More legal trouble for Baltimore boxing champion Gervonta Davis.

On Tuesday Davis was arrested in Parkland, Florida on a domestic battery charge.

An arrest report obtained by The Associated Press said Davis hit the woman with a “closed hand type slap” at a home in Parkland, Florida, on Tuesday, causing a small abrasion to the inside of her upper lip.

Davis, 28, remained in a Broward County jail Wednesday afternoon on a domestic violence charge of battery causing bodily harm, according to criminal records and a jail official.

News of the arrest comes just days before a January 7 fight on Showtime against Hector Luis Garcia in Washington, D.C.

The incident is Davis’ latest run-in with the law, as he is also preparing to go on trial in February for a 2020 hit and run crash in Baltimore that left a woman hospitalized.

It’s also not the first time that Davis has been accused of domestic violence.

In February 2020 Davis was charged for allegedly battering his former girlfriend in Coral Gables, Florida. That case was ultimately dropped, ESPN reported.

For now, the undefeated 130 pound championship fighter is still scheduled to face-off against Ryan Garcia on April 25 in Las Vegas.

A Russian teenager was on Wednesday sentenced to life in jail for killing six people in a shooting spree on a university campus in 2021, investigators said.

During an attack — one of the worst in recent Russian history — first year law student Timur Bekmansurov roamed through a busy university campus in the Urals city of Perm, some 1,300 kilometres east of Moscow, wielding a hunting rifle.

The shooting by the 19-year-old claimed the lives of one man and five women aged between 18 and 66, and injured dozens more before Timur Bekmansurov was arrested.

He was found guilty on multiple counts of murder committed “for motives relating to hooliganism” and sentenced to life in prison, the Investigative Committee said in a statement.

During his trial, Bekmansurov fully admitted his guilt and asked the court for a more lenient sentence.

The Perm shooting in September 2021 was the second such attack that year, after a 19-year-old former student shot dead nine people at his old school in the city of Kazan in May.

Mass shootings at schools and universities in Russia are relatively rare and prompted lawmakers to tighten laws regulating access to guns.

The last major shooting took place in September in the central Russian city of Izhevsk, where a man opened fire in his former school, leaving 18 people dead, most of them children.

Latarsha Sanders Gets Life For Voodoo Murders Of 2 Sons

Latarsha Sanders

Latarsha Sanders is a woman from Massachusetts who was just sentenced to life in prison for the murder of her two young sons in what authorities called a Voodoo ritual. According to court documents Latarsha Sanders would stab 8-year-old Edson Brito and 5-year-old La’son Brito over a hundred times in what was called a Voodoo ritual. However another theory was that Latarsha Sanders planned the murders so she would be able to create a Gofund Me campaign in order to profit over the killings. Latarsha Sanders was convicted of 2 counts of murder and one count of witness intimidation. She was automatically sentenced to two life terms without the possibility of parole.

A mother from Brockton, Massachusetts, allegedly stabbed her two young sons to death with a kitchen knife and then told police that their deaths were part of a voodoo ritual.

Latarsha L. Sanders, 43, was arrested earlier this week, Fox News reported. During her Tuesday arraignment hearing, Assistant Plymouth District Attorney Jessica Kenny said that Sanders claimed she stabbed her 8-year-old son Edson “Marlon” Brito for the ritual, but it didn’t work, according to the Boston Herald. So then, Sanders allegedly stabbed 5-year-old Larson Brito to death.

“She said she had stabbed him because she had ‘failed’ in the ritual with Marlon (Edson),” Kenny said. “She responded to police that she felt bad about what she had done.”

The elder son was stabbed 50 times, according to an early autopsy report. Police said that Sanders admitted to the murders.

According to the Boston Globe, just two days before the two boys were found brutally murdered, Sanders was allegedly talking about killing someone to get a human heart for her dying dad.

On Tuesday, the mother pleaded not guilty to murder. She is being held without bail, and it’s unclear if she has a lawyer who can represent her at this time.

Sanders’ mother, Earline Sanders, allegedly told police that Sanders was “mentally unstable and crazy” and refused treatment. She also said that Sanders had become obsessed with the Illuminati, rituals, numerology and sacrifices. Sanders was reportedly rambling about the Illuminati to her mother since Friday.

The discovery of the grisly murders occurred on Monday after Sanders ran screaming and crying to her neighbor. The boys were found under blankets. She told police she was motivated by “voodoo stuff,” reported the Boston Globe

“All crime scenes are grisly. But these victims were innocent children. This was a gruesome and disturbing and, most of all, a heartbreaking crime,” Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz said on Monday, according to the Boston Herald.

Voodoo practitioners and academics told the Globe the religion does not condone violence.

A judge set bail Tuesday for a homeless woman accused of giving birth in the woods and abandoning her newborn on Christmas night.

Alexandra Eckersley, 26, appeared in court by phone from a hospital and pleaded not guilty to charges including second-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, falsifying physical evidence and reckless conduct.

In court Tuesday, prosecutor Carl Olson requested Eckersley be held on preventative detention. He argued that she was already out on bail for a separate endangering-the-welfare-of-a-child case out of Concord and failed to appear for an October court date in that case.

“Sometimes, actions really do speak louder than words, and her actions were not of somebody seeking help,” Olson said.

According to Olson, her family said they had offered to help and give her a place to stay – if she sought out treatment – and she did not do so. Her mother said she feels the safest place for Eckersley to be is incarcerated, according to officials.

“This is an incredibly fortunate circumstance that the child was found when it was, and it didn’t delay further,” Olson said.

Defense attorney Jordan Strand argued that Eckersley should be released on personal recognizance bail and that her actions, including calling 911 after the birth, show no evidence of dangerousness.

“I think that what this affidavit shows is that someone asked for help when they needed it,” Strand said. “This is a woman who unexpectedly gave birth while she is being unhoused and living in a tent, and we don’t penalize people for being unhoused and living in a tent.”

In her order, Judge Diane Nicolosi set bail at $3,000 cash. Conditions of bail include that Eckersley cannot have direct or indirect contact with her newborn son and that she must live at a sober living facility or with her parent or another residence approved by the state or court if no agreement is reached.

Eckersley was arrested Monday. She is accused of telling first responders she gave birth to a prematurely born baby boy on a soccer field. Crews searched in the wrong area for an hour before police said she informed them of the true location of the tent, officials said.

First responders raced down a footpath in the dark to reach the child, who was described by fire officials as moving, not crying, exposed and in the cold, without a blanket and next to a bed covered in blood. The temperature was around 15-18 degrees.

According to court paperwork, Eckersley said she did not know she was pregnant, but detectives said they spoke with someone who knew Eckersley and that she told them a week prior she was at least four months pregnant.

Jellisa Baxter Murders 3 Year Old Daughter

Jellisa Baxter

Jellisa Baxter is a woman from Florida who has been charged with the murder of her three year old daughter. According to police reports Jellisa Baxter would stab her daughter repeatedly and then would call 911. When emergency personnel arrived at the scene it would be too late to save the little girl. Jellisa Baxter would be arrested and has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.

Jellisa Baxter More News

A young mother has been arrested and charged after she allegedly confessed to killing her 3-year-old daughter in their North Miami Beach home early Tuesday, court documents show.

Jellisa A. Baxter, 24, was being held Tuesday on no bond after she was booked on several charges, including first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse, according to court documents.

According to police, the woman has no local relatives and her father lives in New York.

Police said she did not have a previous criminal record with local law enforcement agencies.

Police said the young mother allegedly stabbed her young daughter several times in their third-floor apartment located in the 1000 block of NE 163rd Street.

Investigators said the woman called 911 around 2 a.m. and told the emergency operator that she had stabbed the girl.

When police and fire rescue arrived, there were unable to save the girl.

According to the arrest affidavit, Baxter was in the living room wearing a white robe and the body of her young daughter was nearby.

The mother allegedly tried to strangle the girl to death but was unable to do and used a knife instead, the affidavit says.

Paramedics said the girl suffered from “deep stab wounds” to her chest, neck and face. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

The knife believed to have been used during the killing was found next to her body and collected by police as evidence, court documents say.

Baxter was taken into custody and declined to speak further about the incident, according to the affidavit.

Julia Gutierrez, who owns a business in the area, said she’s been there two years and has never heard of anything like this happening before in the neighborhood.

“I have four kids with me so I’m so really scared,” she said. “We have a saying, you need to look for help, don’t do that to kids.”
