Valencia Duke is an alleged killer from Washington DC who has been charged with the murder of her thirteen month old daughter
According to police reports officers would go to a residence in Washington DC where they would find twin thirteen month old infants. The little girl was already in a state of decomposition and her twin brother was fighting for his life.
Officers would later learn that Valencia Duke had placed the twins in the playpen and left the residence for an extended period of time, it was later determined it was for four days where she spent a total of two hours with the twins.
The little boy was rushed to the hospital where he is recovering from severe malnutrition and dehydration

Valencia Duke, 25, of the District of Columbia, was arrested and charged Wednesday with first-degree felony murder and two counts of first-degree cruelty to children for the January 18 death of her thirteen-month-old daughter and near death of her thirteen-month-old son in Southeast, D.C., announced U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.
Duke made her initial appearance June 4 before Superior Court Judge Heidi Hermann. Judge Hermann found probable cause that Duke committed the offenses and ordered her to be held without bond pending trial. According to court documents, between January 14 and January 18, 2026, Duke left her two thirteen-month-old children alone in her residence. On January 18, 2026, officers responded to the 4700 block of Southern Avenue Southeast and located the female child deceased and decomposing and the male child dehydrated and malnourished. The male child was transported to the hospital where he stayed for several days. An autopsy was done on the female child where it was determined that her cause of death was dehydration. Joining in the announcement was Interim Chief Jeffrey W. Carroll of the Metropolitan Police Department. This case is being investigated by the Special Victims Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department. This matter is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Emma McArthur.

A mother is facing charges in the death of her 13-month-old daughter and the alleged neglect of her son, four months after officers found the toddlers alone inside her D.C. home, according to prosecutors.
Valencia Duke, 25 was arrested and charged Wednesday with first-degree felony murder and two counts of first-degree cruelty to children in connection with the Jan. 18 death of her daughter, and the neglect of her 13-month-old son in Southeast D.C., U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said in a news release.
Duke appeared Thursday before Superior Court Judge Heidi Herrmann, who ordered the 25-year-old mother be held without bond, according to prosecutors.
According to court documents, Duke left her two 13-month-old children alone in her residence between Jan. 14 and Jan. 18.
Officers who responded to the 4700 block of Southern Ave. SE on Jan. 18 found the girl, whose body was decomposing, and the boy, dehydrated and malnourished. He was hospitalized for several days. An autopsy determined the girl died of dehydration, according to court documents.

A mother from Southeast D.C. is facing murder charges after police said her 13-month-old baby girl died from dehydration and malnourishment due to neglect.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Valencia Duke, 25, was arrested on June 3, several months after the incident.
Duke, who police identified as the baby’s mother, has been charged with first-degree felony murder and two counts of cruelty to children.
The case began around 6:03 p.m. Jan. 18, when Sixth District officers responded to the 4700 block of Southern Avenue SE following a report of an unconscious child.
Police said when they arrived at the scene, they found a 13-month-old girl and a 13-month-old boy inside an apartment.
DC Fire and EMS paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the girl, Mazouri Jones, dead after finding no signs consistent with life.
The baby boy was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. There is no word on his condition.
MPD officials said on April 3, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the girl’s cause of death as dehydration and malnourishment due to neglect. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.
Duke was taken into custody pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant.
Court documents allege that Duke left the twin babies alone in her apartment between Jan. 14 and Jan. 18.
