he boyfriend of the 24-year-old woman who was found dead in a Canton park faced a judge Friday morning, according to the office of the Stark County Clerk of Courts.

Sean Goe, 26, was arraigned on several separate charges Friday morning including, a felony burglary charge, a felony grand theft charge, two misdemeanor criminal damaging charges and a misdemeanor domestic violence charge from this year.

None of the charges address the suspected murder of his girlfriend, 24-year-old Raychel Sheridan, who’s body was found wrapped in plastic in a trash can Wednesday morning.

Goe is currently being held in Stark County County Jail on a $500,000 bond for a criminal damaging charge and domestic violence charge from May.

However, in a press conference, Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier said Sheridan is believed to have been murdered by her live-in boyfriend, Goe.

tark County Sheriff deputies were called out to Sheridan and Goe’s apartment in the 4100 block of Orchard Dale Drive NW around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday after Sheridan’s mother requested a welfare check.

Sheriff Maier said the apartment’s door was open and nobody was inside, but since the scene was “suspicious”, deputies requested a search warrant.

While waiting for the search warrant, deputies said they saw a maroon Jeep Liberty, believed to be registered to Sheridan, traveling on Guilford Ave NW.

The driver, identified as Goe, fled on foot into a dense, wooded area after being stopped, deputies said.

After searching for several hours, Goe was arrested early Wednesday morning and is being held at the Stark County Jail.

Sheriff Maier added the murder is believed to have happened in the couple’s apartment, but the cause of death is not known.

Deputies said Goe also has active warrants for burglary, grand theft of a firearm and domestic violence.

According to court documents, Goe allegedly stole a handgun from a North Canton residence in April and in May, physically threatened Sheridan and cut holes in her tires.

Goe was also arraigned on a seatbelt charge from 2023, for which he plead guilty to.

Sean Goe Charged With Murder

A man suspected in the death of his girlfriend, 27-year-old Raychel Sheridan, has now been formally charged with murder.

Sean J. Goe, 26, of Plain Township, faces felony counts of murder, gross abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence, as well as a misdemeanor count of domestic violence according to a news release from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheridan was reported missing on Tuesday, after sheriff’s deputies went to her Orchard Dale Drive Northwest apartment for a welfare check. Inside they found evidence of foul play, authorities previously said.

Deputies found Sheridan’s live-in boyfriend, Goe, driving her SUV on Guilford Avenue Northwest and pulled him over, according to the release. Goe then fled on foot.

State and local authorities launched “extensive search efforts” by ground and air and finally arrested Goe in the early hours of Wednesday, July 3, at a homeless shelter, according to the release.

After police executed a search warrant at Sheridan’s home and interviewed Goe, they determined he murdered her inside the apartment.

City sanitation workers found her body in a park on the city’s southwest side later that morning.

Goe is now jailed on a $1 million bond, and is due for arraignment on Tuesday, July 9, according to court records.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the investigation is asked to call deputies at 330-430-3800, or use the sheriff’s office’s mobile app, found on any smartphone’s app store by searching “Stark Sheriff Ohio.”

Bricen Rivers Murders Lauren Johansen

Bricen Rivers Lauren Johansen
Bricen Rivers Lauren Johansen

Bricen Rivers is an alleged killer from Tennessee who has been charged with the murder of his ex girlfriend Lauren Johansen

According to police reports Bricen Rivers had been arrested and charged with kidnapping and a brutal assault of Lauren Johansen back in December 2023. Even though family members would tell the Judge that their daughter life would be in danger if Rivers was let out of jail the Judge would eventually lower his bond and Bricen would be able to bond out

Just days after being released from a Tennessee jail the body of Lauren Johansen would be found mutilated and wrapped in trash bags at a Mississippi cemetery and Bricen Rivers would be arrested and charged with his murder

As part of his release Bricen Rivers was suppose to stay in Tennessee and be fitted with an ankle monitor, both of which he completely ignored. A security camera at the residence of Lauren Johansen was disabled and her front door was open as well as her car was missing. By the time they were able to track down her car it was too late as it was located at a cemetery in Mississippi where her body would be found

Bricen Rivers News

Days after a woman’s ex-boyfriend bonded out of jail in Nashville, Tennessee, without an ankle monitor, despite her family’s insistence in court that her life would be in danger unless he remained in custody, 22-year-old Lauren Johansen was found dead Wednesday in her own car in a Mississippi cemetery, “mutilated” and wrapped in sheets and trash bags.

This is the series of events that was recounted by Lauren’s father Lance Johansen in an emotional interview with local ABC and CBS affiliate WLOX. The reported orthopedic surgeon said that family begged a Nashville judge not to let 23-year-old Bricen Rivers out of jail, but the court allowed it, and then his daughter was murdered as a result.

Lance said that he appeared in court and urged Judge Cheryl Blackburn not to let Rivers out of jail during a pending aggravated kidnapping, aggravated stalking and coercion of a witness case from December 2023, because he was certain the defendant “was going to kill” Lauren, who was the victim in the pending case.

Blackburn, whose competency has been questioned in recent months by local defense lawyers, lowered Rivers’ bond from $250,000 to $150,000, records show. It’s unclear exactly when the defendant was released, but it was a matter of days before Johansen’s death, and prosecutors reportedly said they objected to the bond lowering.

Rivers allegedly ignored a requirement to stay in Davidson County, Tenn., ignored a requirement to get an ankle monitor, and was subsequently arrested and charged with Lauren Johansen’s murder across state lines.

The WLOX news segment aired a message that Lance Johansen said he received from the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office on July 1 telling him that Rivers was out of jail.

“This is Bailey calling from the district attorney’s office in Nashville. Bricen Rivers was released from custody. He was supposed to report straight to a GPS company and be put on a GPS monitor and he was not to leave Davidson County,” the recording aired on the news said. “But as soon as he was released, he did not report to that GPS monitoring company, and he has not been heard from. I wanted to make sure Lauren is safe.”

By that point, it seems, it was already close to too late to save Lauren. The father said that he texted Lauren and got a response that didn’t sound like her. Then, in the early morning hours of July 2, he saw that the tracking feature on Lauren’s Life360 location sharing app was no longer active.

The story only got worse from there.

Lance told WLOX that he reported his daughter missing to police in Hattiesburg soon after he learned that a security camera at a home where Lauren lived with her sister was no longer functioning, that the front door to the residence was open, and that Lauren and her car were not there.

The grieving father said that by the time Lauren’s car was found via OnStar on Wednesday afternoon in “the middle of the cemetery” in Harrison County, he knew that “she was dead.”

But he could not have been prepared for what he saw next.

“When we got there, her car was in the middle of the cemetery and she was in the back of the car wrapped up in sheets and trash bags. She was basically beaten to death,” Lance Johansen reportedly told WLOX. “Her face was smashed in, her head was smashed in, she was brutally beaten to the point she couldn’t see out of either eye when she finally died and there was multiple holes in her head. I helped the coroner lift her body out of the car. It was just mutilated.”

“Everything she did, everything she touched turned to gold — except for this guy,” he added.

Rivers allegedly ran off when cops arrived at the cemetery and was arrested in the woods several hours later.

Jail records reviewed by Law&Crime show that Bricen Rivers was booked with a $1,000,000 bond not long after midnight on July 4.

Colby Stokes More News

A man and woman were shot and killed Wednesday in the small Washington Parish town of Mount Hermon. According to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, the couple’s grandson confessed to shooting them.

WPSO dispatchers got the call Wednesday afternoon. The caller told them their next-door neighbor, 23-year-old Colby Stokes, had come over and told them he killed his grandparents. When deputies arrived, Stokes told them the same thing.

They found Beverly and Carley Stokes at their home. Both had been shot. Carley Stokes was pronounced dead at the scene, while Beverly Stokes was taken to a hospital where she died a short time later.

Sheriff Jason Smith, who was sworn in less than a week ago, told WWL Louisiana Colby Stokes also confessed to the shooting on video. He added that Stokes was not a stranger to the Sheriff’s Office.

“He’s been in and out of jail,” he said, referencing “past mental health” struggles and “some drug and alcohol abuse.” In 2018, WPSO posted Stokes’ photo on Facebook with a description of a recent arrest for a burglary, in which multiple firearms were stolen. He was 17 at the time.

Now, he is facing two murder charges for the deaths of his grandparents. ”This family, they’re on both sides of this,” said Smith, “not only have they been victimized by it, they’ve also perpetrated it, so it’s a very difficult circumstance to be in.”

WWL Louisiana spoke with a family member who said neither he nor any others wished to speak on camera.

Through a family friend, they passed on the message that “they are dealing with the loss of two wonderful people and just trying to process… they ask prayers at this time for everyone involved. It is a tragedy that no one should have to face.” They also provided several photos of Beverly and Carley Stokes, which show them with their arms wrapped around each other, smiling.

Sheriff Smith said he is from Mount Hermon as well and knew Carley Stokes personally. “He was very personable,” he said. “He was a former Marine, like myself, so we would always talk about that, he had worked for WST for years. He was well-known and well-liked.”

Stokes will be booked and charged with two counts of 2nd-degree murder

LaShanda Wilder Murders 8 Yr Old Son

LaShanda Wilder
LaShanda Wilder

LaShanda Wilder is an alleged killer from Ohio who has been charged with the murder of her eight year old son

According to police reports eight year old Martonio Wilder was reporting missing after his mother, LaShanda Wilder told a relative the little boy had run away. After an AMBER alert was issue and an intense search took place for Martonio Wilder police began to get suspicious on the way LaShanda was behaving.

Police in Columbus Ohio would issue a search warrant at LaShanda Wilder residence and in the attic would find the body of the eight year old with a deep slash to his neck and wrapped up in a trash bag

LaShanda Wilder would be arrested and charged with murder

LaShanda Wilder News

Martonio Wilder’s favorite phrase was, “I love you.”

That’s what the 8-year-old’s family said Monday after a court appearance for Martonio’s mother, Lashanda Wilder, who is accused of killing the 8-year-old.

“I’m not sure I want to know the truth,” Wilder’s aunt Rachelle Knight said.

Martonio’s body was found Friday evening in the attic of a home in the 1000 block of Olmstead Avenue. An autopsy revealed he died from “deep neck compressions,” and court records say his body was found in a trash bag inside another container.

Franklin County Family Services also confirmed Monday that it has been working with Wilder and her family for at least two years.

Wilder, 32, and her partner, Johnna Lowe, 33, had called Columbus police on Friday morning to report Martonio missing. They said they had not seen the 8-year-old since the night before. Wilder is accused of killing the 8-year-old and hiding his body in the attic, while Lowe is charged with obstructing justice.

Wilder did not appear at the video hearing from the jail because the Franklin County sheriff’s office, which operates the jail, said she was “unruly.” A public defender waived Wilder’s appearance at the hearing, and Judge Gina Russo ordered her held on a $2 million bond in her absence.

Russo ordered Lowe held in jail on a $500,000 bond.

Columbus police received a call Friday afternoon from Wilder that her 8-year-old son, Martonio, was missing and had not been seen since the previous night, according to court records.

Officers began searching, using tools including drones and a helicopter, in an effort to find Martonio. Eventually, investigators brought in a cadaver dog trained to detect scents of human decomposition to aid in the search, court records say.

Police said Wilder became uncooperative, so they asked for permission to use the dog in the home. She and Lowe left the house along with two other children.

Police secured a search warrant, and a search of the home uncovered Martonio’s body in a trash bag and a “bivy cover” in the attic.

During the investigation, Wilder and Lowe did not return to the home and did not contact detectives or officers about their location.

Seia Glover, Martonio’s cousin, said the boy only wanted to be loved

“From the outside looking in, there’s a lot of questions about where his family was,” Glover said. “We were there, but we couldn’t be there all the time.”

Knight added that Franklin County Family services visited the home the day before the discovery of the boy’s remains in the attic, and Martonio wasn’t home.

Scott Varner, a spokesman for Franklin County Family Services, said he could not confirm Thursday’s visit, but said the agency and its caseworkers have been working with Wilder and her family since May 2022 providing services including case management, referral assistance and behavior health support through Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

The family members said they’ve learned things in the wake of Martonio’s death about how the children in the home were living, particularly Martonio.

“Some of the minor things that were red flags but didn’t really seem like they would lead to something like this of this magnitude, it caught us all off guard. She had support,” Glover said. “There’s no excuse for this boy to be dead. There’s no reason for him to be stuffed up in the attic like he didn’t matter.”

Glover spoke Monday about an incident she said occurred around Mother’s Day. She said she returned Wilder to the Olmstead Avenue home, and Martonio had jumped out a window. In retrospect, she wondered if he was trying to get away from something.

Knight said she continues to love Wilder, despite the “horrific mistake” she made, adding: “Her final judgment is never going to be here. It’s going to be with God.”

Police issued an Amber Alert was issued after detectives could not locate Wilder, Lowe or the other two children.

Those children, a 9-year-old and a 3-year-old, were found a short time later at the home of one of Lowe’s relatives.

Court records say Wilder and Lowe had their phones turned off.

Franklin County Family Services took custody of the two surviving children.

“We’ve been working with our partners in law enforcement and the courts to find the best temporary placement for the boys while this situation is investigated and resolved,” Varner said. “Their safety and well-being are our priority.”
How did Martonio Wilder die?

The Franklin County Coroner’s office performed an autopsy on Martonio.

Court records say the pathologist found “deep compression marks” on Martonio’s neck and ruled his death a homicide.

Wilder has been charged with murder.
Where were Lashanda Wilder and Johnna Lowe found?

Columbus police said that Wilder and Lowe surrendered to police around 5 p.m. Saturday.

Both were taken to the Franklin County jail. They are expected to have their first hearings on Monday where a bond will be set.
