Assamad Nash Charged In Christina Yuna Lee Murder

Assamad Nash

Assamad Nash has been charged in the brutal murder of Christina Yuna Lee in New York City. According to police reports Assamad Nash would stalk Christina Yuna Lee back to her apartment where the career criminal would stab the woman to death. Assamad Nash who was out on bail at the time of the murder would be found inside of Christina Yuna Lee apartment hiding underneath the bed and covered in blood. Christina Yuna Lee was a successful advertising exec. At this time police do not know if the pair knew each other or if this was yet another random murder in the Big Apple

Assamad Nash More News

A 35-year-old woman was stabbed to death inside her Lower Manhattan apartment early Sunday by a man who had followed her from the street and into her building, the police said.

The woman, whom police identified as Christina Yuna Lee, was the latest person of Asian descent injured or killed in a string of random attacks in New York City, many of them committed by people who had severe mental illness.

Surveillance video obtained by The New York Post shows Ms. Lee being trailed to her building on Chrystie Street in Chinatown by a man who catches the door behind her and follows her inside. In the video, Ms. Lee enters the building vestibule just minutes before 4:30 a.m. and walks down the hallway and out of the camera’s view as the man, identified by police officials as Assamad Nash, 25, trails her.

Neighbors called the police a short time later about a disturbance, the police said, and when they got to the building, the door to Ms. Lee’s apartment was locked, and Mr. Nash had barricaded himself inside.

When Emergency Service Unit officers arrived and broke in, police officials said, Ms. Lee was found dead in her bathtub. Mr. Nash tried to escape out of a back window, the police said. He was arrested inside the apartment, they said. He had cuts and lacerations and was taken to Bellevue Hospital.

Ms. Lee was a Rutgers University graduate and worked as a senior creative producer at Splice, an online platform for digital music, a company spokeswoman confirmed. She had also worked on photo and video campaigns for brands such as Marriott International and Equinox, according to her website.

Mr. Nash has a history of misdemeanor arrests, court records show, including an incident in September in Grand Street station, near the building where the killing occurred, when a 62-year man told the police that Mr. Nash had punched him in the face after the man swiped his MetroCard for another passenger.

Though the police have not called the killing a hate crime, attacks against Asian Americans have been on the rise since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. Last December, the Police Department reported that such attacks were up 361 percent from the previous year, and last month, Michelle Alyssa Go, a 40-year-old Asian American woman, was pushed to her death while waiting for a southbound R train at Times Square.

Last week, Jarrod Powell, 50, was charged with second-degree murder as a hate crime in the death of Yao Pan Ma, a 61-year-old Chinese immigrant, who died on Dec. 31 from injuries he suffered in an East Harlem attack in April.

Police officials said it does not appear Ms. Lee knew her attacker or had any prior contact with him before he followed her home

She lived in a six-story walk-up steps from the Grand Street subway station. As snow fell on Sunday afternoon, police guarded the building, allowing only residents and detectives to enter. A small grocery store advertising cigarettes and soda in Chinese was shuttered.

Andrew Oaks, 30, who lives in the building, said that he was awake at 4:30 a.m. when he heard screams that “sounded like something out of a movie.” He added that he “thought nothing of it,” until he heard banging on the door and the police began questioning residents later in the morning.

In a tweet Sunday afternoon, Mayor Eric Adams called the stabbing “horrific,” saying “we stand with our Asian community today.”

“While the suspect who committed this heinous act is now in custody, the conditions that created him remain,” Mr. Adams said in an official statement shortly after his tweet. “The mission of this administration is clear: We won’t let this violence go unchecked.”

Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou, who represents the district, called the details of the attack a “worst nightmare scenario.”

“She was still screaming and fighting for her life, and they weren’t able to get to her for almost an hour and a half,” Ms. Niou said.

She said she was emotionally drained from the string of rallies she and other Asian American community leaders have had to attend in recent weeks, including one two days ago about a Korean diplomat who was assaulted.

“This has happened so many times, and we have attended too many vigils,” she said.

Mr. Nash had been arrested at least four times last year on misdemeanor charges, including assault, harassment and selling a fare card, court records show. Three of the cases remain open, according to online court records. A spokesman for the Legal Aid Society, which is representing him in the open matters, declined to comment.

Police released Mr. Nash with a desk-appearance ticket in the assault case and in an earlier arrest in connection with the unlawful sale of a fare card, according to court records shared by the Manhattan district attorney’s office. At his arraignment on Oct. 13 on the assault case, the judge released him without bail, the records show.

On Jan. 8, Mr. Nash was arrested again and charged with criminal mischief and possession of a forged instrument. According to a criminal complaint, he disabled several MetroCard vending machines at Herald Square, Penn Station and Second Avenue over a monthlong spree. When he was arrested, the police said, he tried to escape from a holding van after cops found bent MetroCards in his pockets.

At his arraignment, a judge put Assamad Nash under supervised release, requiring him to check in three times a month, twice in person and once by phone, according to the records.

Carlos Rivera Pleads Guilty To Chloe Ricard Death

Carlos Rivera chloe ricard

Carlos Rivera has plead guilty to the sexual assault of thirteen year old Chloe Ricard and to giving the young teen drugs that would ultimately kill her. According to court documents Carlos Rivera would sexually assault thirteen year old Chloe Ricard than give her cocaine that was laced with fentanyl which would ultimately kill her. Carlos Rivera would drop Chloe Ricard off at a hospital after she was unconscious for hours and unfortunately the hospital was unable to save her. Carlos Rivera who had a pattern of giving underage girls drinks laced with drugs so he would be able to sexually assault them was sentenced to 20 to 22 years in prison followed by 10 years of probation.

Carlos Rivera More News

A Lawrence man was sentenced to 20 to 22 years in state prison after pleading guilty to 19 charges related to the 2019 death of a 13-year-old Amesbury girl.

Carlos Rivera, 49, pleaded guilty to 19 charges Friday in Salem Superior Court including rape, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a child, human trafficking and several drug charges.

From late 2013 to 2019, officials said Rivera victimized three adult women and seven girls under the age of 18, including 13-year-old Chloe Ricard.

In May of 2019, Rivera was accused of giving drugs to Ricard before she was dropped off at a hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

According to the Essex District Attorney’s Office, had the case gone to trial, Essex Assistant District Attorney Jessica Strasnick would have introduced evidence that would have proved that on May 20, 2019, Carlos Rivera drove Ricard, who was unresponsive and without a pulse, to Lawrence General Hospital.

Investigators learned that a friend had received a Snapchat video of Ricard, showing her unresponsive and unconscious at 7:00 am that morning. She remained in that condition at Rivera’s home until he brought her to the hospital 9 hours later, the DA’s office said.

A subsequent investigation found that the defendant provided alcohol, drugs, food, clothing and gifts to multiple girls in exchange for sexual acts, officials said.

“Nothing we do can erase the trauma inflicted by this defendant or bring Chloe back to her family,” Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said. “This defendant engaged in abhorrent behavior and preyed on vulnerable girls and young women solely for his own satisfaction. I hope his pleading guilty today helps the victims understand that what happened to them is not their fault and that they may begin the long process of healing.”

According to NBC Boston, in court Friday, Strasnick detailed the allegations that Rivera admitted in his plea agreement, including recruiting teenage girls between 12-16 years old and having them perform sex acts on each other and him in exchange for drugs and clothes, among other things.

“He would give the girls food, drugs, alcohol, gifts, take them shopping at various places, out to eat — and all they had to do was something sexual to him, with him or in front of him,” said Strasnick, NBC Boston reported.

Judge Thomas Drechsler sentenced Rivera Friday to 20 to 22 years in state prison, followed by 10 years of probation.

Conditions of his probation include orders to participate in substance use, mental health and sex offender evaluations and undergo any treatment deemed necessary, stay away from and have no contact with any of the victims, have no unsupervised contact with children under 18, submit to GPS monitoring for at least 2 years, and comply with the Sex Offender Registry Board.

Daniel Redman Kills Brother 5 Days After Getting Out Of Prison

Daniel Redman

Daniel Redman has been charged with a host of criminal charges including the murder of his brother just five days after being released from prison. According to police reports Daniel Redman would shoot his nineteen year old brother Brenden Redman who would later die at the hospital. Daniel Redman would also take another person hostage who was suffering from injuries when police tracked them down. Instead of just turning himself over to police in Florida Daniel Redman would make a move appearing he was reaching for a weapon when he was shot by police. Daniel Redman would be brought to the hospital and charged with premeditated murder, kidnapping with intent to commit/commission any felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, shooting/throwing a deadly missile into dwelling/conveyance, and burglary with battery. Needless to say the Florida Prison System continues to fail to rehabilitate inmates.

Daniel Redman More News

Florida man who had been out of prison for five days when his 19-year-old brother was shot dead has been charged with his murder, authorities said.

Daniel Redman, 29, left his brother Brenden Redman lying in a driveway in Inverness with apparent gunshot wounds on Jan. 14, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said Friday. Redman fled the scene, and Brendan Redman was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Investigators identified the suspect as Redman, who was released from prison on Jan. 9, the sheriff’s office said. Police have not said what led to the shooting.

Within minutes of launching a search for Redman, the sheriff’s office said deputies and a K-9 unit tracked him to a motor home about a quarter-mile away.

Deputies found Redman holding another victim, who had “obvious injuries,” as a hostage, according to authorities. Redman eventually complied with the deputies’ request to release the hostage.

However, Redman refused to comply and raise his hands, instead reaching behind his waistband, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies shot Redman one time and immediately rendered first aid until first responders arrived and rushed him to a hospital.

“The immediate action and quick thinking our deputies demonstrated in this grisly situation speaks volumes to the rigorous training they undergo to serve our citizens,” said Sheriff Mike Prendergast. “In this situation, every second counted, where our deputies were able to respond immediately and save the life of another victim.”

Since the Jan. 14 shooting, Redman has been in the custody of deputies while receiving medical treatment.

On Friday, the sheriff’s office announced Redman was formally arrested and charged with premeditated murder, kidnapping with intent to commit/commission any felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, shooting/throwing a deadly missile into dwelling/conveyance, and burglary with battery.

“I commend our outstanding team of professionals for their dedication and thoroughness during this difficult case,” Prendergast said.

Redman was being held at the Lake Butler Correctional Facility.

Daniel Redman Other News

Deputies have arrested Daniel Arthur Redman, 29, of Inverness, on several charges, including premeditated murder after they say he shot and killed his 19-year-old brother, fled the scene and was shot by deputies after barricading himself in a nearby motor home with a hostage.

According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responding to the area of East Dawson Drive on January 14 to investigate reports of a shooting found Brenden Redman, 19, lying in a driveway with gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Witnesses told deputies the suspected shooter, quickly identified as Daniel Redman, tried to break into their home before he fled on foot. Daniel Redman had been released from prison five days earlier.

With the help of a K-9 unit, deputies began searching for Daniel Redman and quickly located him at a motor home about a quarter of a mile away.

Deputies say when they made contact, they saw Daniel Redman holding another victim, with obvious injuries, hostage. Daniel Redman released the hostage after deputies ordered him to do so. However, when told to show his hands, Daniel Redman refused to comply and reached back toward his waistband. That’s when deputies shot him once, secured him and rendered first aid, until he was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

On Friday, Daniel Redman was officially arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, shooting/throwing a deadly missile into dwelling/conveyance, burglary with battery, premeditated murder and kidnapping with intent to commit/commission any felony.

“The immediate action and quick thinking our deputies demonstrated in this grisly situation speaks volumes to the rigorous training they undergo to serve our citizens,” said Sheriff Mike Prendergast. “In this situation, every second counted, where our deputies were able to respond immediately and save the life of another victim.  I commend our outstanding team of professionals for their dedication and thoroughness during this difficult case.”

Robert Maudsley The Man In The Glass Cage

Robert Maudsley

Robert Maudsley is a serial killer from England that is believed to be so dangerous that he is kept in a glass cage in the basement of the prison he calls home. In this article on My Crime Library we will take a look at Robert Maudsley the serial killer who has been called Hannibal The Cannibal.

Robert Maudsley Early Life

Robert Maudsley was sexually abused when he was a young child that lead to a host of mental health issues. When Robert Maudsley was still a teenager he would confess to a psychiatrist that voices in his head told him to murder his parents. In order to support himself Robert Maudsley would work as a sex worker in London.

Robert Maudsley First Murder

When Robert Maudsley was working as a sex worker he was picked up by John Farrell who according to Maudsley would show him photos of children that he abused. Robert Maudsley would murder him by garrote. Maudsley would turn himself over to police telling them what he did and that he needed psychiatric care. Robert would be found unfit to stand trial and sent to the notorious Broadmoor Hospital.

Robert Maudsley Prison Murders

While at Broadmoor Hospital Robert Maudsley and another patient, David Cheeseman would lock themselves in a cell with another prison, David Francis, who was a convicted child molester. For nine hours the two men would torture and finally kill Francis.

Robert Maudsley would be transferred from Broadmoor Hospital to Wakefield prison after he was convicted of manslaughter for the death of David Francis. Maudsley would complain to prison staff about the transfer and that he wanted to be sent back to Broadmoor. Prison officials would deny his request. Robert Maudsley would respond by killing two inmates on the same day in 1978.

The first inmate to be murdered was a child rapist who Robert Maudsley would lure into his cell before killing him with a garrote and stabbing him repeatedly. Maudsley attempted to lure other prisoners into his cell but no one would go in. Robert Maudsley would then search the prison for his next victim who was convicted of killing his wife. Maudsley would stab the man repeated before smashing his skull against the wall. Robert would then walk to the officer’s desk and put his knife down before telling the officer his count was going to be two short.

Robert Maudsley Glass Cell

After a series of violent incidents authorities in the England prison system deemed Robert Maudsley to dangerous to be housed with other inmates. A cell was built in the basement of the prison where the front of the cell in a glass wall (think Silence Of The Lambs – Hannibal Lector’s cell). Robert Maudsley has been housed in this special management cell for nearly forty years and is now the longest serving prisoner in England. Robert Maudsley has attempted to go back to the regular prison population through the court system however his requests were denied and was told by the judge he is no longer allowed to appeal his decision.

Robert Maudsley More News

The UK’s “Hannibal the Cannibal” serial killer will die in an underground glass box after having his Christmas appeal for freedom refused.

Serial killer Robert Maudsley was told this week he will be incarcerated in his own glass cell until he dies.

He has also been banned from making any further appeals against the decision.

The 68-year-old, who is known as Britain’s most dangerous prisoner, appealed to be allowed to spend the rest of his prison days with the “general population”.

But chiefs ruled him too dangerous to mix with prisoners and guards at HMP Wakefield in West Yorkshire, the Daily Star reports.

Robert Maudsley, who murdered child molesters, will now spend the rest of his life, 23 hours a day, locked alone inside a glass box beneath the jail.

He sleeps on a concrete slab, uses a toilet and sink bolted to the floor and has a table and chair made of compressed cardboard.

An insider told the Daily Star: “He was told no last month but appealed against the decision and wanted to spend Christmas in the presence of other humans. But he’s just been told no for the final time.

“Being alone for that long does something to you. He isn’t OK and they cannot take the risk of what he might do.

“They simply cannot take the risk.”

Maudsley’s underground cell is a specially constructed 5.5 metres by 4.5 metre space with bullet proof glass cage that was built in 1983, nearly ten years after his prison sentence began.

The convicted killer, from Toxteth, Liverpool, was just 21 when he committed his first murder in 1974.

He was jailed for killing a number of people, including John Farrell after he’d showed him photos of children he’d abused.

The murder of John Farrell was so violent, cops named him “blue” because of the colour of his face.

When he was first locked up, Maudsley was sent to Broadmoor Hospital, which houses some of the UK’s most violent prisoners.

After three relatively quiet years behind bars, he seized an opportunity to attack child molester David Francis in 1977, with the help of fellow prisoner David Cheeseman.

The pair tortured him to death before dangling his body for prison guards to see.

In 1978, Maudsley strangled and stabbed Salney Darwood, a 46-year-old who was locked up for killing his wife.

After hiding Darwood’s body under a bed, he then crept into the cell of Bill Roberts, 56, who had sexually abused a seven-year-old girl.

He stabbed Roberts, hacked his skull with a makeshift dagger and smashed his head against a wall.

This isn’t the first time Maudsley has appealed to have a different life to the one he has now

In 2000, he begged the courts to allow him to die.

He wrote in a letter: “What purpose is served by keeping me locked up 23 hours a day?

“Why even bother to feed me and to give me one hour’s exercise a day? Who actually am I a risk to?

“As a consequence of my current treatment and confinement, I feel that all I have to look forward to is indeed psychological breakdown, mental illness and probable suicide.

“Why can’t I have a budgie instead of flies, cockroaches and spiders which I currently have. I promise to love it and not eat it?

“Why can’t I have a television in my cell to see the world and learn? Why can’t I have any music tapes and listen to beautiful classical music?

“If the Prison Service says no then I ask for a simple cyanide capsule which I shall willingly take and the problem of Robert John Maudsley can easily and swiftly be resolved.”

The Ministry of Justice said it does not comment on the cases of individual prisoners.
