Devin Wilson Murders 8 Yr Old Brother

Devin Wilson

Devin Wilson is an eighteen year old alleged teen killer who would murder his eight year old brother in Baltimore Maryland. According to police reports Devin Wilson would shoot and kill his eight year old brother Dylan King. Apparently Devin Wilson was babysitting Dylan King along with three other siblings when the murder occurred. Devin Wilson would call his mother and told her to come home as Dylan King had been shot. When emergency personnel showed up Devin Wilson would point the shotgun to his head before surrendering the weapon to officers. Devin Wilson attempted to say that Dylan King had shot himself however the shot pattern told a different story and Devin Wilson was arrested for murder.

An 18-year-old Baltimore man was charged with murder in the death of his 8-year-old brother.

According to police charging documents obtained by 11 News, Dylan King was shot in his back, head and shoulders inside a house in the 2100 block of Presbury Street on Dec. 30, 2022.

Police said they found Dylan’s older brother, Devin Wilson, in another room in the house wearing clothes that were stained with a large amount of suspected blood. Police said Wilson was holding a shotgun to his forehead and that officers were able to talk Wilson into putting the gun down.

Police said Dylan was taken to a hospital, where he died. The medical examiner’s office ruled Dylan’s death a homicide by a single shotgun wound.

After multiple interviews, police said they learned that Wilson was on his own, watching his four younger siblings, ranging in age from 2 to 8. Police said Wilson called his mother to tell her to come home and that Dylan had been shot.

When the stepfather arrived home, he said Wilson told him Dylan accidentally shot himself, according to the charging document. But police said they were able to disprove that claim by the shot pattern in the room.

Police said Wilson bought the shotgun from an unknown person and that its purchase was not considered illegal because Wilson is 18 and has no known criminal background, and the firearm — a Silver Eagle pump action shotgun — is not considered to be a regulated firearm.

The charging document also reveals Wilson was able to buy a shotgun from someone after selling a puppy.

Wilson was arrested Tuesday on an arrest warrant that was issued on Jan. 10, charging him with first- and second-degree murder. He’s due in court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 15.

Verity Beck Murders Parents In Pennsylvania

Verity Beck

Verity Beck is a woman from Pennsylvania who is charged with 2 counts of murder. According to police reports Verity Beck would fatally shoot her parents Reid Beck, 73, and Miriam Beck, 72, and then would dismember them using a chainsaw. After her parents were dismembered the 49 year old Verity Beck from Abington Township Pennsylvania would hide the body parts around their home. Needless to say Verity Beck has been arrested and charged with 2 counts of murder

Verity Beck More News

A Montgomery County woman shot and killed her parents, used a chainsaw to dismember them and then hid their severed body parts inside their Abington Township home, investigators said.

Verity Beck, 49, was arrested and charged with the murders of her parents, Reid Beck, 73, and Miriam Beck, 72.

On Tuesday, around 8 p.m., the couple’s son drove past his parents’ home along the 1100 block of Beverly Road in the Jenkintown section of Abington Township. The man later told investigators that while he had received texts from his parents within the past ten days, he hadn’t heard their voices or received phone calls from them since January 7 even though he normally spoke with his mother every day.

The man noticed his parents’ vehicles were parked outside the home and all the lights inside were off. He then returned to his house and decided to bring soup for his sister, Verity Beck, who lived inside the Jenkintown home with their parents, because she had complained about being sick.

The man returned to his parents’ home that night around 9:30 p.m. and went inside. When he entered a downstairs bedroom he found a body on the floor covered by a bloodstained sheet, according to the criminal complaint. He also saw feet protruding from the blanket and assumed the body was that of his father.

Investigators said the man then called for Verity Beck who met him in the living room. During a 30 minute conversation, Verity Beck told her brother that things at the home had “been bad,” according to the criminal complaint. When her brother said that they needed to call police, Verity Beck told him that she needed “more time,” according to investigators.

The man, who was aware that his sister owned a handgun,  then left the house, returned to his own home and called police, according to the criminal complaint.

Abington Police arrived at the home around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and spotted lights on inside. They tried to make contact with Verity Beck at the front door but she never answered, according to the criminal complaint. More police units then arrived and secured a perimeter around the home.

Police then deployed a small remote-controlled robot into the first floor of the home to find Verity Beck as well as a drone to observe through the second floor windows. However, they still couldn’t find her at that point.

Shortly after midnight, three officers entered the home and noticed a strong odor inside. The officers announced they were inside the home and Verity Beck approached them shortly after, investigators said.

“Where are your parents?” one of the officers asked, according to the criminal complaint.

“They are dead,” Verity Beck allegedly replied.

Police then handcuffed the woman and removed her from the home.

The officers then discovered a human foot inside the home with a blanket covering the rest of the body, investigators said. They also found a chainsaw near the body, blood on the interior of a bedroom door and two trash cans inside the bedroom, according to the criminal complaint.

One trash can was empty while the other appeared to be heavy. When the officers looked inside the trash can they found a white linen covering something. The house was then secured and a search warrant was obtained.

Montgomery County detectives then found the body of a decapitated man wrapped in a comforter while processing the crime scene. They also found a furniture dolly partially underneath the body that investigators believe had been used to move the victim.

The detectives also found a 55-gallon trash receptacle nearby filled with trash bags with severed body parts inside, according to the criminal complaint.

Detectives also discovered a pillow that appeared to have been struck by bullets, a chainsaw, and more body parts inside a trash can in the garage.

Investigators also found unread newspapers from January 7, 2023, indicating the couple had been killed on that date when their son had last heard his mother’s voice.

Detectives also discovered a safe with drill marks on it mounted on the wall of a second floor bedroom and tools nearby, indicating someone without the key or combination had been trying to access the safe, according to the criminal complaint.

Investigators also searched through Verity Beck’s bedroom where they say they found three guns with spent rounds, two of which were registered to her and one of which had no record of ownership.

Later on Wednesday, a forensic pathologist identified the severed bodies found inside the home as that of Reid Beck and Miriam Beck. Autopsies determined that they both died from single gunshot wounds to the head and their deaths were both ruled a homicide.

Based on the evidence collected, investigators concluded that Verity Beck likely placed a pillow on her parents’ faces and shot them at close range before using a chainsaw to dismember their bodies, officials said.

Verity Beck was arrested and charged with first-degree and third-degree murder, which makes her ineligible for bail in Montgomery County. She is currently being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

“This is somebody that is dismembering her mother and father and putting body parts in trash cans,” Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said. “So clearly she’s trying to get rid of the evidence of her crime.”

Residents who knew Reid and Miriam Beck described them as a happy family who often spent summers at the beach. They were unaware of any issues happening inside the home prior to their murders.

Officials have not yet revealed a possible motive in the murders and continue to investigate. If you have any information on the case, please call Abington detectives at 267-536-1100, option #4.

Heavenly Arroyo More News

Heavenly Arroyo, an 18-year-old Fall River woman, who three years ago stabbed a 68-year-old woman to death inside her relative’s home, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Fall River Superior Court to Second Degree Murder, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.

The defendant was sentenced by Judge Renee Dupuis to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 19 years.

On Oct. 6, 2019, the defendant entered Ana Vasquez-Rodriguez’s bedroom and stabbed her 70 times.  The homicide took place in the Johnson Street home of the defendant’s great-uncle, who had taken custody of the defendant at the request of the defendant’s mother a week prior to the killing.  The victim was the mother of the great-uncle’s girlfriend.

On Oct. 6, the great-uncle and his girlfriend were planning on taking the defendant to New York to visit another relative and obtain some legal documents in order to help the couple to formally gain custody of the troubled defendant.  The trip, however, was delayed due to car problems.  As the day wore on, the defendant became increasingly agitated and impatient. Then, late in the afternoon, the defendant retrieved a pair of scissors from the kitchen, went up to the victim’s bedroom and murdered her.  The victim was bed-ridden after suffering a stroke and could not defend herself.

At the time of the killing, the only other person inside the home was the victim’s grandson, who was playing a video game with a headset on. After killing the victim, the defendant showered, disposed of her clothing in a nearby dumpster and told the victim’s grandson that his grandmother wasn’t well.  When the grandson looked in on his grandmother, he immediately called 911 and police arrived shortly thereafter.  At first, the defendant claimed she was outside with the dog and witnessed a masked man running from the home, but while in custody she made a series of inculpatory, spontaneous admissions.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Dennis Collins and Maryclare Flynn.

“This case was a tragedy for everyone involved. The defendant brutally murdered the victim, who was only trying to help her move forward with her life.  The defendant was 15 at the time and suffering from mental health issues.  However, the facts of the case clearly show she is a danger to the community and the state prison sentence is appropriate,” District Attorney Quinn said.  “My heart goes out to the victim’s family, who was present in court yesterday. There is nothing any of them could have done to prevent this terrible incident from occurring. I hope the resolution of this case brings some closure to them and they can try to move forward with their lives.”

Gavin Smith Teen Killer Gets Life For 4 Murders

Gavin Smith

Gavin Smith was a sixteen year old teen killer from West Virginia who would execute four members of his family. According to court documents Gavin Smith would fatally shoot four family members in the head. Now Gavin Smith has learned that he received the maximum penalty for a juvenile which is to spend the rest of his life in prison. Gavin Smith will be eligible for parole one day many decades in the future however it is unlikely he will ever step out of prison again.

Gavin Smith More News

An Elkview teenager who shot and killed four members of his family in December 2020 was sentenced on Tuesday to the maximum time in prison for the crimes.

Gavin Smith, 18, was found guilty during a trial in December of first-degree murder for the deaths of his stepfather, Daniel Dale Long, 37, mother, Risa Mae Saunders, 39, and brother, Jameson Long, 3. He was found guilty of second-degree murder for the shooting death of his other brother, Gage Ripley, 12.

The family was found dead in their Elkview home on Dec. 13, 2020. Investigators determined the shootings took place four days prior to their bodies being found by a concerned family member who hadn’t heard from them.

All of the victims were shot in the head at close range, according to testimony during the trial.

Smith’s attorney, John Sullivan, asked Judge Kenneth Ballard to sentence Smith to the Anthony Center for youthful offenders.

“There’s more to him than the offense he committed,” Sullivan said, calling the teenager a “thoughtful” and “intelligent” young man.

“He’s been locked up since he was 16 and basically would be growing up in the prison system,” Sullivan said.

Smith spoke briefly when it was his turn to address the court and said he wanted to apologize for his actions.

“I do regret this and if I could I would take it back because it is one of my deepest regrets,” Smith told the judge. “I am begging you, that if you do grant this alternative sentence, you won’t have an issue.”

Smith paused and spoke quietly to his attorneys before saying, “There’s days that I would do anything to take it back.”

Daniel Long’s parents, who adopted him when he was 14-months-old, told the court that they wanted the harshest punishment allowable under the law for Smith.

They both spoke how losing their only son and grandchildren has torn their lives apart.

“I never expected my life to be in such turmoil at this stage in my life,” Long’s father said.

Both parents also spoke particularly at how heinous Smith’s actions were that took his 3-year-old brother’s life, who they said loved Gavin “unconditionally.”

“I cannot comprehend how he could have taken his brother’s life,” Long’s mother said. “Just because he was 16 at the time, doesn’t make a difference. He still took lives.”

Kanawha County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney JC MacCallum asked Ballard to sentence Smith to the maximum on each count and to run the sentences consecutively.

MacCallum said Smith has continuously blamed others for his actions, including his girlfriend at the time, Rebecca Walker, pressuring him to kill his family so they could be together while on a video call with him during the shootings.

“This was a heinous crime, you murdered your entire family in cold blood,” Ballard said. “Your actions can only be described as an act of pure evil.”

Ballard sentenced Smith to three life sentences, with mercy, for the first-degree murder convictions, 40 years in prison for second-degree murder, and 10 years for use or presentment of a firearm. Ballard said the only reason he was granting mercy was because state law mandates that juveniles cannot be sentenced to life in prison with no mercy.
