Patricia Saintizaire News

A Florida mother is behind bars facing multiple charges in the death of her 4-year-old son, whom she adopted from Haiti in April 2023, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Patricia Saintizaire, 36, is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and tampering with a witness in the death of Bryan Boyer, Sheriff Grady Judd said Wednesday.

“He’s dead because she beat him to death,” Judd said. “It is beyond my wildest imagination how anyone could abuse a beautiful little fella like this child was abused and neglected.”

Saintizaire also has a 16-year-old son she adopted from Haiti, who is now in protective custody.

The sheriff’s office said it was notified by staff at Orlando Health Hospital on Thursday, May 2, of a 4-year-old boy who died “under what appeared to be suspicious circumstances” after a medical exam showed an abdominal bleed that couldn’t be fixed by emergency surgery.

The boy’s body was taken to the District 9 Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, which was conducted the following day. The autopsy declared the child died from assault/blunt force trauma and ruled the manner of death as a homicide.

“What we have learned during this investigation just turns our stomachs,” Judd said.

The autopsy showed the little boy had old and new scarring on his back that would have occurred during his past year with Saintizaire in the United States. He also had a deep laceration on his liver, which would have affected him immediately and “caused a rapid decline” in his health, the sheriff’s office said.

While he had no broken or fractured bones, the autopsy showed bruising and hemorrhaging to his arms and legs. The medical examiner’s ultimate decision was that his injuries were consistent with ongoing abuse.

“We don’t believe we know all that this child suffered,” Judd said.

Polk County homicide detectives learned the boy was initially taken to Heart of Florida hospital in Davenport, where the family lived, but was flown to Orlando Health because of his injuries.

Saintizaire took him to the hospital at the request of her teenage son, who was performing CPR on the child at home beforehand, according to the PCSO.

When detectives initially spoke with the 16-year-old, he told them he was not abused and never witnessed abuse, but once he was placed in protective custody, he said his adoptive mother told him to “say nothing so I don’t get in trouble.” He also said Saintizaire threatened to kill him with a gun, the sheriff’s office shared.

The teenager also told detectives he and his brother were physically disciplined with a belt and a homemade hitting device when they lived in Haiti before telling them what happened on May 1, the day before the 4-year-old was reported dead.

When the little boy got home from school that afternoon, he was “happy and behaving normally with no injuries,” the brother told detectives, which was confirmed in a review of bus and school cameras and by talking to those who interacted with him.

“Despite his abusive treatment, they said he was a happy child,” Judd said.

The teenager said he went to another room in the house for about two hours and did not see or hear what happened to his little brother, but noted that he was “unable to walk on his own and struggled to sit up on his own” when Saintizaire told him to take food to the child.

She allegedly told the teenager that the boy was “faking it” and to just feed him shortly before he became unresponsive, which is when he began performing CPR and insisted they needed to go to the hospital.

Saintizaire’s husband, who was “clearly at work,” according to Judd, told detectives he does not handle the discipline of the children. Saintizaire “repeatedly denied” ever using physical discipline as punishment for either child, the sheriff’s office said.

When reviewing her phone, detectives found two videos from home surveillance cameras showing Patricia Saintizaire allegedly hitting the 4-year-old with an unknown object while he was lying face down on the floor, Judd said. Another video showed her allegedly throwing the boy into a pool with his hands tied behind his back.

“Our number one goal in this organization is to protect the children,” Judd said, “and that’s why we go after child predators, that’s why we go after child pornographers, that’s why we go after child abusers and we certainly go after child murderers.”

After a manhunt Michael Jayne would be arrested and has been charged with the Officers murder

Michael Jayne News

A Santaquin police officer who died after he was hit by a suspect in a semi-truck on I-15 has been identified as Sgt. Bill Hooser.

A GoFundMe — which was shared and confirmed by Utah Sen. Mike McKell — has been established to raise funds for Hooser’s family.

According to the fundraiser, Hooser left behind a wife and two daughters, two son in laws and his new granddaughter

Hooser was killed on Sunday morning after officials were informed of someone standing on the back of a semi trailer as it was traveling northbound on I-15 in Santaquin.

Hooser and a Utah Highway Patrol trooper reported finding the semi just before 6:30 a.m.

While conducting a traffic stop, officials said the suspect — later identified as 42-year-old Michael Aaron Jayne — turned around the wrong way, striking Hooser and both patrol vehicles.

He fled on foot before allegedly stealing a white Ford truck. Jayne crashed the truck during a pursuit in the Vernal area and was taken into custody.

A family who lived in the area said they watched officers capture Jayne along Highway 191.

“How could he do that? How could you know that you caused harm to somebody and just leave the scene and not even stay or care what happened to him?” said Jana Fitzgerald, who witnessed the arrest.

A shelter-in-place was issued for several cities while the manhunt for Jayne ensued.

That’s where Fitzgerald and her family witnessed Jayne’s arrest.

“All of a sudden, we see dirt, and I was like, ‘what is that?’ We saw black marks going across the road down into a ravine. The cops were running across the road,” Fitzgerald said.

Fitzgerald explained that police flocked to the ravine to arrest Jayne.

“You could see the cops with the batons trying to break out the window on the passenger side because they couldn’t get him out,” she said.

The Fitzgerald family expressed that this tragic incident will have a profound impact on their community.

“The family is going to have to pay for it for the rest of their lives. Not having a father or a husband around,” said Brett Fitzgerald, another eyewitness to the arrest. “Someone was hurt today; somebody died because somebody was careless.”

Christopher Horne Jr Charged In Kayla Rincon-Miller Murder

Christopher Horne Jr
Christopher Horne Jr

Christopher Horne Jr is an alleged teen killer from Florida who has been charged as an adult for the murder of Kayla Rincon-Miller

According to police reports Kayla Rincon-Miller was walking with a group of friends when she was approached by a vehicle driven by Thomas Stein when she would be fatally shot by Christopher Horne Jr. Police believe the purpose behind the shooting was a robbery gone wrong

Thomas Stein was arrested first where he would be charged with robbery and murder

A month later Christopher Horne Jr would be arrested and has been charged with robbery and murder

Christopher Horne Jr News

The second teenager arrested in connection with the shooting death of 15-year-old Kayla Rincon-Miller faced a judge Thursday.

Christopher Devon Horne Jr., 16, of Cape Coral, arrested Wednesday by Cape Coral police, appeared before Lee Circuit Judge Gilberto Perez, who ordered he will be held in juvenile detention for 21 days and was ordered no contact with Rincon-Miller’s family or Thomas Stein, 16, the other teenager arrested in the case.

Horne, who faces charges of principal to a homicide while engaged in a robbery, is next due in court May 6. Meanwhile, Stein’s case was moved to adult court April 11.

During an April 11 hearing, after the testimony of Cape Coral police Detective Michael Lasalandra, Lee Circuit Judge Robert Branning ruled that Thomas Stein be held without bond related to the March 17 shooting. He will be tried as an adult

Lasalandra, who’s been a detective at Cape Coral police’s Violent Crimes Unit for four years, said he was working March 17 and responded to the shooting of Rincon-Miller at Southeast 20th Street and Southeast 16th Lane.

Lasalandra said Rincon-Miller died at a hospital. The police detective said he spoke with two witnesses who were with Rincon-Miller, and they gave descriptions of the people who robbed them.

Lasalandra revealed that surveillance footage captured the car, but not the murder. When they ran the license plate, he said, it showed the vehicle was a rental registered to Hertz.

A search warrant revealed the SUV was rented to Thomas Stein’s mother, Jessica Stein. Lasalandra said Hertz has a GPS tracking system that helped them place the rented SUV at the scene.

While a preliminary report from Cape Coral police indicated investigators didn’t believe Thomas Stein was the shooter, Lasalandra said that piece of the puzzle remained under investigation as of April 11.

Cape Coral police Chief Anthy Sizemore on Wednesday didn’t confirm Horne’s role in the homicide.

“There will be a few,” Sizemore said when asked Wednesday if any further arrests are expected in Rincon-Miller’s death.

Police reports indicate at least two individuals brandished firearms when the SUV blinded Rincon-Miller and her two friends with its headlights

Christopher Horne Jr Other News

Christopher Devon Horne, Jr., 16, did not appear before a judge on Monday morning. The judge said there was no need to bring the teen into the courtroom as he will be charged as an adult.

WINK News Reporter Asha Patel attended Monday morning’s court hearing. She saw at least 10 of Horne, Jr.’s friends and family. His mother was in tears as she heard her son would face adult charges.

Horne, Jr. is the second suspect, the second teen, arrested for the murder of Kayla Rincon-Miller.

He was arrested on Wednesday, April 17, one month to the day after Rincon-Miller was violently gunned down following an attempted robbery in Cape Coral. She, and two friends, were walking to a McDonald’s after going to the movies.

Horne, Jr. is charged as a principal to a homicide while engaged in a robbery, the exact charges as Thomas Stein, a 16-year-old who faces charges as an adult.

Stein was arrested on March 19, two days after Rincon-Miller’s murder, accused of being the getaway driver during the robbery.
