing Young Thug as one of the creators of a violent street gang called YSL which stands for Young Slime Lime which is responsible for a long list of violent crimes from murders to shootings to carjackings and are associated with the Blood street gang. Young Thug defence team is portraying a hard working individual who is not only well respected in the music industry but is also very successful. One of the main factors that is causing sleepless nights for Young Thug is the amount of his co defendants who have already taken plea deals and have agreed to testify against him at trial. Needless to say there is going to be a ton of drama surrounding this trial with very severe stakes on the line.

Young Thug More News

Rapper Young Thug, accused by prosecutors of co-founding a criminal street gang responsible for violent crimes and using his songs and social media to promote it, is set to go to trial starting Monday.

The Atlanta-based artist, whose given name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, was charged along with more than two dozen other people in a sprawling indictment last May, with more charges added in a second indictment in August. Fellow rapper Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, was also charged.

Young Thug, 31, began rapping as a teenager and has become tremendously successful — performing around the world and starting his own record label, Young Stoner Life or YSL, where he serves as CEO. Artists on his record label are considered part of the “Slime Family,” and a compilation album, “Slime Language 2,” rose to No. 1 on the charts in April 2021.

He co-wrote the hit “This is America” with Childish Gambino, which became the first hip-hop track to win the song of the year Grammy in 2019. His hits, including “Stoner” and “Best Friend,” feature his squeaky, high-pitched vocals.

But prosecutors say YSL also has a darker connotation — a violent street gang called Young Slime Life founded by Young Thug and two others in 2012 and affiliated with the national Bloods gang. The alleged gang members named in the indictment are accused of committing violent crimes — including murders, shootings and carjackings — to collect money for the gang, burnish its reputation and expand its power and territory.

The indictment includes rap lyrics that prosecutors allege are overt acts “in furtherance of the conspiracy,” including a line from a song they say Young Thug released on YouTube: “I’m in the VIP and I got that pistol on my hip, you prayin that you live I’m prayin that I hit.” Another of his lyrics quoted in the indictment says, “I never killed anybody but I got something to do with that body.”

The original indictment charged 28 people with conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations, or RICO, law and also included other charges against many of them. Fourteen of them are set to proceed to trial, which starts Monday and is expected to last months.

Eight others, including Gunna, have already taken plea deals in the case, and six — four of whom don’t have lawyers and two who haven’t been arrested — will be tried later, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The August indictment accuses Young Thug of racketeering conspiracy and participation in criminal street gang activity, as well as drug and gun charges.

One of 11 siblings with six children of his own, Young Thug has deep roots in his native Atlanta and works tirelessly at his art and other legitimate, lawful business ventures, his lawyers said in a May court filing that unsuccessfully sought his release on bond.

Attached to that filing were letters from more than a dozen music industry executives who have worked with Young Thug. They describe him as one of the most successful hip-hop artists in the world, a dedicated father and friend, a generous contributor to his community and a nurturing mentor to other artists.

In addition to specific charges, the August indictment includes a wide-ranging list of 191 acts that prosecutors say were committed between 2013 and 2022 as part of the alleged RICO conspiracy to further the gang’s interests.

Included in that list is an allegation that Young Thug threatened in July 2015 to shoot a security guard who was trying to get him to leave an Atlanta-area mall. On numerous occasions, he and others are alleged to have possessed various illegal drugs that they intended to distribute.

The indictment also accuses alleged gang associates of trying to kill rapper YFN Lucci in the Fulton County Jail last February and says that an alleged gang associate shot at a bus in 2015 that was carrying rapper Lil Wayne.

Gunna pleaded guilty last month to one count of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act, entering an Alford plea, which means he maintains his innocence but recognizes that it’s in his best interest to plead guilty.

He said in a statement released by his lawyers that when he became affiliated with YSL in 2016, he did not consider it a “gang,” but rather “a group of people from metro Atlanta who had common interests and artistic aspirations.” Gunna also stressed that he has not cooperated or agreed to testify for or against any party in the case.

In court, before the judge accepted the plea, when a prosecutor said that YSL is a music label and a gang and that Gunna had knowledge that its members or associates had committed crimes in furtherance of the gang, Gunna responded, “Yes, ma’am.”

He was sentenced to five years with one year commuted to time served and the balance suspended. He also must testify truthfully if called by any party in the case and must do 500 hours of community service, including talking to young people about the “hazards and immorality of gangs and gang violence.”

The other two alleged co-founders of the YSL gang — Walter Murphy and Trontavious Stephens — also each pleaded guilty last month to one count of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act. Murphy was sentenced to 10 years, with one year commuted to time served and nine years of probation. Stephens also got 10 years, with two years commuted to time served and eight years of probation.

Ron Jeremy To Be Declared Incompetent To Stand Trial For Rape

Ron Jeremy mugshot

Ron Jeremy the former porn star is expected to be declared incompetent and unable to go forward to trial on multiple counts of sexual assault. According to police records Ron Jeremy was arrested and charged with more than thirty counts of sexual assault. However his mental competence has been a hindering point to go forward with prosecution and now it is believed that due to severe dementia the former porn star is going to be declared incompetent.

However if Ron Jeremy mental health improves in the future prosecutors can return to charge him with the multiple counts of sexual assault. The accusations range back to the mid nineties with the age of victims ranging from 15 to 51 years old at the time of the crimes. Ron Jeremy pleaded not guilty in 2021.

Ron Jeremy More News

Ron Jeremy will reportedly be declared incompetent to stand trial for more than 30 counts of rape.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the retired adult film star, 69, whose legal name is Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, is suffering from “severe dementia” and will be declared unfit for trial on Jan. 17 and likely be placed in a state-run hospital, following allegations from at least 20 women since June 2020.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and an attorney for Hyatt (Ron Jeremy) did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

In an email obtained by The Times, L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson said that mental health experts enlisted by both the prosecutors and Hyatt’s legal team determined his condition, of which there was no evidence he was faking.

“As a result of the agreement of the experts, the defendant will be declared incompetent to stand trial … his prognosis for improvement is not good,” Thompson wrote.

“If he does not improve, we will not be able to try him for his crimes,” he continued. “Because criminal proceedings are suspended as long as he is incompetent, we also cannot get a guilty plea from him or discuss other measures to get justice for the victims in this case.”

Hyatt can still be declared fit for trial in the future if his condition improves.

Some of Hyatt’s relatives reportedly suspected that he suffered from dementia before his arrest in 2020, according to the email. Experts reached their conclusion based on medical documents, as well as interviews with Hyatt, his relatives and L.A. County sheriff’s deputies who interacted with him during his incarceration.

Lianne Young, a former British adult film star and one of Hyatt’s accusers, told The Times she was “kind of numb” after hearing of the decision, noting that his indictment sparked a necessary conversation about consent in the adult film industry.

“It’s going to come down to public opinion now, and public opinion has looked at Ron like a god,” Young said. “It could be an indication to other predators or viewers of pornography that they can get away with such crimes.”

In August 2021, Hyatt was indicted on more than 30 counts of sexual assault, with accusations dating back to 1996 and victims ranging from ages 15 to 51. He pleaded not guilty and has maintained his innocence.

Hyatt was initially charged with a dozen counts of forcible rape, seven counts of forcible oral copulation, six counts of sexual battery by restraint, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, two counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious or asleep person and one count of committing a lewd act on a minor.
