Courtney Clenney, the OnlyFans and Instagram model who fatally stabbed her boyfriend to death in Miami in April, has been arrested on a murder charge, the Miami Herald has learned.

The 26-year-old Clenney was taken into custody on Wednesday in Hawaii, and will be eventually extradited to Miami-Dade County to face trial. She’s being charged with second-degree murder with a deadly weapon for the April 3 stabbing of Christian “Toby” Obumseli.

Her arrest was confirmed Wednesday afternoon by her Miami defense lawyer, Frank Prieto, who said she’d been in Hawaii while in rehabilitation for substance abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder

“I’m completely shocked, especially since we were cooperating with the investigation and offered to voluntarily surrender her if she were charged,” Prieto said. “We look forward to clearing her name in court.”

The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, in a press release on Wednesday evening, said the arrest warrant remained sealed. State Attorney Katherine Fernandez, along with City Police Chief Manuel Morales and South Florida U.S. Marshal Gadyaces Serralta, will detail the arrest at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.

The arrest caps a four-month investigation by Miami police homicide detectives and prosecutors into Clenney, whose killing of her boyfriend during a domestic dispute in a luxury Edgewater apartment garnered headlines across the world. Clenney’s defense attorney insisted that she acted in self-defense and the killing was justified. But in the days after his death, Obumseli’s relatives called for Clenney’s arrest, saying they did not believe he was ever a threat.

Obumseli worked in cryptocurrency. Known as Courtney Tailor on her social-media platforms, Clenney boasted over two million followers on her social-media platforms.

She and Obumseli had been dating less than two years, and their relationship had been plagued by domestic strife — she’d once been arrested for domestic battery in Las Vegas, and police had been called to their home in Austin, Texas, on several occasions.

The two had only lived in Miami for a few months at the One Paraiso building, 3131 NE 7th Ave., where staff members had documented numerous domestic disturbance complaints about the couple and had even moved to evict them. Clenney and Obumseli had broken up several times, although investigators believe that he’d moved back into the apartment by the first day of April.

The Miami Herald earlier reported that Miami police responded to the apartment on April 1, two days before the stabbing, over another domestic disturbance call. Finally on the evening of April 3, just before 5 p.m., Clenney frantically called 911 to report Obumseli had been stabbed.

Erick Almandinger Teen Killer Sets Up Friends Murder

Erick Almandinger

Erick Almandinger is a convicted teen killer from Alaska who was found guilty of the murder of his friend. According to court documents Erick Almandinger would recruit three others to rob, beat and ultimately kill sixteen year old David Grunwald. Erick Almandinger would supply the murder weapon to Dominic Johnson, now 22, Austin Barrett, now 25, and Bradley Renfro, 21 who would beat David Grunwald before he was driven thirty minutes to a river where he was executed. Erick Almandinger would be ultimately arrested, convicted and would be sentenced to ninety nine years in prison

The “ringleader” who joined three other teenage boys in kidnapping and murdering his friend has been sentenced to a total of 99 years in prisonErick Almandinger, now 22, was convicted back in 2018 of killing David Grunwald, 16.

He was the only one of the killers who actually knew Grunwald, according to The Anchorage Daily News. Indeed, Almandinger, who presented himself as remorseful on Monday, called Grunwald his friend, “a good kid.”

And yet it was Almandinger who prosecutors said supplied a .40-caliber gun used to pistol-whip Grunwald after the victim went to Almandinger’s home and smoked marijuana with his soon-to-be killers in a camper behind the residence.

The four defendants — including Dominic Johnson, now 22, Austin Barrett, now 25, and Bradley Renfro, 21 — initially trapped Grunwald in a bathroom during the Nov. 13, 2016 incident, authorities said.

“After the beating, Grunwald was driven for nearly half an hour in his own vehicle, walked into the woods near the Knik River, and executed,” the State of Alaska Department of Law said in a statement. “Grunwald’s vehicle was discovered burned, miles away near the Talkeetna Mountains. Grunwald’s body was found nineteen days later after defendant Dominic Johnson led law enforcement to the area.”

There was no apparent motive for the killing.

“There was something off in all four of these young people,” Palmer Superior Court Judge Gregory Heath reportedly said during Johnson’s sentencing. “I don’t know what motivated [Johnson] to do that but it was not normal. And it was flat-out scary.”

The judge continued that stance in Almandinger’s sentencing, calling the crimes truly horrific and committed for no apparent reason.

“David Grunwald was a 16-year-old boy who was deeply loved by his family and friends, whose lives have been shattered by their loss and the haunting thoughts of what David endured the last hours of his life,” said Palmer District Attorney Melissa Howard. “The sentence imposed is reflective of the senseless brutality of the crime and the calculated steps the defendants took to cover it up.”

“I’m sure the words coming out of my mouth are irrelevant to them,” Almandinger reportedly said on Monday. “But if it means anything I am sorry. I’m sorry for what I did. I’m sorry for what I didn’t do.”

But David’s mother Edie Grunwald emphasized Almandinger’s personal responsibility in the case by calling him the “ringleader.”

“I don’t come here seeking justice today,” said David’s father Ben Grunwald in court. “I come here seeking punishment.”

Johnson was sentenced to 99 years behind bars for first-degree murder.

Barrett was sentenced to 45 years for second-degree murder.

Renfro is set to be sentenced at a hearing scheduled to begin Wednesday.

A fifth man, Devin Peterson, reportedly pleaded guilty to hiding the weapon and giving the four teens gas cans to burn Grunwald’s Bronco. He received a six-year sentence.

Police in Ohio are still trying to figure out a motive that led to four murders

The man charged with aggravated murder in the fatal shooting of four people in Ohio was arrested Saturday night in Lawrence, Kansas, the FBI’s Cincinnati field office announced.

Stephen Marlow, 39, was arrested by the Lawrence Police Department just before 10 p.m., according to John Porter, the police chief in Butler Township, Ohio, where the shooting deaths occurred.

Marlow is now in Lawrence Police Department custody, and arrangements for extradition are being made, Porter said.

The FBI had issued a wanted poster for 39-year-old Stephen Marlow, whom they said should be considered “armed and dangerous.” He has ties to Indianapolis, Chicago and Lexington, Kentucky, and “could be in one of these cities,” FBI Cincinnati had said on Twitter.

Marlow was wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of four people in Butler Township, a small town north of Dayton on Friday, police said.

Police responding to reports of gunfire shortly before noon found the four victims suffering from gunshot wounds at “multiple crime scenes” in a residential area, the Butler Township Police Department said.

The four victims were pronounced dead at the scenes. They were identified Saturday by police as Clyde Knox, 82, Eva Knox, 78, Sarah Anderson, 41, and Kayla Anderson, 15.

Marlow was charged with four counts of aggravated murder on Friday and a state warrant was issued for his arrest, according to the FBI. A federal arrest warrant was also issued on Saturday after he was charged with “unlawful flight to avoid prosecution,” the FBI said.

“At this time, we believe that he has left Ohio. Law enforcement agencies in multiple states have been made aware of this and are on high alert,” the Butler Township Police Department said.

Butler Township Police Chief John Porter addressed Marlow during a press conference Saturday, asking the suspect to turn himself in. “I want you to know that we want to help you. You have the ability to resolve the situation peacefully if you turn yourself into law enforcement as soon as possible,” he said.

Marlow is the primary suspect, police said.

Porter said they don’t believe there is a continued threat to the neighborhood but “we will continue to have crews in the area in case Marlow would return,” he told reporters on Friday. The Dayton Police Department Bomb Squad was also contacted “out of an abundance of caution,” he said.

Neighbors were asked to review any video camera footage from that day.

Porter said police were working to determine “if there were any motive to this horrible tragedy” and did not have any further information on the investigation.

“This is the first violent crime in this neighborhood in recent memory,” Porter said.

Marlow was believed to have fled the area in a white 2007 Ford Edge SUV with the Ohio license plate JES9806, police said.

He was described by police as approximately 5’11”, 160 pounds with short brown hair and was last seen wearing shorts and a yellow T-shirt.

Drue Scott Burd More News

A 23-year-old Pennsylvania man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for violently killing his former girlfriend’s toddler daughter four years ago. Blair County President Judge Elizabeth A. Doyle on Friday ordered Drue Scott Burd to serve a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2018 slaying of 16-month-old Angela Elizabeth Jones Beard, court records reviewed by Law&Crime show.

Drue Scott Burd on Friday formally pleaded guilty to one count of premeditated first-degree murder in Angela’s death. In exchange for pleading guilty, prosecutors with the Blair County District Attorney’s Office agreed to drop additional charges that included one count each of aggravated assault, strangulation – blocking the nose and mouth of a person, endangering the welfare of a child, and simple assault. Prosecutors also agreed to take the death penalty off the table as a possible sentence.

“We’re moving forward with this plea today because it’s the most significant charge and provides for life in prison without the possibility of parole,” Assistant District Attorney Derek Elensky told Judge Doyle during the plea hearing, the Altoona Mirror reported

The plea means Angela’s family will not have to endure the criminal trial that was scheduled to begin next month — a prospect that reportedly played into Burd’s decision-making process.

“I don’t want to put certain people through a trial,” Drue Scott Burd reportedly told the court when asked whether he was sure he wanted to plead guilty. “I already hurt a lot of people.”

Officers with the Altoona Police Department on May 20, 2018 responded to a 911 call about an unconscious toddler who was not breathing at a residence located in the 900 block of 23rd Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, first responders reportedly found a then-19-year-old Drue Scott Burd attempting to perform CPR on Angela, who was in cardiac arrest.

Emergency Medical Services transported the toddler to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Altoona. Due to the severity of her condition, Angela was airlifted to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for more specialized care. The toddler held on for several days but succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on May 24.

When investigators interviewed Burd about Angela’s injuries, he reportedly admitted to covering her nose and mouth with his hand in an attempt to get the child to stop crying and go to sleep.

“I wasn’t trying to kill her, I was trying to put her out,” Burd told police, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Johnstown NBC affiliate WJAC-TV.

A pair of medical reports reached two separate conclusions on Angela’s cause of death. Per the Mirror, the initial medical report declared that Angela died due to a “massive neurological brain damage, suffocation, and abuse.” A second report concluded that Angela’s cause of death was “penetrating trauma” to the child’s anus. She also reportedly sustained abnormal bruising and lacerations caused by trauma.

ADA Elensky reportedly referred to the crime as “a brutal and senseless killing of a 16-month-old child,” adding that Angela “endured a cruel death.”

Burd’s defense attorneys had previously argued for more leniency towards Drue Scott Burd, saying that he was only 19 and had the brain development of a child at the time he smothered Angela, per WJAC.
