15 Year Old Teen Killer Stabs Kayla Green to Death

A fifteen year old girl has been charged with murder after stabbing sixteen year old Kayla Green to death in Mount Vernon. According to police reports Kayla Green and other students were celebrating their high schools recent State championship win when the alleged teen killer would stab Kayla Green and injure another student. Kayla Green would die from her injuries. Kayla Green family has said that the alleged teen killer had a history of bullying their daughter. The alleged teen killer has not been named due to her age however if she is charged as an adult chances are her name will be released in the future.

Mount Vernon Police Investigating Fatal Stabbing

For Immediate Release: Mount Vernon, NY April 8, 2022

Today, at approximately 3:55pm, Mount Vernon Police responded to the area of East Prospect and Gramatan Avenues. Upon arrival, respondent officers found multiple female combatants and discovered two minor females stabbed, one with non-life-threatening lacerations and the second with a critical stab wound. The gravely injured minor then succumbed to her injuries in transport to Jacobi Medical Center.

The Mount Vernon Police Department Wellness Division and City of Mount Vernon are working with the Mount Vernon School District, victims, family, and friends in real-time during this active investigation where we will be providing crisis counseling and support to those involved and impacted in this senseless tragedy.

The Mt. Vernon School District will provide counseling at Mount Vernon High School Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 11am to 2pm. Community-based, individual and group, crisis and grief counseling will be available through Family Services of Westchester located at 6 Gramatan Avenue on Saturday, April 9th from 12noon to 3pm. The Guidance Center of Westchester will advertise their availability to service the community. FSW and SNUG can also be contacted directly for direct community engagement and services. We are also grateful to our faith community for stepping in to provide spiritual assistance, counseling and prayer.

Mayor Shawyn Patterson Howard stated ‘I am devastated and completely outraged. We began our day celebrating the greatness and success of our youth and we ended it with a young life that has been taken by senseless and inexcusable violence. The mental emotional and spiritual health of our community especially of our children must be the priority and we must come together. A Westchester County judge on Monday ordered the 15-year-old girl suspected in the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Kayla Green in Mount Vernon to remain in custody.

Members of the community gathered at city hall to mourn and heal. A rally in Green’s memory was held just hours after her family attended the suspect’s arraignment, CBS2’s Tony Aiello reported.

“Nobody deserves to die. Let our young people live up to their fullest potential,” City Councilman Derrick Thompson said.

People gathered to remember a special girl who had so much to look forward to.

Now her mother, Lavern Gordon, faces the ultimate agony of losing a child, who people say was full of joy and ready to conquer the world, CBS2’s Dick Brennan reported.

Gordon got a hug after a difficult afternoon in court. She faced the girl accused of killing her daughter.

“Kayla was a beautiful big sister and a special young woman with dreams and ambitions of becoming a doctor one day. She was a cheerleader, a captain, an inspiration,” said Shannae Haywood, a spokesperson for the family.

“Kayla had plans. She wanted to go to Morgan State University. She wasn’t a kid who hung out on the street. She was a good kid,” coach Mikeya Knox said.

CBS2 was the only news team outside court as the family shared their anger and pain.

The deadly stabbing happened Friday, minutes after Green participated in a celebration of Mount Vernon’s state champion basketball team. As she left, a dispute unfolded a block away.

Prosecutors said the 15-year-old suspect came armed with a knife that she had shown off earlier on social media. There was a dispute as Kayla Green sat in a vehicle.

A Mount Vernon cop tried to intervene as the suspect allegedly stabbed Kayla Green in the back and side.

“We want to thank the police officer that risked his life to stop a mob of misguided, violent teens. We thank him and his partner for recognizing that Kayla needed life-saving treatment and their efforts to save her have not gone unnoticed,” Haywood said.

The name of the defendant has not been released due to her age.

In court, the prosecutor said the defendant took steps to hide evidence, including the knife, as she fled the scene after the stabbing.

The 15-year-old was located in nearby Dobbs Ferry after the FBI assisted Mount Vernon police with technology to track her smartphone, prosecutors said.

The office of Westchester County District Attorney Mimi Rocah indicated the manslaughter charge may be upgraded when a grand jury reviews the case.

Rumors about alleged motives spread on social media. The suspect’s lawyer spoke exclusively with CBS2 after court.

“Everyone is jumping to conclusions. The things that are being said have nothing to do with what happened here,” defense attorney Pamela Hayes said.

Monday afternoon, upset residents gathered for an anti-violence event at the local Boys & Girls Club.

Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard told Aiello the senseless death of a promising young girl is an opportunity for parents to reengage with their own children.

“Who are their friends, who are they speaking to on social media? What pages do they have, what platforms are they communicating on?” Patterson-Howard said. “You have to get in your kid’s business.”

Hayes called it a tragic incident and hinted the suspect was acting in self-defense. Prosecutors strongly rejected that, saying the suspect showed a senseless and violent nature.

The Green family said the suspect had a history of bullying Kayla Green.

Amber Chapman Charged With Putting Child In Dryer

Amber Chapman has been charged with felony child abuse for putting a four year old boy inside of a dryer and turning it on. According to police reports the four year old boy would arrive at the hospital with bruising on his body and face. When asked by the doctors what happened he allegedly told the doctor that Amber Chapman put him inside of the dryer and he went round and round. Apparently at one point Amber Chapman opened the door, looked at the child and then turned the dryer back on. Amber Chapman has been charged with aggravated child abuse.

A Lake County woman has been arrested after the sheriff’s office says she put a child she was caring for in a dryer and spun him around inside.

Amber Chapman, 35, of Eustis, is facing an aggravated child abuse charge

According to an arrest affidavit, on Feb. 1, the 4-year-old child was brought to UF Health Leesburg Hospital where the boy reportedly stated that “Miss Amber” put him in the dryer with towels, and he spun around

During an interview with the victim on Feb. 7, the boy told investigators that Chapman put him in a dryer, closed the door and he “went round and round,” according to the arrest affidavit. Chapman then reportedly opened the door, closed it, and spun the boy again.

While being examined for injuries at the Children’s Advocacy Center, the medical staff stated that the boy had several bruises to his face, back and ears.

The arrest affidavit stated that probable cause exists for Chapman to be arrested for child abuse.

Katie Foster Murders Man With Her Car

Katie Foster is a woman from Maryland who following an argument would run over and kill a man with her vehicle. According to police reports Katie Foster and the victim Joseph Dawson were involved in an argument and when it ended Foster would run over Dawson with her vehicle and then leave the scene. Needless to say it did not take police long to catch up to Katie Foster who has been charged with first degree murder

Baltimore County Police have charged a 25-year-old woman win first-degree murder after they say she hit him with a vehicle.

Police arrested Katie Foster. She is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bond.

According to investigators, police were called to the 1200 block of Maiden Choice Lane in Catonsville at about 3 p.m. on Sunday for a report of a collision. When officers arrived, they found 52-year-old Joseph Dawson. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Police say that Foster got into an argument with Dawson near the intersection of Maiden Choice Lane and Leeds Avenue. During the agreement, police say she hit Dawson with the vehicle and left.

The area near Maiden Choice Lane and Wilkens Avenue. A 16-year-old boy was shot in the 4300 block of Wilkens Avenue on April 4. On Thursday, April 7, police investigated a shooting in the 1000 block of Maiden Choice Lane. A 23-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were injured in that shooting.

Anthony Todt Faces Death For Killing Family

Anthony Todt is on trial in Florida after he was arrested and charged for murdering his entire family including the family dog. According to police reports Anthony Todt would murder his entire family starting with Zoey Todt who was just four years old. Anthony Todt would then murder his 13-year-old son, Alexander, his 10-year-old son, Tyler, and his wife Megan Todt.

Anthony Todt would tell police that he and his wife Megan had a suicide pact agreement to avoid the upcoming apocalypse however police who say that Anthony Todt who committed the murders between December 14 2019 an December 25 2019 would confess to the four murders. If convicted Florida prosecutors have already said they intend to seek the death penalty.

The trial against Anthony Todt, who is accused of killing his wife, three children, and their family dog in 2019 at their home in Celebration, Florida, started Monday with opening statements, where the prosecution laid out its case.

Todt and his wife had a death pact in preparation for an upcoming apocalypse, prosecutors told the jury during their opening statement

“The defendant in his interview says that Megan Todt and himself had an agreement that everybody needed to die in order to pass over to the other side together because the apocalypse was coming,” one of the prosecutors said, adding that Todt allegedly confessed to the killings while in Osceola County custody.

“Sometime between December 14, 2019, and Christmas in 2019, he went into Zoey Todt’s room while she was asleep. He took the time to sit with her then he rolled over on top of her until she suffocated,” the prosecution alleged.

Zoey was 4 ½ years old.

The assistant state attorney told the jury that Todt also suffocated – then stabbed — his 13-year-old son, Alexander, his 10-year-old son, Tyler, and his wife. He also allegedly killed the dog by suffocating it.

“He says after everybody was dead, he took all their bodies and put them in the master bedroom,” the prosecutor told the jury, adding that he allegedly slept in the same bedroom as the bodies for days before authorities got involved.

Deputies with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office discovered the bodies in late December 2019, after Todt’s sister, who lived in Connecticut, reached out to authorities and requested a welfare check.

Deputies testified that they went by the Todt home multiple times and found the house quiet and shades pulled down on all of the windows.

On Ja. 13, 2020, the sister reached out to authorities and requested another welfare check. The sister told police that the family was comparing notes about the famines whereabouts and details were not adding up.

“Just in conversations with my sister, my sister-in-law was making a comment about…we just kind of put it all together about ummm….basically, the world is ending on the 28th and nobody has talked to them. Nobody physically talked to my sister-in-law since the 26th of December. And my brother has stopped texting as of Monday,” Chrissy Kalpet told a 911 dispatcher.

Anthony Todt was outside when deputies arrived the second time, but went inside after seeing the squad cars, deputies testified. They knocked on the door and Todt let them in and instantly smelled a bad odor.

“It was consistent with the smell of a dead body,” Deputy Christopher Boos told the court.

Body camera video shown in court showed Todt appearing unsteady as he walked down the stairs to talk with deputies. When asked where his wife was, Todt told the deputies that she was upstairs asleep and proceeded to call her name.

Deputies went to the bedroom and found the bodies of Todt’s wife, his children, and dog.

The trial continues Tuesday morning.

Anessa Paige Gower Charged With Multiple Counts Of Molestation

Anessa Paige Gower was a teacher at a California school that has been charged with nearly thirty counts of molestation and sending explicit photos online. According to police reports Anessa Paige Gower was a teacher at Making Waves Academy in Richmond California which catered students from grade five to grade twelve and was a biology teacher. However once the allegations came forward Anessa Paige Gower would be fired. Police in Richmond have not released the ages of the students where the molestation allegations occurred. What we do know is Anessa Paige Gower has been charged with 29 counts of child molestation.

A teacher at a Richmond charter school was arrested on suspicion of child molestation on Wednesday and is now charged with 29 counts of child molestation, according to the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office.

Anessa Paige Gower, 35, is a biology teacher at Making Waves Academy. She was arrested on Wednesday morning in Sacramento as she returned from a vacation in Hawaii, according to the district attorney’s office.

Prosecutors allege that Gower engaged in “numerous” acts of a sexual nature with seven minors between 2021 and 2022, according to a statement released by the district attorney’s office on Friday.

The allegations include sex acts with minors, inappropriate touching, and sharing sexually graphic photos over online platforms.

Gower is in custody with bail set at $1.9 million.

Making Waves Academy Chief Executive Officer Alton B. Nelson, Jr. issued the following statement after news of the arrest became public.

There is nothing more important than the health, safety and well-being of our students. During the course of an investigation into allegations that one of our teachers violated school policy, we learned of additional highly concerning allegations involving that teacher’s conduct. We immediately shared that information with authorities who are reviewing the matter. That teacher is no longer employed by Making Waves Academy and we have reached out to parents, students and faculty to provide support where it might be needed. At this time we can make no further comment.

This is not the first time the charter school has had a teacher arrested on molestation charges.

In 2017, sixth grade science and math teacher Ronald Guinto was convicted of molesting over a dozen victims for several years, according to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

In 2002, Guinto lured his first victim, a then 12-year-old boy, through an AOL chat room to sneak out of his home. Prosecutors said Guinto proceeded to molest the boy on multiple occasions in Santa Clara and Solano counties.

Guinto was found guilty on 87 of the 90 counts he was charged with, including forcible child molestation, witness dissuasion and kidnapping, according to prosecutors. He was later sentenced to over 900 years in prison

Twelve of his former students at Making Waves Academy received a combined settlement of $10.9 million after suing the the school, an attorney said.

The Making Waves Academy is currently closed for spring break.
