wo women were arrested after they allegedly set a dog on fire and killed it this past week in South Carolina.
Sister-station WHNS reported that the women — 26-year-old Cassidi Bailey Hyatt and 28-year-old Jada Rogers — lit the dog on fire on Friday, Oct. 10 along Linersville Road in Union County, S.C.
Arrest warrants obtained by WHNS revealed the woman poured gasoline on the dog and set it on fire.
It was unclear what type of dog was involved, or if it was theirs.
Union County jail records showed Hyatt and Rogers were arrested two days later, and were both charged with ill treatment of animals/torture. They were still in jail as of this writing, both under a $10,000 bond.
According to South Carolina law, the women could spend up to five years in prison and could be subject to a fine up to $5,000 if they are convicted of the charge.
The house where the alleged crime happened is about a mile and a half outside of the Buffalo, S.C. community, about 40 minutes southeast of Spartanburg down the Highway 176 corridor.

A report from the Union County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a home on Linersville Road Friday night
Arrest warrants for Cassidie Hyatt and Jada Rogers said they caused unnecessary pain and suffering for a dog when they poured gasoline on the animal and set it on fire while it was still alive.
Both were charged with ill treatment of animals and booked into the Union County Detention Center.
