Sarnia police have arrested one suspect and issued a warrant for another in the Lambton College bar shooting that left one man dead and two others injured
Dane Nisbet, 20, of Sarnia was killed and two of his former teammates on the Mooretown Flags junior C hockey team suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being shot early Friday morning at the Lion’s Den pub.
Oudom (Richard) Bun, 23, of London was charged Saturday with second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder, Sarnia police said in a news release.
An arrest warrant is sought for Kyaw (Chin) Doe, 24, of London on charges of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
Police believe Kyaw (Chin) Doe went into hiding soon after the shooting. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, police said.
Kyaw (Chin) Doe is not believed to be in the Sarnia area, police said. They said he may be getting help from people in western and northern Ontario.
The investigation continued Sunday with the Sarnia police’s emergency response team going to a Venetian Boulevard hotel in the afternoon after executing a warrant in the morning in the 300 block of Indian Road North.
Sarnia police executed warrants mid-morning Saturday on two London residences, one in the 200 block of Boullee Street and one on Stonehenge Place, with help from London police. They seized the vehicle believed to be used in the shooting.
They found Bun at one residence while executing the warrants. He was arrested and taken to Sarnia for a video bail hearing Sunday.
Sarnia police also arrested two females late Friday morning. They’re not believed to be involved with the shooting and were released unconditionally, police said.
Anyone who sees Doe or knows his location is asked to call 911. He’s under a court order prohibiting him from having firearms.
Sarnia police investigators and forensic examiners have finished processing the two London addresses. The Lambton College shooting scene has been cleared.
The shooting took place Friday at about 1 a.m. Two hours earlier, police were called to an Exmouth Street bar after a report of two males with one gun, possibly two. The bar’s front door glass was also broken.
The two males fled in a vehicle before police arrived. A caller gave police a licence plate, but it proved to be incorrect.
Officers found one male who’d fled on foot and arrested him behind a dumpster for the broken glass. He was investigated after the shooting and later excluded from that investigation.
Police searched for the two suspects despite not having their names or licence plate. They stopped one vehicle that was a possible match, but it didn’t have the suspects.

On Sunday, one day after police raided two homes in London, Sarnia police said they had charged two 19-year-olds after arrests at a home in the 300-block of Indian Road North in Sarnia and a Venetian Boulevard hotel in Point Edward.
Police said a gun they believe is connected to the fatal shooting was found in the latter location.
Forensics results are pending, but police believe the gun is from the United States and not registered in Canada.
