Nashville police are searching for a teen suspect after California rapper Chris King was gunned down in what police are calling a robbery that turned deadly.

Police asked the public to be on the look out for 19-year-old Adrian Cameron, Jr. who is free on bond after 50-year-old Josh Evans was killed in September 2021 during what police called an attempted drug transaction.

Cameron was 17 at the time of the 2021 shooting and was charged with criminal homicide as a juvenile. A grand jury later indicted him as an adult on charges of voluntary manslaughter and possession of a weapon with intent to use it during a crime.

As a condition of his bond, Cameron was required to wear an ankle monitor. Data from the monitor shows it was cut off shortly after the shooting Saturday, police said.

Christopher Cheeks, 32, known as Chris King, was shot Saturday morning around 2:30 a.m. in an alleyway between Hayes and Church Streets in the Midtown area of Nashville. A 29-year-old friend of Cheeks was also injured in the shooting.

Police said Cheeks was with friends when three men walked up and began chatting with them.

“The 29-year-old victim reported the group was hanging out cordially for some time before the three suspects attempted to rob his group of friends,” police said in a statement. “It was then that he heard gunfire and realized he was struck.”

Cheeks and his friends scattered, fleeing in separate directions. Cheeks was found in the parking garage of the Hayes Street Hotel, while his friend was found on Church Street. Both were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where Cheeks ultimately died.

Celebrities including Justin Bieber, Keke Palmer and rapper Trippie Red posted on social media to mourn their friend.

Cheeks lived with Bieber for a short time. The singer reposted Cheeks’ photo of the two of them on Instagram after the news broke Saturday.

“Love you bro. This one hurts. Please keep his family in your prayers. See you in paradise brother,” Bieber wrote.

Palmer also took to Instagram to remember her friend.

“I can’t believe I’m saying rest in peace,” she wrote. “When we were babies, before everyone knew you was a real rockstar. We were kids! And you always knew how to make everyone laugh. Your kindness was present no matter what room you were in, everybody was and wanted to be your friend.”

Cheeks released his debut mixtape “Welcome to Fontana” in 2016. What followed were frequent collaborations with with his best friend, rapper Trippie Red. Red attributed his success in part to Cheeks.

“I would not be where I am today without [Chris King],” he wrote on Instagram. “He had the best energy always. He had so many friends and it shows. I love you guys for supporting one of my be friends ever.”

Police in North Carolina announced the remains of a missing 17-year-old have been found after several days of searching.

Investigation confirmed the remains were those of 17-year-old Baylee Carver, who was reported missing by police Friday. Her body was found around 4:55 p.m. Tuesday in Cabarrus County, north of Highway 49 and Route 601. An autopsy will be conducted, WBTV reports.

“We offer our deepest condolences to the loved ones of Baylee Carver. As they mourn their loss, our hearts are with them during this difficult time. The Albemarle Police Department is grateful for all of the assistance and resources provided throughout the course of this search. As the investigation continued, police arrested and charged 20-year-old Joshua Biles. He told officers that Carver, his girlfriend, was dead, and he had disposed of her body using a red Honda Civic

According to police reports Karon Fisher would purposely run down Steven Anderson with her vehicle and then would reverse the vehicle and run him down again. Fisher would then get out of her vehicle and stab the sixty four year old man nine times

Karon Fisher would be arrested and has been charged with murder

Karon Fisher News

A suspect allegedly seen on video running over a man twice with a car before straddling, kissing and fatally stabbing him multiple times in broad daylight has been charged with murder.

Karon Fisher, 20, is described in court documents obtained by KTRK-TV as a man, but is referred to as a “she” by the Houston Police Department. The homicide took place around 7:50 p.m. May 3, police said in a press release.

Neighbor video obtained by KTRK appears to show an intentional attack on the man who was said to be on his way to pick up his mail.

It shows the victim, identified in reports as 64-year-old Steven Anderson, turning around to look at the screeching white car barreling towards him, before it struck him and reversed to hit him a second time. The suspect, seen in all-black, then appears with a knife in hand before flipping Anderson over, straddling him, kissing him and then stabbing him nine times.

The suspect then tries getting into another car unsuccessfully before jumping over the victim’s body and taking off.

Officers were called to the scene regarding someone who failed to stop and help another person. Anderson was found by officers with multiple stab wounds already dead.

Witnesses led officers to the suspect at a nearby location. She was detained and questioned by detectives prior to being charged and taken to the Harris County Jail.

Local TV station KPRC said police do not know of a relationship between the suspect and the victim.

Fisher was reportedly on community supervision for evading arrest in 2023, according to KTRK. She was also charged with prostitution in 2021, but that case was dismissed.

Online jail records say Fisher’s next court appearance is May 24. Her bond amount has been set at $2.125 million.

Caitlin Thao
Caitlin Thao

Caitlin Thao was a substitute teacher from Minnesota who is now on the run as she is accused of having sex with a seventeen year old student

According to police reports Caitlin Thao was employed at St Paul City School in Minnesota when she allegedly brought the seventeen year old student into a empty classroom where the two engaged in sexual activity

Caitlin Thao reportedly told an employee at a mental health facility about the illegal encounter which led to an investigation where the seventeen year old would admit to police regarding the sexual encounter. Apparently Thao wanted to take the student home however he would decline

Police would charge Caitlin Theo with third-degree criminal sexual conduct however she would disappear before she could be arrested and a nationwide warrant has been sent out

Caitlin Theo News

A onetime substitute teacher at a St. Paul charter school has been charged with criminal sexual conduct for an alleged classroom incident involving a 17-year-old student.

Caitlin K. Thao, 24, of St. Paul was charged in Ramsey County District Court last week with third-degree criminal sexual conduct. The incident happened at St. Paul City School earlier this year.

A nationwide warrant has been issued for Thao’s arrest. Messages were left with Thao seeking her response to the allegations. Court records do not list an attorney.

Eric Fergen, interim executive director for the charter school on West University Avenue, said Friday that Thao “hasn’t worked with us for quite a few months.” Fergen declined to comment further.

According to the criminal complaint and a related court filing, the teenage boy told police on March 13 that the two had a sexual encounter about 1½ months earlier in an otherwise empty middle school classroom where Thao taught. Thao later invited the teen over to her home but he declined, according to the court documents.

After Thao resigned in late February, she reported the sexual conduct to a social worker while in the Regions Hospital mental health unit, according to the court documents.

Caitlin Thao Pleads Guilty

A former part-time substitute teacher has entered a guilty plea for having sex with a 17-year-old student inside a St. Paul charter school.

Caitlin Thao, 24, was previously charged in Ramsey County with third-degree criminal sexual conduct. On Wednesday, she entered a guilty plea on an amended charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

As part of her plea deal, Thao agreed to serve no more than six months in jail, not have contact with the victim, register as a predatory offender and have a psychosexual evaluation. She’ll also need to serve probation.

Court documents state police began investigating Thao last February after complaints were made about “inappropriate” behavior toward students.

School officials informed police that the victim, who had been in an English language learner class that Thao worked in, said he had “shared a non-alcoholic drink” with her and “she may have messaged him on social media,” according to the criminal complaint. Thao resigned soon after.

In mid-March, the victim told police he had sex with Thao, whom he said had been “overly nice” to him and communicated with him over messenger apps. The complaint states the victim claimed Thao “called him handsome and would flirt with him,” and the victim flirted back “because she would buy stuff for him and his friends.”

The victim said the sexual encounter occurred inside a middle school classroom in February, according to the complain, and he alleged Thao later invited him to her residence for more sex when her husband was away, which the victim turned down.

The criminal complaint states Thao’s husband discovered what had happened in early March and contacted the victim’s mom. The next day, Thao allegedly admitted the sexual encounter to a Regions Hospital social worker.

Thao’s sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 10

According to police reports Mary Isbell (above photo inset) was reported missing by her ex husband in December 2021. According to early reports police would go to the home of Mary Isbell and believed they found signs of a struggle however they found no sign of the missing woman

In June 2023 police would receive a credible tip that led to the arrest of Loretta Carr and her daughter Jessie Kelly. Eight days later the body of Mary Isbell would be found at Little River Canyon National Park

Police believe that Mary Isbell was kidnapped, brought to the National Park where she was pushed off of a cliff

Loretta Carr and Jessie Kelly have both been charged with kidnapping and murder

Prosecutors have announced they are seeking the death penalty against Loretta Carr

Loretta Carr News

A 44-year-old woman was indicted on a murder charge last week for allegedly kidnapping and pushing a 38-year-old woman off a cliff, killing her.

WHNT-TV reports Heather Carr is being charged with capital murder (kidnapping) in connection with the death of Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Isbell. The state will reportedly pursue the death penalty against Carr. A grand jury also returned an indictment against Carr’s daughter, Jessie Kelly, on the same charges.

Isbell’s ex-husband reported her missing to the Hartselle Police Department on Dec. 27, 2021. Police learned she was living in DeKalb County, so they began working with the sheriff’s to search for her. Detectives searched her home and found physical evidence that they submitted to a national database for identification but could not find a match.

DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Chief Detective Nick Brown told WAAY-TV there were “signs of a struggle” inside Isbell’s home.

On June 20, 2023, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office received “credible” information about Isbell’s disappearance and followed up on the lead. The tip led to the Carr and Kelly’s arrests. Kelly was in custody in Pennsylvania waiting for extradition to Missouri on other felony charges.

Eight days later, investigators discovered Isbell’s body at Little River Canyon National Park. Her remains were positively identified on June 30, 2023, on what would have been her 39th birthday.

WAAY reports investigators determined Carr and Kelly allegedly pushed Isbell off a cliff after kidnapping her.

Brown said Isbell, Carr, and Kelly were “all acquaintances, mainly through a boyfriend,” though it was not clear whose boyfriend specifically.

He added, “They all do come back to one specific person.”

Brown said, “It’s very inhuman, brutal what these ladies did to Mary.”

The woman accused of pushing another woman to her death over a cliff will be allowed to view the site where the alleged murder took place.

Loretta Kay Carr, 45, was charged in June with the murder of Mary Elizabeth Isbell, who was last seen in 2021 and reported missing in December of that year by her ex-husband. Carr’s daughter Jessie Eden Kelly, 22, has also been charged with killing Isbell, whose remains were found on June 28 at the Little River Canyon National Park, around 75 miles southeast of Huntsville, Alabama.

Prosecutors allege Carr pushed Isbell off a cliff inside the park

The judge overseeing Carr’s capital murder case has agreed to allow the defendant to physically revisit the scene where Isbell fell to her death, Huntsville Fox affiliate WZDX reported.

Carr’s lawyers had argued that “the facts of this case make it impossible for [Carr] to describe the scene to her attorneys in sufficient detail” and asked for the judge to allow her to view the crime scenes, WZDX reported.

In addition to being able to visit the cliff, defense lawyers requested access for other areas deemed crime scenes, including the home of Carr’s fiance, Robert Mitcham, and Isbell’s mobile home, where sheriffs say there is physical evidence that a struggle occurred, according to WZDX.

Local CBS affiliate WHNT reported that Carr’s lawyers also want to use body camera footage involving a police search of Carr’s home and footage from police officers’ interactions with Kelly.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Wheldon reportedly said that all the women knew each other and appear to have been connected through someone identified as a “boyfriend.”

According to a criminal complaint, Carr is accused of kidnapping Isbell in October 2021, WHNT reported. Court documents say that Carr is accused of “intentionally” causing Isbell’s death “by pushing her off a cliff,” according to WHNT

Isbell’s remains were positively identified on June 30, which would have been her 39th birthday.
