Inmate Terry Lee Thurmond Death Ruled Homicide

Terry Lee Thurmond was arrested and sent to a Georgia jail due to a trespassing charge and he would die the next days. According to reports Terry Lee Thurmond was admitted to the Clayton County Georgia jail after being arrested  on a criminal trespass charge at the airport.

The next day Terry Lee Thurmond was grabbed as he was leaning over the second rail at the jail and was grabbed by officers and pulled back to the floor. During the ongoing altercation Terry Lee Thurmond would be tased several times and would be on the grounds with up to five officers on him. Even though Thurmond was no longer combative officers would continue to kneel on his back and neck

Twenty minutes later Terry Lee Thurmond would briefly raise his head and that was the last time. The coroner would rule that Thurmond had died from a cardiac arrest and the manner of death was homicide. The officers involved were all fired and now the wait is on to see if they will face criminal charges

A man in custody at the Clayton County Jail hung from a second-floor railing in a struggle with jailers, was shocked by a stun gun and left lifeless for 20 minutes before emergency medical officials arrived, according to a newly-released timeline from the medical examiner’s office.

In a struggle that lasted an hour, documents are now depicting new details that led to Terry Lee Thurmond III’s death, which the medical examiners office has ruled a homicide.

Thurmond was arrested and booked into the jail on Nov. 27, 2022, on a criminal trespass charge at the airport. He died the following day, after only being in jail custody for the day, records show.

When he was booked into the jail, Thurmond’s medical records showed a mostly clean bill of health with no history of suicide or self-injurious behavior. Records with the jail noted that he had no mental health history either. Thurmond’s medical history shows he had high blood pressure when he was admitted into the jail — he was taking medication for hypertension — and was booked with a cast on his right arm due to a fracture.

Medical examiner records show, later, that Thurmond suffered cardiac arrest during his struggle with jailers and inmates.

On Nov. 28 around 7:10 p.m., a timeline provided by the medical examiner’s office shows that’s when he started to hang over the second-floor railing. Inmates grab his foot and call for assistance as Thurmond is hanging onto the rail, according to surveillance video from inside the jail.

Video showed officers would get a grip of Thurmond by his jumpsuit and lift him back onto the floor. Three officers are seen trying to subdue Thurmond, and it appears a Taser is used on him. He leans on the railing after the supposed shock and it seems he is pushed to the ground.

After forcing Thurmond to break his hold of the railing, five officers are left trying to subdue Thurmond. At 7:19 p.m. it is recorded that the 38-year-old is face down as “most/all officers appear to be placing their knees and their body weight on Thurmond,” the medical examiner’s timeline reads.

At 7:20 p.m. it is recorded that Thurmond has not moved.

Video shows at this point a jailer has a knee by Thurmond’s neck and shoulder area; another was holding down his legs by his ankles that are crossed together. Other officers are putting weight on his back to keep him face down on his stomach. This is all also recorded by the medical examiner’s office, records show.

“At no point in time do they make an effort to de-escalate the situation from what we can tell,” Attorney Thomas Reynolds, who is representing Thurmond’s family, accused. “There was brute force aggression, slamming him to the ground and pinning him down for what appeared to be 20 minutes before rendering aid. At that time, he was already gone.”

Thurmond’s last recorded movement was at 7:26 p.m., when he “barely raised his head up,” before lowering it back to the floor, as noted by death investigators.

“It’s disheartening to see that we continue to have these types of issues within law enforcement, even after George Floyd,” Reynolds said about the video.

Ten minutes later, there do not appear to be signs of life. A Clayton County Sheriff’s Office witness statement said, “he was laying face down with his hands cuffed behind his back,” with flex cuffs due to his cast before CPR is started by a nurse a few minutes later.

Thurmond would leave on a stretcher to Southern Regional Hospital at 8:12 p.m. where he was pronounced dead.

Southern Regional Hospital accounts cite the patient was brought to them because he “was trying to commit suicide by jumping off a landing,” records show, adding he suffered cardiopulmonary arrest.

A Clayton County death investigation report reveals at the hospital, stun gun sites were found on his left arm and hip and Thurmond had a bruise on his left leg. Investigators also discovered he had a medical history of bipolar, paranoid schizophrenia and hypertension diagnosed at Grady Hospital and he was not taking prescribed medications. There are no jail medical records of his history with bipolar or paranoid schizophrenia diagnosis or a list of medications, meaning it may have not been disclosed or recorded at the time of Thurmond’s jail booking.

Reynold’s said this was an oversight and caused the shortfall of the jailers’ response to Thurmond’s actions that day.

“If people are dealing with mental health issues, make sure there’s someone on scene that has training on dealing with mental health issues,” he said.

Following his death, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was asked to step in.

Meanwhile, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office conducted an internal investigation which resulted in the firing of “all employees directly involved” for policy violations, Chief Deputy Levon Allen said last month. He clarified that the jail’s policies and procedures weren’t followed when officers were interacting with Thurmond.

Even after multiple requests, the sheriff’s office has not released the names of the employees involved. The GBI has not yet said why jailers chose to use a Taser on Thurmond.

“This was a pre-detention center,” Reynolds said. “He hadn’t been convicted of a crime. Many people are at that jail that will walk home free of any charges here. They’re innocent down there until proven guilty.”

So far, the medical examiner’s office said Thurdmond’s death was a homicide, meaning “the death was caused by the actions of another person.”

Reynolds said this doesn’t really provide closure for Thurmond’s family.

“They’re devastated. It’s one thing to know your family was killed at the hands of law enforcement, but to see it on video, how they just sat on him — close to 100 pounds, we estimate, on top of him, on his back for 15, 20 minutes — just while he struggled to breathe,” the attorney said. “It’s heartbreaking.”

The case is still being investigated by GBI. It is unclear how many, if any, of the jailers will face charges in Thurdmond’s death.

Jason Lewis Charged In 13 YR Old Karon Blake Murder

karon blake

Jason Lewis is a man from Washington DC who has been charged in the murder of thirteen year old Karon Blake. According to police reports Karon Blake was allegedly breaking into a car when Jason Lewis would come out and shoot the thirteen year old boy. Jason Lewis attempted to perform CPR on the child as he waited for the ambulance to come. Unfortunately Karon Blake would not survive his injuries.

According to his lawyer Jason Lewis is a forty one year old man who has worked for the Department Of Parks And Recreation. Jason Lewis also has a concealed weapons permit and the weapon used was registered legally.

Jason Lewis would turn himself into police and was charged with second degree murder. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in court as obviously it is a shame that a child was killed but on the other end you have a homeowner who is protecting his property. I am not sure how DC works when it comes to this situation.

Jason Lewis More News

The D.C. government employee who shot and killed 13-year-old Karon Blake turned himself in Tuesday to face a second-degree murder charge, D.C. police chief Robert Contee said.

Blake yelled “I’m sorry,” “I am a kid” and “I am only 12” numerous times as the suspect fired in his direction, according to court documents that described surveillance video. Contee said video was integral to the investigation.

Jason Lewis, 41, is charged with second-degree murder while armed for shooting Blake on Quincy Street NE in the Brookland neighborhood about 4 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, court documents say.

Lewis heard noises and saw someone who appeared to be “tampering with a vehicle.” The resident stepped outside armed with a legally registered gun, and after an interaction with the teen, opened fire, according to police. Neighbors said they heard four to five gunshots during the incident.

Police said the man performed CPR on Blake after shooting him. Blake died a short time later at a hospital.

Officers found a stolen car near the scene, which they believe Blake had used, police said. Two sources familiar with the investigation told News4 that the car was a stolen KIA and its engine was running.

D.C. police chief Robert Contee said earlier this month that a grand jury was convened to investigate the case.

He said people are making allegations centered around race, and photos are circulating on social media of innocent people who have been accused in the killing. Contee said those accusations were false and that the man involved is African American.

“I think it’s getting really reckless and dangerous with some of the behavior that I’m seeing. We normally do not identify people … in this similar situation unless we have a warrant in hand for that person, or unless there’s a person who we are trying to identify and we don’t know who that person is. That is not what we’re dealing with here,” Contee said.

The man who shot Blake was cooperative with police, and retained a lawyer, Contee said. He was placed on administrative leave from his city job after the shooting, city officials said

Blake was a student at Brookland Middle School.

“He was a quiet and inquisitive scholar who loved fashion and football. Although he loved his neighborhood, he loved Brookland MS (the faculty & his peers) and the structure it presented to him even more. He leaves behind his mom and three younger siblings,” Brookland Middle School Principal Kerry Richardson said.

Blake was remembered as the “nicest boy” in his class who made his siblings laugh during a vigil earlier this month.

The killing led safety advocates and D.C. Councilmembers to question why deadly force was used.

“Property is not greater than life. Karon should be alive today,” D.C. Council member Christina Henderson tweeted.

Ward 5 Council member Zachary Parker released a statement saying, in part, “No car or material possession is worth a life – under any circumstance. I join Ward 5 residents in calling on the MPD and the U.S. Attorney’s office to hold accountable the individual who took Karon’s life.”

“If you feel there is a public safety issue in or around your home, call 911. That is the appropriate thing to do, to call 911,” D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said.

Dharmesh Patel Charged With Attempted Murder By Driving Off Cliff

Dharmesh Patel

Dharmesh Patel is a man from California who has been charged with attempted murder for driving his Tesla off a cliff with his wife and two children inside. According to police reports Dharmesh Patel drove his Tesla off a cliff that was 250 feet high. Somehow everyone in the car survived the brutal crash but now Dharmesh Patel is in a lot of trouble as he has been charged with multiple counts of attempted murder. On top of that Dharmesh Patel is also facing domestic violence charges against his wife and young daughter

Dharmesh Patel More News

A man who the United States authorities say deliberately drove his family off a cliff in Northern California early in January was charged on Monday with three counts of attempted murder, court records show.

The man, Dharmesh A. Patel, 41, was arrested after the crash on suspicion of attempted murder and child abuse after his Tesla careened more than 76m off a treacherous cliff with him, his wife and two children inside, the authorities said.

Remarkably, all four survived with non-life-threatening injuries after emergency workers rescued them from the rubble.

But as details emerged from witnesses and from evidence gathered at the crash site, the authorities said, it quickly became clear that the crash had been no accident.

Patel, they said, had intentionally steered the car from the rocky bluff, and would be taken to San Mateo County Jail after being released from the hospital.

He was to be arraigned on Monday on charges of attempted murder, a spokesman for the San Mateo County Court said.

He is also accused of causing great bodily harm and committing domestic violence against his wife and seven-year-old daughter, state court records show.

Efforts on Monday to reach Patel’s lawyer were not immediately successful.

Emergency responders had been stunned that the family had survived the Jan 2 crash after they extracted Patel, his wife and two children from their mangled white Tesla.

The car had careened off a stretch of Highway 1, about 32km south-west of San Francisco, and smashed into the rocks abutting the Pacific Ocean, the authorities said at the time. The area is often referred to as Devil’s Slide.

Luckily, the car landed upright on its wheels, the authorities said, making the passengers easier to reach through the side windows.

It was very unusual, they said, for anyone to survive a crash of such magnitude.

Viktoria Nasyrova Uses Poison Cheesecake To Kill Rival

Viktoria Nasyrova

Viktoria Nasyrova is a woman living in New York City who attempted to murder a rival by giving her a poisoned cheesecake. According to police reports Viktoria Nasyrova, who works as a dominatrix, attemted to kill her rival by giving her a cheesecake that had been poisoned with a Russian tranquilliser Phenazepan.

After eating two pieces of the cheesecake Olga Tsvyk began to feel real sick and would eventually collapse. Viktoria Nasyrova would put pills around Olga Tsvk body to make it appear she had died from a fatal overdose. Viktoria Nasyroya would then steal Olga Tsyk identification before fleeing.

Thankfully Olga Tsvk would survive the bizarre murder attempt and tell her story to police. Turns out besides leaving the poison cheesecake Viktoria Nasyroya also left behind all kinds of DNA. Now the trial for Viktoria Nasyrova trial is beginning and if convicted may spend up to 25 years behind bars.

Viktoria Nasyrova More News

New York woman accused of attempting to kill her doppelganger friend by giving her a poisoned cheesecake before stealing her identity allegedly left evidence behind, the prosecutor said Monday.

Viktoria Nasyrova, a Russian native, left DNA evidence all over the cheesecake box and spoke about her alleged crimes in jailhouse interviews, Assistant District Attorney Konstantinos Litourgis told jurors.

“The DNA that was on that container belongs to Viktoria Nasyrova,” Litourgis said in his opening statements. “So on top of everything you’re going to hear from civilian witnesses, you’re going to learn that there’s a cheesecake container that had [tranquilizer] Phenazepam in it and also had the defendant’s DNA on it.”

Media interviews Nasyrova gave after her arrest will also be a focus during the trial, the prosecutor said.

“She was asked this specific question … ‘There is a woman named Olga who looks a lot like you who said that you poisoned her with a piece of cheesecake in order to steal her identity,’” Litourgis said.

The alleged victim in the case is Olga Tsvyk.

“You know what this defendant did when she was asked that question? She smiled. And you know what her answer was? ‘I can tell you I know this person. I know who you mean. I did not force her to eat the cheesecake.’”

Tsvyk, an eyelash stylist, testified Monday that Nasyrova had arrived at her home in Queens in August 2016, claiming she needed an emergency touch-up appointment.

“She told me, ‘I’m right now in Brooklyn. I want to bring you some famous cheesecake from a famous bakery.’ I told her, Viktoria, that’s not needed, just come over,'” Tsvyk said.

Tsvyk said Nasyrova ate two slices of cheesecake immediately after her arrival before Nasyrova offered her a third slice that prosecutors say was laced with Russian tranquilizer Phenazepan. Tsvyk said she began to feel sick about 20 minutes after eating the cake.

“I started to look to lie down on the bed,” Tsvyk told the jury. “I started to look for a pillow. I was realizing that I was losing consciousness and I said to her, ‘Vika, I’m feeling really bad.’ I started feeling very nauseous. I wanted to vomit. I started to vomit right by my bed onto the floor.”

“I told her, ‘Vika, I’m going to throw up right now.’ She said, ‘Don’t worry about it, I will clean it up.’ I remember she went to the bathroom and came back with Bounty,” Tsvyk continued.

Prosecutors claim Nasyrova then stole Tsvyk’s passport, cash and other belongings, and tried to make the incident look like a suicide attempt by scattering pills around the victim’s body.

“Everything was done in this case very carefully and very methodically by this defendant … not only did she poison Olga in order to impersonate her … she also staged her bedroom to make it look like suicide,” Litourgis told the jury.

But Litourgis says she left her DNA on the cheesecake box and that additional evidence also proves she tried to kill Tsvyk.

Another witness the prosecution intends to call during the trial is a man who claims Nasyrova drugged him after they met on a Russian dating site in 2016.

Litourgis said that man ate fish and veggies Nasyrova had cooked, and that he woke up three days later in a hospital.

His symptoms almost mirrored that of Olga’s,” Litourgis said, noting that the man’s watch and cash had been stolen.

Nasyrova pleaded guilty in a separate case to attempted petit larceny in Brooklyn Supreme Court in 2019, following allegations she drugged and robbed men she met on dating apps. She is also accused of drugging and killing her neighbor in Russia, torching the body and fleeing to New York.

But her attorney, Christopher Hoyt, told jurors the current case was not as “open and shut” as prosecutors claim.

Nasyrova faces up to 25 years in prison if she is convicted of attempted murder, burglary and other charges.

Madison Russo Fake Cancer Fraud

Madison Russo

Madison Russo is a nineteen year old from Eldridge Iowas who is in a heap of trouble after pretending she had cancer in order to bring in thousands of dollars of donations. According to police reports Madison Russo claimed that she had both leukemia and pancreatic cancer and a number of kind people donated $37,000 through a GoFund me campaign as well as posting her cancer journey through social media. Of course her story was complete BS and Madison Russo would be arrested and charged with theft by means of deception

Madison Russo More News

A 19-year-old Bettendorf woman is in custody after an investigation revealed she had been faking cancer to solicit thousands of dollars in donations.

On Wednesday, Jan. 11 around 6 p.m., the Eldridge Police Department was made aware of 19-year-old Madison Russo, who was suspected of stealing over $37,303 from over 439 donors by using false claims that she, “suffered from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Stage 2 Pancreatic Cancer and a tumor, the size of a football, that wrapped around her spine.”

Russo shared her story publicly through social media and a GoFundMe page, which was featured in the North Scott Press newspaper on Oct. 18. Russo also discussed her cancer journey as a guest speaker at St. Ambrose University, The National Pancreatic Foundation and on the Project Purple podcast.

Anonymous witnesses met with the investigating officer on Jan. 11 to discuss the medical discrepancies found in photos Russo posted to her social media sites.

Investigators learned that via her GoFundMe, Russo accepted private donations from other businesses, nonprofit organizations, school districts and Quad Citizens.

The GoFundMe page was still up as of Monday afternoon, with donations rolling in as recently as Saturday. The description of the fundraiser says:

“On February 10th, 2022 Maddie Russo found out she has Pancreatic Cancer and has been going to battle ever since to win this war. Maddie is currently undergoing vigorous chemotherapy and radiation treatments that make her very sick, but just like the Maddie we all know, she never gives up and is a fighter.

“As one can imagine, this diagnosis has been very hard on Maddie’s family. Just like with any cancer diagnosis, the cost of medical bills, gas, meals, and expense can be a burden, and that is something this family should not have to worry about.

“If you are able to, donations would be greatly appreciated to help cover medical expenses and to allow Maddie to focus on one thing only, which is to show that she is stronger than cancer and will beat this. Please donate/share if you can.”

A search warrant was carried out at her Bettendorf residence, but officials found no evidence.

Subpoenas for medical records were obtained which revealed that Russo has never been diagnosed with any form of cancer or tumor from any medical facilities within the Quad Cities or surrounding communities.

On Monday, Jan. 23, Russo was arrested for theft by means of deception on the St. Ambrose University campus.

Russo was released just four hours after being booked into the Scott County Jail on Monday.

Community members are encouraged to assist investigators as they attempt to locate any citizens or businesses that have donated to Russo.

This is an ongoing investigation.
