A 16-year-old girl has been charged in the stabbing death of a 14-year-old girl outside the Dickerson Pike Walmart.

Metro police reported Isabelle Jocson, 16, was charged with criminal homicide for Monday night’s stabbing of Malia Powell, 14, in the parking lot of the Walmart near a bus stop

According to a release, Malia and Isabelle exchanged words inside the store, which continued into the parking lot and to the nearby bus stop.

The teen suspect reportedly asked Malia if she wanted to fight and then charged at her while holding a pocketknife, according to Metro police. After the stabbing, the suspect ran away toward Doverside Drive.

Investigators do not believe Malia and Isabelle knew each other prior to the stabbing.

Metro police told News Channel 11’s sister station News 2 in Nashville that they are investigating potential suspects since the attack was recorded on a cell phone. No arrests have been made at this time.

Metro Nashville Public Schools released a statement, saying the district is “saddened by the tragic death of Malia Powell Ridley.” She was a rising 9th grader who had recently completed 8th grade at Bellevue Middle and was enrolled to attend Hillwood High in the upcoming school year, according to MNPS spokesperson Sean Braisted.

Leiyla Cepeda is an alleged teen killer who would murder her newborn soon after giving birth to the little girl. According to police reports Leiyla Cepeda, who was seventeen at the time of the murder, would give birth to a little girl and then proceeded to stab the newborn to death with a pair of scissors. Leiyla Cepeda who is from Texas was in Colorado when the murder took place. Leiyla Cepeda who is now eighteen years old is now facing murder charges and will be tried as an adult.

A teen mother is accused of stabbing her newborn daughter to death, according to the Weld County District Attorney’s Office.

Leiyla Cepeda, 18, of Texas was arrested and charged Friday with two counts of first-degree murder. She was 17 years old at the time of the alleged crime and has been charged as an adult, according to the district attorney’s office.

Cepeda’s arrest affidavit shows officers with Nunn and Ault police departments were dispatched around 3:08 a.m. Wednesday to a home in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue in Nunn for a death investigation. Responding officers learned there had been a child birth, and the baby had possible stab wounds, the affidavit states.

Leiyla Cepeda told responding medical personnel that she wasn’t feeling well and that her family did not know she was pregnant, arrest documents show. She said she delivered the baby, who was not breathing, and used a small pair of scissors to cut the umbilical cord before going to shower, the affidavit says.

According to the affidavit, officers noticed what appeared to be stab wounds to the torso and chest of the deceased newborn. Officers also found a small pair of scissors, which appeared to have dried blood on them, according to the affidavit.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist in the investigation, and Cepeda was taken to a hospital for treatment.

In an interview with investigators, Cepeda said she thought she was pregnant but wasn’t sure, according to the affidavit. She told investigators she had several periods and took a pregnancy test, which came out negative, the affidavit says.

During the interview, Cepeda said she started having really bad cramps and contractions and explained that around 1:30 a.m., she felt the baby might be ready to come out and she could feel it crowning, the affidavit states.

Cepeda told investigators that roughly 40 minutes later, she felt like she had to push. Per arresting documents, Cepeda said she stood up and “[the baby] fell out of me.” The baby, a girl, was quiet and not moving, Cepeda said, according to the affidavit.

Cepeda told investigators the umbilical cord had ripped and the baby fell out head first; the baby’s face was purple and she wasn’t crying or moving, according to the affidavit.

The teen told police she then rolled the baby up in a towel and left her covered with a sweater, went to her closet to get a pair of scissors to cut part of the umbilical cord, then went to take a shower, according to the affidavit.

During questioning, Cepeda denied harming the newborn, according to the affidavit.

An autopsy was performed on the newborn and determined she was born alive, the affidavit states. The coroner noted “a significant number of puncture wounds” to the baby’s chest, rib cage and abdomen.

The coroner determined the baby died of multiple sharp force injuries and the manner of death to be a homicide, arresting documents show.

Cepeda is currently in custody at a local hospital. A court date has not yet been set.

15 Year Old Teen Killer Stabs Kayla Green to Death

A fifteen year old girl has been charged with murder after stabbing sixteen year old Kayla Green to death in Mount Vernon. According to police reports Kayla Green and other students were celebrating their high schools recent State championship win when the alleged teen killer would stab Kayla Green and injure another student. Kayla Green would die from her injuries. Kayla Green family has said that the alleged teen killer had a history of bullying their daughter. The alleged teen killer has not been named due to her age however if she is charged as an adult chances are her name will be released in the future.

Mount Vernon Police Investigating Fatal Stabbing

For Immediate Release: Mount Vernon, NY April 8, 2022

Today, at approximately 3:55pm, Mount Vernon Police responded to the area of East Prospect and Gramatan Avenues. Upon arrival, respondent officers found multiple female combatants and discovered two minor females stabbed, one with non-life-threatening lacerations and the second with a critical stab wound. The gravely injured minor then succumbed to her injuries in transport to Jacobi Medical Center.

The Mount Vernon Police Department Wellness Division and City of Mount Vernon are working with the Mount Vernon School District, victims, family, and friends in real-time during this active investigation where we will be providing crisis counseling and support to those involved and impacted in this senseless tragedy.

A Westchester County judge on Monday ordered the 15-year-old girl suspected in the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Kayla Green in Mount Vernon to remain in custody.

Members of the community gathered at city hall to mourn and heal. A rally in Green’s memory was held just hours after her family attended the suspect’s arraignment, CBS2’s Tony Aiello reported.

“Nobody deserves to die. Let our young people live up to their fullest potential,” City Councilman Derrick Thompson said.

People gathered to remember a special girl who had so much to look forward to.

Now her mother, Lavern Gordon, faces the ultimate agony of losing a child, who people say was full of joy and ready to conquer the world, CBS2’s Dick Brennan reported.

Gordon got a hug after a difficult afternoon in court. She faced the girl accused of killing her daughter.

“Kayla was a beautiful big sister and a special young woman with dreams and ambitions of becoming a doctor one day. She was a cheerleader, a captain, an inspiration,” said Shannae Haywood, a spokesperson for the family.

“Kayla had plans. She wanted to go to Morgan State University. She wasn’t a kid who hung out on the street. She was a good kid,” coach Mikeya Knox said.

CBS2 was the only news team outside court as the family shared their anger and pain.

The deadly stabbing happened Friday, minutes after Green participated in a celebration of Mount Vernon’s state champion basketball team. As she left, a dispute unfolded a block away.

Prosecutors said the 15-year-old suspect came armed with a knife that she had shown off earlier on social media. There was a dispute as Kayla Green sat in a vehicle.

A Mount Vernon cop tried to intervene as the suspect allegedly stabbed Kayla Green in the back and side.

“We want to thank the police officer that risked his life to stop a mob of misguided, violent teens. We thank him and his partner for recognizing that Kayla needed life-saving treatment and their efforts to save her have not gone unnoticed,” Haywood said.

The name of the defendant has not been released due to her age.

In court, the prosecutor said the defendant took steps to hide evidence, including the knife, as she fled the scene after the stabbing.

The 15-year-old was located in nearby Dobbs Ferry after the FBI assisted Mount Vernon police with technology to track her smartphone, prosecutors said.

The office of Westchester County District Attorney Mimi Rocah indicated the manslaughter charge may be upgraded when a grand jury reviews the case.

Rumors about alleged motives spread on social media. The suspect’s lawyer spoke exclusively with CBS2 after court.

“Everyone is jumping to conclusions. The things that are being said have nothing to do with what happened here,” defense attorney Pamela Hayes said.

Monday afternoon, upset residents gathered for an anti-violence event at the local Boys & Girls Club.

Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard told Aiello the senseless death of a promising young girl is an opportunity for parents to reengage with their own children.

“Who are their friends, who are they speaking to on social media? What pages do they have, what platforms are they communicating on?” Patterson-Howard said. “You have to get in your kid’s business.”

Hayes called it a tragic incident and hinted the suspect was acting in self-defense. Prosecutors strongly rejected that, saying the suspect showed a senseless and violent nature.

The Green family said the suspect had a history of bullying Kayla Green.

Leniz Escobar Teen Killer Guilty Of 4 Murders

Leniz Escobar is a teen killer from New York who participated in the murders of four people. According to court documents Leniz Escobar was seventeen years old when she lured five men: Justin Llivicura, Michael Lopez, Jorge Tigre ,Jefferson Villalobos and a fifth man to a park where they would be ambushed by MS-13 gang members. Four of the five men would be killed and the unidentified fifth man would escape and would later testify against the gang members and Leniz Escobar. Leniz Escobar would be arrested, convicted and will be sentenced later this year.

A woman who was accused of helping the MS-13 gang kill four young men on Long Island in 2017 has been found guilty on all counts, federal prosecutors said Monday. Leniz Escobar was convicted in connection with her participation in the April 11, 2017 murders of Justin Llivicura, Michael Lopez, Jorge Tigre and Jefferson Villalobos.

Escobar, now 22, faces up to life in prison when she is sentenced.

Escobar, also known as “La Diablita” or “Little Devil,” allegedly lured five men to a park in Central Islip to smoke marijuana. When they got there, the victims were attacked by gang members with machetes, knives, an axe and wooden clubs, prosecutors said.

One ran off, but the other four were killed. Prosecutors say the MS-13 members believed the victims were “members of a rival gang, at least two of whom had disrespected the MS-13 by posting photos on social media.”

The four victims — who were between the ages of 16 and 20 — were found hacked to death with what police described as “significant trauma” wounds that Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy Sini said at the time indicated the work of MS-13.

“After the attack, the MS-13 members dragged the victims’ bodies to a more secluded spot in the woods, piled them up, and then fled,” prosecutors said, adding that the bodies were discovered the following evening.

In the days following the murders, prosecutors allege Escobar “bragged to other MS-13 members about her role in the killings” and discussed the attack in detail in recorded calls with her boyfriend.

Prosecutors also say Escobar destroyed evidence of her involvement in the murders by disposing of a sweatshirt stained with a victim’s blood and tossing her cell phone from a car while being followed by the police.

“With today’s verdict, Escobar has been held responsible for the crucial role that she willingly played in orchestrating one of the most vicious and senseless mass murders in the district in memory,” said United States Attorney Peace. “The defendant showed utter disregard for human life by leading the victims into a killing field, to their slaughter, to enhance her stature with her fellow cold-blooded murderers within the MS-13 gang.”

More than a dozen MS-13 members and associates have been charged in connection with the 2017 killings.

MS-13, also called Mara Salvatrucha, is believed to have been founded as a neighborhood street gang in Los Angeles in the mid-1980s by immigrants fleeing a civil war in El Salvador. It grew after some members were deported to El Salvador, helping turn that country into one of the most violent places in the world.

The gang is now a major international criminal enterprise, with tens of thousands of members in several Central American countries and many U.S. states.

Dionne Timms-Williams Teen Killer Murder Doctor

Dionne Timms-Williams was sixteen years old when she and two older men would beat to death Dr Gary Jenkins. According to court documents Dionne Timms-Williams, Jason Edwards, 26, and Lee Strickland, 36 would attack Dr. Gary Jenkins in a sickening attack where they accused the married father of 2 of being gay. The lethal trio would punch, kick and stomp on the doctor while screaming obscenities at him. According to police this teen killer and the two men purposely went to the park to rob gay men.

In the end the trio would be arrested and convicted. Dionne Timms-Williams was sentenced to life and has to serve 18 years before eligible for release and Jason Edwards and Lee Strickland were both sentenced to life and must serve 32 years before eligible for release

Dressed in a black jacket and shorts with black socks pulled up to her knees Dionne Timms-Williams looked like just your regular teenager. Footage of her walking through a Cardiff street gave no suggestion she would go on to commit murder that night.

Having met with Jason Edwards and Lee Strickland in Queen Street the then 16-year-old made her way to Bute Park where she and her co-defendants were to target gay men to rob before setting their sights on Dr Gary Jenkins, 54. They proceeded to punch, kick, and stamp Dr Jenkins to death and left him – bloody, unconscious, and semi-naked – in the middle of the park before stealing his credit card and phone. They’ve now been locked up for a combined 84 years.

Dionne Timms-Williams and Edwards were seen kissing and embracing on CCTV moments after the attack in a sickening display of affection contrasting with the tortuous death Dr Jenkins had suffered at their hands. After leaving Edwards the teenager made her way to a garage to charge her phone and stayed the night with a friend.

Following her arrest she sought to pin the blame on Edwards and Strickland by claiming she was scared of them and was forced to take part in the savage beating of Dr Jenkins. But audio footage taken from a cafe from inside the park revealed the opposite.

Dionne Timms-Williams could be heard on the footage shouting at Dr Jenkins: “Money… now”. She also called him a “f****** pig, f****** d***” and was heard encouraging the others to hit the doctor as he lay defenceless on the floor. Following the attack she could be heard on the footage saying: “I needed that.” Before the attack took place she was heard saying: “If we’re staying in f****** Bute Park can we at least go and steal.”Dionne Timms-WilliamsTimms-Williams could be heard on the footage shouting at Dr Jenkins: “Money… now”. Not much was known about Timms-Williams during the trial and she was granted anonymity by the court during the proceedings but upon her convictions of murder the reporting restriction was removed following representations by WalesOnline and other media outlets, which you can see more about here. The teenager was sentenced to life detention with a minimum of 18 years on Friday.

Timms-Williams, now 17, lived at Castle Close, Creigiau, with her mother at the time of the murder. The court heard she had been referred to adult mental health services when she was 14 years old for feelings of overwhelming anxiety and anger. She was also believed to have borderline personality disorder and had a history of self-harm.

n mitigation her barrister Caroline Rees QC said: “She was young but despite that there was a catalogue of difference in her background that has led to vulnerability. She experienced trauma that has led to alcohol and drug dependency and a liability to exploitation in certain respects.

“We submit there’s no evidence against her of homophobic intent. She herself had just emerged from a same-sex relationship and her conversation with [witness] Owain Hill about him being gay was not hostile or aggressive.”

The court was also told Timms-Williams had a caution in 2019 for possession of a bladed article. She will initially serve her sentence in a young offenders’ institute before being moved to an adult prison.
