Nicolas Alexander is an alleged killer from Louisiana who has been charged with the murder of Officer Marc Brock

According to police reports Officer Marc Brock was serving a warrant on Nicolas Alexander for cyber stalking when Alexander would open fire shooting through the closed door striking the Officer. Marc Brock would be rushed to the hospital and die from his injuries

After a two hour standoff Nicolas Alexander would be taken into custody and has been charged with murder along with other offenses

A Vivian police officer was shot and killed Friday evening, according to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office. KTBS 3 News learned Saturday morning that his name is Marc Brock.

The Vivian Police Department responded to a home in the 1700 block of North Pine Street to serve a warrant for cyberstalking to Nicolas Alexander, 58.

CPSO says when officers arrived, multiple shots were fired through the closed door injuring one of the officers.

Brock was transported to North Caddo Medical Center, but later died.

Alexander barricaded himself inside the home after the shooting, later surrendering to police after a two hour standoff.

Alexander has been charged with second-degree murder and cyberstalking. He has been booked at the Caddo Correctional Center.

Brock was a nonfaculty coach at North Caddo High School in Vivian and a 2018 graduate.

According to a Facebook post, the Vivian Chamber of Commerce is organizing a Meal Train to help the Brock family

A Vivian police officer was shot and killed in the line of duty Friday evening. 

Vivian Police officers responded to a residence in the 1700 block of North Pine Street around 5:30 p.m. to execute an arrest warrant for Nicolas Edward Alexander, 58, who is accused of cyberstalking.

According to a news release from Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, when officers arrived at the front door, Alexander fired multiple shots through the closed door, injuring one of the officers.

The wounded officer was taken to North Caddo Medical Center where he later died. 

Police say after the shooting, Alexander barricaded himself inside the residence. Following a standoff that lasted more than two hours, he surrendered to the Caddo Sheriff’s Special Response Team without further incident. 

Detectives charged Alexander with second-degree murder and cyberstalking.

“This is a devastating day for all area law enforcement families and the entire Vivian community,” the news release said. “The fallen officer served with honor, courage, and compassion. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. His bravery and service will never be forgotten.”

The investigation is ongoing with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office. The name of the fallen officer has not yet been released.
