Tasha Haefs Murders Six Year Old Son

Tasha Haefs

Tasha Haefs is another so called mother who murdered her child. According to police reports they arrived at the home to investigate a noise complaint and what they found left them shaken. Tasha Haefs was covered in blood and they found the body of a six year old boy lying on the floor. According to the search warrant someone in the house had called police saying someone was trying to harm her and the devil was trying to attack her. Apparently during her rage Tasha Haefs would decapitate the six year old child as well as decapitating the dog. Expect a not guilty by reason of insanity in this case

Jackson County prosecutors have charged a 35-year-old Kansas City woman in the death of her 6-year-old son.

Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker said Tasha Haefs was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Kansas City police were called to the 7300 block of Indiana Avenue on a reported disturbance. According to court documents, officers arrived and found what appeared to be blood on the front steps. The officers determined a woman was inside but she refused to answer the door.

Officers also saw what appeared to be a severed head inside near the home’s entrance.

“They saw what appeared to be a blood trail to the front door and they looked in and saw something very disturbing,” Baker said.

Court records said that officers forced their way inside. Investigators said the woman had apparent blood on her and two knives were seen in the home, court documents stated.

“Because she was in such extreme mental distress, she did a series of things that were very disturbing,” Baker said.

Police identified the boy as Karvel Stevens.

No other children were found inside. A dog was also found dead in the home.

The Haefs allegedly told detectives the victim was her biological child. According to court records, Haefs allegedly admitted to killing the boy.

“Anytime it’s a child, it just takes on a different depth of despair,” Baker said.

Prosecutors asked that Haefs be held on no bond.

Baker released the following statement after charges were filed:

“The community now knows some of the terrible details of the death of this 6-year-old child. It takes our breath away. My office, as it always has, pledges to do everything in its power to bring justice in this young boy’s murder. We will not shrink from our responsibility.

“It’s difficult to imagine the grief for this boy’s family. For the child’s classmates. His friends. Neighbors. The first responders who went to this crime scene.

“I expect it leaves us not knowing what to do. We might look at our loved ones today and give some thanks to God or even say a prayer. Thank you, my child is safe today. But we want everyone’s children to be safe.

“We’ve announced today that the child’s mother is charged with Murder in the First Degree of her 6-year-old son and Armed Criminal Action.* She is being held in the Jackson County Detention Center and her bond request was “no bond.”

“It can’t stop there.

“This child’s death is a call for something more. Our community must heed the call. Law enforcement, prosecutors, public health officials, social service providers, all of our many partners must work together to address the violence. Strong collaborations are needed to lean into this difficult challenge, and better protect our community’s most vulnerable population, our kids.

“Regarding this case, we will review our systems and responses to examine more deeply if any opportunities for intervention were missed. But I should stress that we don’t know of any failed processes, and we acknowledge that one may not exist. This type of review, though, could produce a valuable lesson from this horrible event, something that might prevent future harm.

“Let’s also focus, Kansas City, on the violence among us. It’s a challenge we can no longer ignore. We cannot become complacent with 180 or 170 or even 150 homicides per year and hundreds more shot but not killed. We’ve seen the horror that can occur when we don’t work together to help our community members avoid a future of violence.

“Going forward let’s keep a clear goal: Reduce our community’s violence and alert mental health professionals whenever we are aware of someone in need of intervention.

Trinity Shakespeare Charged With Child Abuse

Trinity Shakespeare

This one is weird. Trinity Shakespeare is a woman from Nebraska who would give birth on the streets of Omaha and proceeded to walk away leaving the newborn behind. According to police reports Trinity Shakespeare was witnessed by a bunch of people giving birth to a little boy and then would be long gone before police showed up leaving the newborn child on the cold Omaha streets. Trinity Shakespeare has been arrested and has been charged with child abuse. Now Trinity Shakespeare was not alone as a number of good citizens came to her aid and wrapped her up in blankets and even called an ambulance, which Shakespeare refused to get into. Like I said this one is just plain weird. Needless to say the newborn boy is now in protective services.

Scott Kologi Teen Killer Family Massacre

Scott Kologi

Scott Kologi is a teen killer from New Jersey who is currently on trial for the murders of his parents, sister and a family friend back in 2017. According to court documents Scott Kologi would fatally shoot  Linda Kologi, 44, father Steven Kologi Sr., 42, sister, Brittany, 18, and Mary Shulz, 70 on New Years Eve 2017. Now Scott Kologi is on trial and his defense team do not deny that the then eighteen year old committed the murders however they are not trying for an insanity defense saying the teen killer suffered from years of mental illness that would ultimately lead to the quadruple murder.

Scott Kologi More News

From the time Scott Kologi was a toddler, his oldest brother knew he was different than other kids his age.

“He acted as if he was at a much younger age,” Jonathan Ruiz said of Scott, who is 10 years younger than him.

As Scott got older, the difference between his actual age and the age he acted became greater, Ruiz told a jury in Monmouth County.

“There was a greater disparity in his mental abilities,” Ruiz testified.

At age 15, Scott still slept in the bed with his parents every night, as he had done throughout his childhood, Ruiz said.

In 2017, when Scott was 16, his mother still dressed him every morning and made him special meals “because he had the palate of a child,” Ruiz testified. And, by then, Scott still believed in Santa Claus, he said.

Asked how he knew that, Ruiz replied, “Because I would help hide presents in the attic so he would believe that Santa brought him the presents, and the presents were tagged ‘Santa.’

That New Year’s Eve, when Ruiz was at his family’s home in Long Branch, Scott appeared happy, he said.

But just before midnight, Ruiz acknowledged, Scott shot and killed his mother, father, sister and surrogate grandmother.

Ruiz, 30, of Toms River, was the first witness for the defense at Scott Kologi’s trial on four counts of murder.

Defense attorneys do not contest that Scott Kologi shot and killed his mother, Linda Kologi, 44, father Steven Kologi Sr., 42, sister, Brittany, 18, and Mary Shulz, 70, the longtime companion of his grandfather who he looked upon as his grandmother. The defense attorneys, however, claim their client was legally insane and experiencing a severe psychotic episode after suffering for years from mental illness for which he was never treated.

The prosecution has argued that Kologi, despite any mental illness, knew what he was doing when he committed the killings.

The prosecution rested its case Monday after calling two medical examiners to testify about the cause and manner of the deaths of Shulz and the Kologi family members. All were victims of homicide, suffering multiple gunshot wounds from an assault rifle, they testified.

But Ruiz testified that everyone seemed happy earlier that day.

He told the jury that his family was “fun” and “very close.

Although Steven Kologi Sr. was not his biological father, Ruiz always considered him to be his father, he said.

The family would often spend time together playing games, watching movies, taking trips to the beach and playing basketball in the back yard of the family home, Ruiz said.

“Why was that family time important?” defense attorney Richard Lomurro asked him.

Ruiz paused and wiped tears from his eyes.

“Because family is the most important thing in the world,” he replied and then apologized for crying.

Ruiz said he was close to Scott, and even after he moved out of the family’s home on Wall Street in Long Branch, he still would visit there at least one or twice a week.

In 2017, he was at the family gatherings there for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

“Christmas was like any other Christmas before, always a happy and joyous occasion,” he said.

That Christmas, as every Christmas, Ruiz said he watched as Scott opened his presents from Santa Claus.

That New Year’s Eve, Ruiz said he drove from Toms River to the family’s home and spent several hours there before taking his then-girlfriend, now his wife, to a gathering at a friend’s house in Philadelphia.

“What was everyone’s mood?” Lomurro asked of those gathered in the Kologi household.

“Happy,” Ruiz replied.

There were no arguments, and “Scott seemed normal,” he told the jury.

While he was there, Ruiz said he took a ride with his mother to Domino’s to get a special meal for Scott.

“What was that ride like with Mom?” Lomurro asked him. The question again brought the witness to tears.

After a moment, Ruiz, still crying, replied, “It was happy, it was normal.”

He also said he spent “a happy time” with his father that day. Nothing seemed unusual, Ruiz said.

While at his friend’s house in Philadelphia, Ruiz said he learned that something had happened.

“I immediately rushed to my vehicle and drove directly to Long Branch,” he said.

Several hours later, while at the police station in Long Branch, Ruiz said he learned that his mother, father, sister and “grandmother,” were dead.

Kologi is being tried as an adult for crimes that occurred when he was still a minor. The trial is before Superior Court Judge Marc C. LeMieux.

Scott Kologi Other News

The Jersey Shore teen accused of slaughtering his parents, sister and family friend on New Year’s Eve gunned down his victims “at close range” with an AK-47-style rifle, officials said Tuesday.

Scott Kologi has been charged as a juvenile with four counts of first-degree murder for the brutal slayings inside the family’s Long Branch home — but Monmouth County prosecutors intend to try him as an adult.

“We’re going to be attempting to waive him or transfer his case from the juvenile court system up to the adult court system, but there is a process and a procedure that comes with that,” prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said at a press conference Tuesday.

Scott’s father, Steven Kologi, 44, mother, Linda Kologi, 42, sister Brittany Kologi, 18, and Mary Schultz, 70, were all killed in the New Year’s Eve carnage.

Three others — his older brother, Steven Jr., grandfather, Adrian Kologi, and a family friend in her 20s — made it out alive.

“Once they heard the shooting, they ran from it and called 911,” Gramiccioni said.

One of those survivors legally owned the AK-47 variant, made by Century Arms, that Scott Kologi allegedly used in the bloodbath. It had a magazine capable of holding 15 rounds, according to Gramiccioni.

“These deaths are homicides from multiple gunshots at close range,” the prosecutor added.

He called it a “heartbreaking family tragedy.”

“The unfortunate and sad reality is that [in] this case, when we seek justice for the remaining family members . . . the sad fact is that justice is likely going to involve serious punishment for yet another family member and loved one,” Gramiccioni said. “This is a situation that we don’t find ourselves often in.”

Authorities have yet to reveal a motive for the slayings.

Kologi, who is being held at the Middlesex County Youth Detention Center, is expected to appear in court Wednesday. His Tuesday hearing was postponed after media requested to have the court proceeding opened up to press.

Andrea Santos, 45, who has known the family for four years described Linda as being devoted to her teen son, whom friends and neighbors say is autistic.

“She was so devoted to that kid. She was always with him,” Santos told The Post. “I think she thought she was able to take care of that kid. Now, definitely we know that kid needed more help.”A GoFundMe page set up for the Kologi family has raised more than $26,000.

Amanda Noverr Pleads Guilty To Double Murder

Amanda Noverr 2022

Amanda Noverr has plead guilty to two counts of murder in a deal with prosecutors that will send her to prison for the next twenty years. According to court documents Amanda Noverr and her boyfriend Adam Williams would murder James and Michelle Butler, a couple from New Hampshire, and bury their bodies on a Texas beach. Amanda Noverr and Adam Williams would flee the country and were eventually arrested in Mexico and extradited back to Texas. Adam Williams would take a plea deal for a life sentence without the possibility of parole to avoid getting a death sentence. On top of the murder charges Amanda Noverr was already sentenced to a ten year prison term for other felony charges which she will serve at the same time as the new twenty year sentence for the double murder.

Amanda Noverr More News

Amanda Noverr, one of the two people accused of killing a New Hampshire couple and burying their bodies in a shallow grave on Padre Island in 2019, pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder, Tuesday after striking a deal with state prosecutors.

Noverr, 34, appeared before 105th District Judge Jack W. Pulcher masked and in a pink jumpsuit via Zoom from the Kleberg County Jail.

She stood calmly as Pulcher read aloud each of the four felony charges against her.

Noverr went on to plead guilty to all of the charges, including tampering with evidence, theft and the unlawful possession of a firearm.

Pulcher, after asking for recommendations from prosecutors, sentenced Noverr to 20 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for the murder of James and Michelle Butler.

This sentence, Pulcher said, would run concurrently with each of Noverr’s 10-year sentences with TDCJ for the other three felony charges.

Prosecutors told the court their recommendations were influenced by their belief that Noverr was responsible for purchasing the weapon used to kill the Butlers, but that she did not pull the trigger.

Prosecutors also referenced Noverr’s lack of prior criminal history in the decision.

By accepting the plea deal, Noverr agreed to waive her right to appeal the sentence and the completion of DNA and ballistic testing from evidence found at the crime scene.

Pulcher said Noverr will receive credit for the time she has spent incarcerated since first coming into custody on Nov. 5, 2019.

Noverr’s plea hearing and sentencing came three months after her co-defendant, Adam C. Williams, pleaded guilty to the crime after striking his own deal with prosecutors.

Williams, who has a criminal history, agreed to plead guilty and spend the rest of his life in prison with no option for parole. In return, state prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty, as they had previously said they would.

Unlike Williams’ plea hearing and sentencing, however, no victim impact statements were read aloud Tuesday.

Prosecutors said that while the family of the Butlers were aware of Noverr’s plea deal offer, they decided not to attend the plea hearing.

Deborah Van Loon, James Butler’s sister, previously told the court in a statement read aloud by state prosecutors after Williams’ sentencing that their lives are “forever changed.”

“They have destroyed so much more than they will ever know,” Van Loon wrote

Melissa Turner Trial Murder Or Self Defense

melissa turner

Melissa Turner murder trial has just started in Florida where the former model is accused of stabbing her boyfriend during an argument however Turner is saying that she was defending herself from a violent attack and the killing was in self defense. According to court documents police were called to the Tampa Bay area where they would discover the body of Matthew Trussler suffering from a stab wound. Melissa Turner would tell police that she was defending herself when she stabbed Trussler causing his death.

However things took a funny turn in the case when a surveillance camera from another house in the area caught a female voice stating  “you stay down,” “so f***ing die” and “I hate you.” at the time of the murder. Melissa Turner was arrested and charged with murder. The State of Florida offered her a 25 year prison sentence if she pleads guilty, which she refused then countered with a 5 year prison sentence, which the State refused. If convicted of first degree murder Melissa Turner could be sentenced to life in prison

Melissa Turner More News

Testimony in the Melissa Turner second-degree murder trial is officially underway in Tampa.

Turner is the former cosplay model accused of killing her boyfriend, Matthew Trussler, at the home they shared in Hillsborough County in October of 2019.

Attorneys picked a jury on Monday and delivered opening statements.

The state began presenting its case Tuesday. Prosecutors called up several crime scene technicians and detectives who testified in detail about the crime scene, evidence they collected and photos they captured.

Ryan Lagasse, a former detective with the sheriff’s office, testified Tuesday afternoon. His job that day was to canvas the neighborhood looking for any possible witnesses or homes with cameras. He found one around the corner from the scene.

“As I walked up the driveway, I observed some sort of surveillance type cameras,” Lagasse told jurors.

Jurors listened to the recording from the Nest video camera. According to the arrest affidavit, detectives say you can hear a female voice saying, “you stay down,” “so f***ing die” and “I hate you.”

A number of Trussler’s loved ones were in the courtroom, but have not spoken to the media.

Turner sat down with 8 On Your Side on Friday, just days prior to the trial. She claims this was a case of self defense and she is heartbroken.

“He had pushed me into the countertop. I had marks on my stomach and then turned me around and had his hands around my throat,” said Turner. “We ended up struggling back and forth for the knife. I got my hand sliced open.”

John Trevena, a high-profile lawyer out of Pinellas County, is representing Turner. He believes the evidence will show jurors this was not a homicide.

He plans to put his client on the stand either Thursday or Friday.

Before the beginning of the trial, the state offered a plea deal of 25 years in Florida State Prison. Trevena said no, but came back with a counter offer of five years in prison. The state said no to that.

The trial is expected to last the rest of the week. If jurors find Turner guilty, she could face life in prison.

Melissa Turner Found Guilty

A former cosplay model was convicted of second-degree murder on Friday in connection with her boyfriend’s death in 2019.

Melissa Turner was on trial in Tampa, accused of killing her boyfriend Matthew Trussler in their Hillsborough County home. A jury found her guilty as charged Friday evening.

Deputies found Trussler dead at the couple’s Riverview home on Oct. 18, 2019 after Turner called 911 to report that he was unresponsive. Turner was arrested the next day.

In an exclusive interview with 8 On Your Side’s Chip Osowski’s last week before her trial started, Turner did not deny she fatally stabbed Trussler but claimed she acted in self defense.

“And then he turned me around and he had his hands around my throat. And my right hand was sliced open and I used my left hand and I could feel the knife that he had. It was on the counter,” Turner said. “And that’s when I picked it up because he wouldn’t stop. I thought he was going to kill me. And that’s where the stab in his back came from.”

The trial moved quickly – it started Monday with jury selection and opening statements. The jury started deliberating Friday morning and returned the verdict hours later.

Among the evidence presented to jurors during the trial was a recording from a Nest video camera that captured audio of a woman yelling “you stay down,” “so f***ing die” and “I hate you.”

Before the trial started, the state had offered a plea deal of 25 years in state prison. Turner’s attorney John Trevena declined that offer and countered with five years in prison. The state said no to that counter offer.

Turner could now face life in prison.
