The Prichard Police Department released new information about the death of an 18-year-old boy who was shot and killed Friday at a Prichard gas station.

The boy’s mother is a local TikTok star which prompted a national non-profit to jump in and try to solve the case. The non-profit is called the AWARE Foundation.

Prichard Police held a press conference three days after the shooting on Monday. Prichard Detective Jason Hadaway said the victim, 18-year-old Randon Lee, was planning to sell marijuana to some people that Friday night but that’s when things took a turn.

“We do know that Mr. Lee had made his way down to Wilmer to sell narcotics two these two individuals,” Hadaway said.

Lee was shot at the Exxon Gas Station on Saint Stephens Road off I-65.

“My son was murdered, he was shot. And I have this hatred in my heart that I don’t recognize,” Lee’s mother said. “And I want you to look at my son, look at my son! Look at him. Look at him. This is my son, and you took him from me.”

Hadaway, the detective on the case, broke down what happened Friday during a press conference.

“We noticed on video that the suspect, both, and the victim pulled up at the pumps. The suspects in the black vehicle got inside the victim’s vehicle,” Hadaway said.

Hadaway said that’s when Lee was shot by one of the suspects who had gotten into the backseat of Lee’s car at the Exxon Gas Station before Lee drove across the street to another gas station, coming to a stop by a dumpster.

“The first stop gas station on Saint Stephens Road, we do know that he was actually shot there,” the detective said. “Mr. Lee was still alive at that point. He drove his vehicle to try to escape the individuals across Saint Stephens Road and that’s where he came to rest, at the Energize Gas Station across the street. EMS was called and they tried to perform medical treatment on him, he died on scene.”

Prichard Police said they have a couple of suspects in mind, but at this time they’ve not released any information about them.

The suspects do have a criminal history, according to the PPD. The detective also stated that Lee has sold to the suspects in the past.

Azuradee France Charged After Boy Found In Freezer

Azuradee France

Azuradee France is a woman from Detroit Michigan after police found the body of her three year old son dead in a freezer. According to police reports a wellness check was performed at her home and officers found the body of three year old Chase Allen was found dead in the freezer and the little boy had been there for quite sometime. According to family members child protective services had been sent to the home multiple times and Azuradee France would tell them that her son was living with his Grandfather girlfriend in Florida. Well turns out the Grandfather was in prison during this time and when he finally got out he would tell police he had not seen his grandchild in quite a long time. Azuradee France has been charged with felony murder, first-degree child abuse, torture and concealing the death of an individual.

Azuradee France More News

Azuradee France has been charged with murder after the body of her 3-year-old son was found in a basement freezer.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced Sunday that Azuradee France, 31, has been charged with felony murder, first-degree child abuse, torture and concealing the death of an individual.

“The alleged facts in this case have astounded even the seriously jaded,” Worthy said in a statement Sunday. “Our children continue to be at risk — not just from gun violence but also from the alleged murderer that lives in the house with them.

Azuradee France was arraigned Sunday and remanded to jail. A probable cause conference is set for 8:30 a.m. July 8, and a preliminary examination for 1:30 p.m. July 15 before Judge Kenneth King.

Detroit police officers were sent to a home in the 12760 block of Monte Vista for a wellness check on a child at 12:45 p.m. Friday and discovered the remains of a deceased child in the freezer,

The medical examiner determined the boy’s death was a homicide. The case remains under investigation, and the facts and evidence will be placed on the record at the preliminary examination, the Prosecutor’s Office said.

Police said Friday that when a team of Detroit cops and a state child advocate arrived at the house, the woman who answered the door acted strangely.

They called for a supervisor and the team entered the home, found five children living in squalor and the decomposed body of the boy entombed in a basement freezer.

“This case has shocked me, and shocked our investigators,” Detroit Police Chief James White said during a press conference Friday just down the street from the crime scene.

Toni Haynes, the boy’s grandmother, said Friday her dead grandson’s name was Chase Allen, and that he was blind.

Haynes said she became suspicious when her daughter, Chase’s mother, told her the boy had burned his hand by touching a plateful of noodles so she called Child Protective Services.

“I called CPS on her. A lot of us called, and they’d come out and give her kids right back to her.”

Haynes said after the state visited her daughter’s home several times, her daughter told her Chase had gone to live with his paternal grandfather’s girlfriend in Coldwater.

“But then (the grandfather) got out of jail and he told me Chase wasn’t living with his girlfriend,” Haynes said.

She said family members went to the house on Monte Vista about two weeks ago to confront her daughter, followed by another call to state Child Protective Services

Haynes said she had no idea how long Chase had been entombed in the freezer.

Haynes has set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money for Chase’s funeral, and for clothing and other necessities for the surviving children.

Friday’s grisly discovery harkened to a 2015 case involving Mitchelle Blair, who enlisted the aid of two of her children to help kill their two siblings and cram their bodies into a freezer.

Known as the “Freezer Mom,” Blair pleaded guilty to first-degree murder charges and is serving a life prison sentence.

A woman is accused of murder after a fire and alleged attempted stabbing. Deputies said they found seven juveniles at a home in Paulding County, Georgia, on Friday night. Of the five got hurt, two were dead at the scene. Then a third died at a hospital. Authorities later announced that a fourth passed away, but they walked that back, after saying they had a miscommunication with hospital staff.

“Major correction, we were informed incorrectly,” Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Tyler McSwain told Law&Crime in an email. “The 4th child did not pass away but is still in critical condition. There was miscommunication with hospital staff.”

Darlene Brister, 40, faces two counts of malice murder. Deputies suggested more charges were likely, according to The Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionWSB-TV described Brister as the children’s mother.

“At approximately 9:19pm on June 24th, 2022, Paulding E-911 received a call about a domestic disturbance and house fire at 776 Woodwind Dr., Rockmart, GA 30153,” deputies said in an initial news release. “It was reported that a female who was inside the home was attempting to stab the occupants and that at the time of the call, the home was on fire and the occupants were inside.”

Deputies and firefighter arrived, officials said. Authorities put out the fire.

That leaves only four children alive, with two of them injured

“Since the victims involved are juveniles, their personal and identifying information will not be released at this time,” deputies said.

Officials did not say how the children specifically died: the fire, any alleged stabbing, or both.

Several neighbors said the family lived at the home for almost five years, but while they saw them often, they did not know them well, according to WSB-TV. They described hearing about ongoing domestic problems at the residence, though they said they did not think it would get this bad.

“She doesn’t talk to anyone,” neighbor Edward Swinger said.

“We would see them but we wouldn’t communicate with them,”  neighbor Willie Hayes said.

Locals voiced shock and outrage at what allegedly happened.

“I just don’t know who would do that to their kids,” neighbor Holly Addison said.

“She had to be sick or so selfish and so self-centered that she didn’t care about anything or anyone,” another neighbor Robin Zerby said

“For that woman to do that is unbelievably selfish,” David Zerby said, according to WAGA. “All she had to do was take the kids to a hospital … drop them off.”

Brister was locked up without bond at Paulding County Detention Center, the sheriff’s office said.

The jury began deliberating just before 4 p.m. Monday. White’s family said they had faith the jury would see through Montoya’s defense.

The verdict was in by Tuesday afternoon – Montoya was found guilty on all counts, including first-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
